16 Ye shall not tempt Jehovah your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.
Harden not your heart, as at Meribah, As in the day of Massah in the wilderness; When your fathers tempted me, Proved me, and saw my work.
Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, Like as in the day of the trial in the wilderness, Where your fathers tried `me' by proving `me,' And saw my works forty years.
And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way to the Red Sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way. And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, and there is no water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.
