31 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is of the earth, and of the earth he speaketh: he that cometh from heaven is above all.
And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.
For the bread of God is that which cometh down out of heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
They are of the world: therefore speak they `as' of the world, and the world heareth them.
whose are the fathers, and of whom is Christ as concerning the flesh, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.
Wherefore he saith, When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, And gave gifts unto men. (Now this, He ascended, what is it but that he also descended into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the same also that ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.)
And he hath on his garment and on his thigh a name written, KINGS OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
who is one the right hand of God, having gone into heaven; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.
which `is' a figure for the time present; according to which are offered both gifts and sacrifices that cannot, as touching the conscience, make the worshipper perfect, `being' only (with meats and drinks and divers washings) carnal ordinances, imposed until a time of reformation.
Now even a first `covenant' had ordinances of divine service, and its sanctuary, `a sanctuary' of this world.
Wherefore also God highly exalted him, and gave unto him the name which is above every name; that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of `things' in heaven and `things' on earth and `things' under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly `places', far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is of heaven. As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
for the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came forth from the Father. I came out from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go unto the Father.
I am the living bread which came down out of heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: yea and the bread which I will give is my flesh, for the life of the world.
For as the Father raiseth the dead and giveth them life, even so the Son also giveth life to whom he will. For neither doth the Father judge any man, but he hath given all judgment unto the Son; that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honoreth not the Son honoreth not the Father that sent him. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth him that sent me, hath eternal life, and cometh not into judgment, but hath passed out of death into life. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour cometh, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God; and they that hear shall live.
If I told you earthly things and ye believe not, how shall ye believe if I tell you heavenly things? And no one hath ascended into heaven, but he that descended out of heaven, `even' the Son of man, who is in heaven.
This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man who is become before me: for he was before me.
