35 Peter saith unto him, Even if I must die with thee, `yet' will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.
Peter saith unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee even now? I will lay down my life for thee.
And all the people answered together, and said, All that Jehovah hath spoken we will do. And Moses reported the words of the people unto Jehovah.
A man's pride shall bring him low; But he that is of a lowly spirit shall obtain honor.
But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink the cup that I am about to drink? They say unto him, We are able. He saith unto them, My cup indeed ye shall drink: but to sit on my right hand, and on `my' left hand, is not mine to give; but `it is for them' for whom it hath been prepared of my Father. And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation concerning the two brethren.
Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
So then, my beloved, even as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;
