27 For forty years he was ruling as king over Israel, seven years in Hebron and thirty-three years in Jerusalem.
David was thirty years old when he became king, and he was king for forty years, Ruling over Judah in Hebron for seven years and six months, and in Jerusalem, over all Israel and Judah, for thirty-three years.
David was king over Israel for forty years: for seven years he was king in Hebron and for thirty-three years in Jerusalem.

Chapter 29
David has said what he had to say to Solomon. But he had something more to say to the congregation before he parted with them.
1Ch 29:1-9

These verses bring king Solomon to his throne and king David to his grave. Thus the rising generation thrusts out that which went before, and says, "Make room for us.' Every one has his day.
