13 The produce of the garden is pomegranates; with all the best fruits, henna and spikenard,
My love is to me as a branch of the cypress-tree in the vine-gardens of En-gedi.
I made myself gardens and fruit gardens, planting in them fruit-trees of all sorts.
While the king is seated at his table, my spices send out their perfume.
They will give fruit even when they are old; they will be fertile and full of growth;
My loved one is gone down into his garden, to the beds of spices, to take food in the gardens, and to get lilies.
Let us go out early to the vine-gardens; let us see if the vine is in bud, if it has put out its young fruit, and the pomegranate is in flower. There I will give you my love. The mandrakes give out a sweet smell, and at our doors are all sorts of good fruits, new and old, which I have kept for my loved one.
Your people will all be upright, the land will be their heritage for ever; the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, to be for my glory.
For as the earth puts out buds, and as the garden gives growth to the seeds which are planted in it, so the Lord will make righteousness and praise to be flowering before all the nations.
Then Mary, taking a pound of perfumed oil of great value, put it on the feet of Jesus and made them dry with her hair: and the house became full of the smell of the perfume.
I am the true vine and my Father is the gardener. He takes away every branch in me which has no fruit, and every branch which has fruit he makes clean, so that it may have more fruit. You are clean, even now, through the teaching which I have given you.

Chapter 4
In this chapter,
Sgs 4:1-7
Here is,
Sgs 4:8-14
These are still the words of Christ to his church, expressing his great esteem of her and affection to her, the opinion he had of her beauty and excellency, the desire he had of, and the delight he had in, her converse and society. And so ought men to love their wives as Christ loves the church, and takes pleasure in it as if it were spotless and had no fault, when yet it is compassed with infirmity. Now, observe here,
Sgs 4:15-16
These seem to be the words of the spouse, the church, in answer to the commendations which Christ, the bridegroom, had given of her as a pleasant fruitful garden. Is she a garden?
