15 Thou knowest this, that all who [are] in Asia, of whom is Phygellus and Hermogenes, have turned away from me.
At my first defence no man stood with me, but all deserted me. May it not be imputed to them.
For all seek their own things, not the things of Jesus Christ.
And this took place for two years, so that all that inhabited Asia heard the word of the Lord, both Jews and Greeks.
And having passed through Phrygia and the Galatian country, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia,
and some of the Asiarchs also, who were his friends, sent to him and urged him not to throw himself into the theatre.
for Paul thought it desirable to sail by Ephesus, so that he might not be made to spend time in Asia; for he hastened, if it was possible for him, to be the day of Pentecost at Jerusalem.

Here is an exhortation and excitation of Timothy to his duty (v. 6): I put thee in remembrance. The best men need remembrancers; what we know we should be reminded of. 2 Pt. 3:1, I write this, to stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance.

Having (v. 13, 14) exhorted Timothy to hold fast,
