24 and ye said, Behold, Jehovah our God has shewn us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice from the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God talks with man, and he lives.
And the sound of the trumpet increased and became exceeding loud; Moses spoke, and God answered him by a voice.
Did [ever] people hear the voice of God speaking from the midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, and live?
And he said, Thou canst not see my face; for Man shall not see me, and live.
Face to face on the mountain from the midst of the fire Jehovah spoke with you (I stood between Jehovah and you at that time, to declare to you the word of Jehovah; for ye were afraid by reason of the fire, and went not up to the mountain), saying,
