6 Thy right hand, Jehovah, is become glorious in power: Thy right hand, Jehovah, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.
The voice of triumph and salvation is in the tents of the righteous: the right hand of Jehovah doeth valiantly; The right hand of Jehovah is exalted, the right hand of Jehovah doeth valiantly.
Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of Jehovah; awake, as in the days of old, [as in] the generations of passed ages. Is it not thou that hath hewn Rahab in pieces, [and] pierced the monster?
That thy beloved ones may be delivered. Save with thy right hand, and answer me.
Thou shalt break them with a sceptre of iron, as a potter's vessel thou shalt dash them in pieces.
and lead us not into temptation, but save us from evil.
And I will dash them one against another, both the fathers and the sons together, saith Jehovah; I will not pity, nor spare, nor have mercy so as not to destroy them.
Who is like unto thee, Jehovah, among the gods? Who is like unto thee, glorifying thyself in holiness, Fearful [in] praises, doing wonders?
{A Psalm.} Sing ye unto Jehovah a new song: for he hath done wondrous things; his right hand and his holy arm hath wrought salvation for him.
Jehovah, God of hosts, who is like unto thee, the strong Jah? And thy faithfulness is round about thee. *Thou* rulest the pride of the sea: when its waves arise, *thou* stillest them. Thou hast crushed Rahab as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with the arm of thy strength. Thine are the heavens, the earth also is thine; the world and its fulness, *thou* hast founded them. The north and the south, *thou* hast created them: Tabor and Hermon triumph in thy name. Thine is the arm of might: strong is thy hand, high is thy right hand.
Then said I, This is my weakness: -- the years of the right hand of the Most High
Why withdrawest thou thy hand, and thy right hand? [pluck it] out of thy bosom: consume [them].
Shew wondrously thy loving-kindnesses, O thou that savest by thy right hand them that trust [in thee] from those that rise up [against them].
Thine, Jehovah, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the splendour, and the majesty; for all that is in the heavens and on the earth is thine: thine, Jehovah, is the kingdom, and thou art exalted as Head above all; and riches and glory are of thee, and thou rulest over everything; and in thy hand is power and might; and in thy hand it is to make all great and strong.

In this chapter,
Exd 15:1-21
Having read how that complete victory of Israel over the Egyptians was obtained, here we are told how it was celebrated; those that were to hold their peace while the deliverance was in working (ch. 14:14) must not hold their peace now that it was wrought; the less they had to do then the more they had to do now. If God accomplishes deliverance by his own immediate power, it redounds so much the more to his glory. Moses, no doubt by divine inspiration, indited this song, and delivered it to the children of Israel, to be sung before they stirred from the place where they saw the Egyptians dead upon the shore. Observe,
Exd 15:22-27
It should seem, it was with some difficulty that Moses prevailed with Israel to leave that triumphant shore on which they sang the foregoing song. They were so taken up with the sight, or with the song, or with the spoiling of the dead bodies, that they cared not to go forward, but Moses with much ado brought them from the Red Sea into a wilderness. The pleasures of our way to Canaan must not retard our progress, but quicken it, though we have a wilderness before us. Now here we are told,
