16 But now ye glory in your vauntings: all such glorying is evil.
Your boasting [is] not good. Do ye not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?

Clouds and wind without rain, [so] is a man that boasteth himself of a false gift.
Boast not thyself of to-morrow, for thou knowest not what a day will bring forth.
but if ye have bitter emulation and strife in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth.
and thou saidst, I shall be a mistress for ever; so that thou didst not take these things to heart, thou didst not remember the end thereof. And now hear this, thou voluptuous one, that dwellest carelessly, that sayest in thy heart, It is I, and there is none but me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know loss of children:
For who makes thee to differ? and what hast thou which thou hast not received? but if also thou hast received, why boastest thou as not receiving? Already ye are filled; already ye have been enriched; ye have reigned without us; and I would that ye reigned, that *we* also might reign with you.
