41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed [is] ready, but the flesh weak.
and lead us not into temptation, but save us from evil.
Be vigilant; stand fast in the faith; quit yourselves like men; be strong.
And he said to them, Why sleep ye? rise up and pray that ye enter not into temptation.
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation. The spirit indeed [is] willing, but the flesh weak.
Watch therefore, praying at every season, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things which are about to come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
But those upon the rock, those who when they hear receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a time, and in time of trial fall away.
For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, good does not dwell: for to will is there with me, but to do right [I find] not. For I do not practise the good that I will; but the evil I do not will, that I do. But if what *I* do not will, this I practise, [it is] no longer *I* [that] do it, but the sin that dwells in me. I find then the law upon *me* who will to practise what is right, that with *me* evil is there. For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man: but I see another law in my members, warring in opposition to the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which exists in my members. O wretched man that I [am]! who shall deliver me out of this body of death? I thank God, through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then *I* *myself* with the mind serve God's law; but with the flesh sin's law.
But I say, Walk in [the] Spirit, and ye shall no way fulfil flesh's lust. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these things are opposed one to the other, that ye should not do those things which ye desire;
But the end of all things is drawn nigh: be sober therefore, and be watchful unto prayers;
Be vigilant, watch. Your adversary [the] devil as a roaring lion walks about seeking whom he may devour.
Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, *I* also will keep thee out of the hour of trial, which is about to come upon the whole habitable world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
(Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed [is] he that watches and keeps his garments, that he may not walk naked, and that they [may not] see his shame.)
Take heed, watch and pray, for ye do not know when the time is: [it is] as a man gone out of the country, having left his house and given to his bondmen the authority, and to each one his work, and commanded the doorkeeper that he should watch. Watch therefore, for ye do not know when the master of the house comes: evening, or midnight, or cock-crow, or morning; lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. But what I say to you, I say to all, Watch.
Then he says to them, My soul is very sorrowful even unto death; remain here and watch with me.
Watch therefore, for ye know not in what hour your Lord comes.
Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O Jehovah, have we waited for thee; the desire of [our] soul is to thy name, and to thy memorial. With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.
Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil [men]: avoid it, pass not by it; turn from it, and pass away.
I will run the way of thy commandments when thou shalt enlarge my heart.
Not that I have already obtained [the prize], or am already perfected; but I pursue, if also I may get possession [of it], seeing that also I have been taken possession of by Christ [Jesus]. Brethren, *I* do not count to have got possession myself; but one thing -- forgetting the things behind, and stretching out to the things before, I pursue, [looking] towards [the] goal, for the prize of the calling on high of God in Christ Jesus.
But they that [are] of the Christ have crucified the flesh with the passions and the lusts.
No temptation has taken you but such as is according to man's nature; and God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what ye are able [to bear], but will with the temptation make the issue also, so that [ye] should be able to bear [it].
For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, having sent his own Son, in likeness of flesh of sin, and for sin, has condemned sin in the flesh,
and remit us our sins, for we also remit to every one indebted to us; and lead us not into temptation.
Depart from me, ye evil-doers; and I will observe the commandments of my God.
Make me to walk in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight. Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to gain. Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; quicken me in thy way.
