1 Praise Jehovah, all ye nations; laud him, all ye peoples;
And again, Praise the Lord, all [ye] nations, and let all the peoples laud him.
And they sing a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open its seals; because thou hast been slain, and hast redeemed to God, by thy blood, out of every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation,
After these things I saw, and lo, a great crowd, which no one could number, out of every nation and tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palm branches in their hands. And they cry with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God who sits upon the throne, and to the Lamb.
Who shall not fear [thee], O Lord, and glorify thy name? for [thou] only [art] holy; for all nations shall come and do homage before thee; for thy righteousnesses have been made manifest.
{To the chief Musician. A Song: a Psalm.} Shout aloud unto God, all the earth:
Let the peoples praise thee, O God, let all the peoples praise thee.
All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord, and shall glorify thy name.
Kings of the earth and all peoples, princes and all judges of the earth; Both young men and maidens, old men with youths, -- Let them praise the name of Jehovah: for his name alone is exalted; his majesty is above the earth and the heavens. And he hath lifted up the horn of his people, the praise of all his saints, [even] of the children of Israel, a people near unto him. Hallelujah!
Let everything that hath breath praise Jah. Hallelujah!
Therefore glorify Jehovah in the east, the name of Jehovah, the God of Israel, in the isles of the west. From the end of the earth have we heard songs: Glory to the righteous! And I said, My leanness, my leanness, woe unto me! The treacherous have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous have dealt very treacherously.
Sing unto Jehovah a new song, his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein, the isles and their inhabitants. Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up [their voice], the villages that Kedar doth inhabit; let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains: let them give glory unto Jehovah, and declare his praise in the islands.

Commentary on Psalms 117 Commentary Critical and Explanatory on the Whole Bible
PSALM 117
Ps 117:1, 2. This may be regarded as a doxology, suitable to be appended to any Psalm of similar character, and prophetical of the prevalence of God's grace in the world, in which aspect Paul quotes it (Ro 15:11; compare Ps 47:2; 66:8).
2. is great toward us—literally, "prevailed over" or "protected us."
