¹ And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, wherein Solomon had built the house of the LORD, and his own house,

² That the cities which Huram had restored to Solomon, Solomon built them, and caused the children of Israel to dwell there.

³ And Solomon went to Hamathzobah, and prevailed against it.

⁴ And he built Tadmor in the wilderness, and all the store cities, which he built in Hamath.

⁵ Also he built Bethhoron the upper, and Bethhoron the nether, fenced cities, with walls, gates, and bars;

⁶ And Baalath, and all the store cities that Solomon had, and all the chariot cities, and the cities of the horsemen, and all that Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and throughout all the land of his dominion.

⁷ As for all the people that were left of the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which were not of Israel,

⁸ But of their children, who were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel consumed not, them did Solomon make to pay tribute until this day.

⁹ But of the children of Israel did Solomon make no servants for his work; but they were men of war, and chief of his captains, and captains of his chariots and horsemen.

¹⁰ And these were the chief of king Solomon's officers, even two hundred and fifty, that bare rule over the people.

¹¹ And Solomon brought up the daughter of Pharaoh out of the city of David unto the house that he had built for her: for he said, My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the places are holy, whereunto the ark of the LORD hath come.

¹² Then Solomon offered burnt offerings unto the LORD on the altar of the LORD, which he had built before the porch,

¹³ Even after a certain rate every day, offering according to the commandment of Moses, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts, three times in the year, even in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles.

¹⁴ And he appointed, according to the order of David his father, the courses of the priests to their service, and the Levites to their charges, to praise and minister before the priests, as the duty of every day required: the porters also by their courses at every gate: for so had David the man of God commanded.

¹⁵ And they departed not from the commandment of the king unto the priests and Levites concerning any matter, or concerning the treasures.

¹⁶ Now all the work of Solomon was prepared unto the day of the foundation of the house of the LORD, and until it was finished. So the house of the LORD was perfected.

¹⁷ Then went Solomon to Eziongeber, and to Eloth, at the sea side in the land of Edom.

¹⁸ And Huram sent him by the hands of his servants ships, and servants that had knowledge of the sea; and they went with the servants of Solomon to Ophir, and took thence four hundred and fifty talents of gold, and brought them to king Solomon.

⁵ Also he built ^H1129 Bethhoron ^H1032 the upper, ^H5945 and Bethhoron ^H1032 the nether, ^H8481 fenced ^H4692 cities, ^H5892 with walls, ^H2346 gates, ^H1817 and bars; ^H1280

⁶ And Baalath, ^H1191 and all the store ^H4543 cities ^H5892 that Solomon ^H8010 had, and all the chariot ^H7393 cities, ^H5892 and the cities ^H5892 of the horsemen, ^H6571 and all that Solomon ^H8010 desired ^{H2836 H2837} to build ^H1129 in Jerusalem, ^H3389 and in Lebanon, ^H3844 and throughout all the land ^H776 of his dominion. ^H4475

⁷ As for all the people ^H5971 that were left ^H3498 of the Hittites, ^H2850 and the Amorites, ^H567 and the Perizzites, ^H6522 and the Hivites, ^H2340 and the Jebusites, ^H2983 which were not of Israel, ^H3478

⁸ But of their children, ^H1121 who were left ^H3498 after ^H310 them in the land, ^H776 whom the children ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 consumed ^H3615 not, them did Solomon ^H8010 make to pay ^H5927 tribute ^H4522 until this day. ^H3117

⁹ But of the children ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 did Solomon ^H8010 make ^H5414 no servants ^H5650 for his work; ^H4399 but they were men ^H582 of war, ^H4421 and chief ^H8269 of his captains, ^H7991 and captains ^H8269 of his chariots ^H7393 and horsemen. ^H6571

¹⁰ And these were the chief ^H8269 of king ^H4428 Solomon's ^H8010 officers, ^{H5324 H5333} even two hundred ^H3967 and fifty, ^H2572 that bare rule ^H7287 over the people. ^H5971

¹¹ And Solomon ^H8010 brought up ^H5927 the daughter ^H1323 of Pharaoh ^H6547 out of the city ^H5892 of David ^H1732 unto the house ^H1004 that he had built ^H1129 for her: for he said, ^H559 My wife ^H802 shall not dwell ^H3427 in the house ^H1004 of David ^H1732 king ^H4428 of Israel, ^H3478 because the places are holy, ^H6944 whereunto the ark ^H727 of the LORD ^H3068 hath come. ^H935

¹³ Even after a certain rate ^H1697 every day, ^H3117 offering ^H5927 according to the commandment ^H4687 of Moses, ^H4872 on the sabbaths, ^H7676 and on the new moons, ^H2320 and on the solemn feasts, ^H4150 three ^H7969 times ^H6471 in the year, ^H8141 even in the feast ^H2282 of unleavened bread, ^H4682 and in the feast ^H2282 of weeks, ^H7620 and in the feast ^H2282 of tabernacles. ^H5521

¹⁷ Then went ^H1980 Solomon ^H8010 to Eziongeber, ^H6100 and to Eloth, ^H359 at the sea ^H3220 side ^H8193 in the land ^H776 of Edom. ^H123

⁶ and Baalath, and all the cities of store that Solomon had, and all the cities of the chariot, and the cities of the horsemen, and all the desire of Solomon that he desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.

⁷ All the people who are left of the Hittite, and the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, who are not of Israel --

⁸ of their sons who have been left after them in the land, whom the sons of Israel consumed not -- doth Solomon lift up a tribute unto this day.

⁹ And none of the sons of Israel hath Solomon made servants for his work, but they `are' men of war, and heads of his captains, and heads of his charioteers, and of his horsemen;

¹⁰ and these `are' heads of the officers whom king Solomon hath, two hundred and fifty who are rulers among the people.

¹¹ And the daughter of Pharaoh hath Solomon brought up from the city of David to the house that he built for her, for he said, `My wife doth not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, for they are holy unto whom hath come the ark of Jehovah.'

¹² Then hath Solomon caused to ascend burnt-offerings to Jehovah on the altar of Jehovah that he built before the porch,

¹³ even by the matter of a day in its day, to cause to ascend according to the command of Moses, on sabbaths, and on new moons, and on appointed seasons, three times in a year -- in the feast of unleavened things, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of booths.

¹⁴ And he establisheth, according to the ordinance of David his father, the courses of the priests over their service, and of the Levites over their charges, to praise and to minister over-against the priests, according to the matter of a day in its day, and the gatekeepers in their courses at gate and gate, for so `is' the command of David the man of God.

¹⁵ And they have not turned aside `from' the command of the king concerning the priests and the Levites, in reference to any matter, and to the treasures.

¹⁶ And all the work of Solomon is prepared till the day of the foundation of the house of Jehovah, and till its completion; perfect is the house of Jehovah.

¹⁷ Then hath Solomon gone to Ezion-Geber, and unto Elath, on the border of the sea, in the land of Edom;

¹⁸ and Huram sendeth to him, by the hand of his servants, ships and servants knowing the sea, and they go with servants of Solomon to Ophir, and take thence four hundred and fifty talents of gold, and bring in unto king Solomon.

¹⁵ and they did not depart from the commandment of the king to the priests and the Levites concerning any matter, nor concerning the treasures.

¹⁶ And all the work of Solomon was prepared, to the day of the foundation of the house of Jehovah and to its completion. [So] the house of Jehovah was finished.

¹⁷ Then went Solomon to Ezion-geber, and to Eloth, on the seashore in the land of Edom.

² He took in hand the building up of the towns which Huram had given him, causing the children of Israel to make living-places for themselves there.

³ And Solomon went to Hamath-zobah and overcame it.

⁴ And he put up the buildings of Tadmor in the waste land, and of all the store-towns in Hamath;

⁵ And of Beth-horon the higher and the lower, walled towns with walls and doorways and locks;

⁶ And of Baalath, and all the store-towns which Solomon had, and the towns where he kept his war-carriages and his horse men, and everything which it was his pleasure to put up in Jerusalem and in Lebanon and in all the land under his rule.

⁷ As for all the rest of the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, who were not of Israel:

⁸ Their men who were still living in the land, and whom the children of Israel had not put an end to, these Solomon put to forced work, as is done to this day;

⁹ But Solomon did not make use of the children of Israel as servants for his work; they were men of war, his chiefs and his captains, and captains of his war-carriages and his horsemen.

¹⁰ Now these were the chief men in authority whom King Solomon had: two hundred and fifty of them, in authority over the people.

¹¹ Then Solomon made Pharaoh's daughter come up from the town of David to the house which he had made for her; for he said, I will not have my wife living in the house of David, king of Israel, because those places where the ark of the Lord has come are holy.

¹² Then Solomon made burned offerings to the Lord on the altar of the Lord which he had put up in front of the covered way,

¹³ Offering every day what had been ordered by Moses, on the Sabbaths and at the new moon and at the regular feasts three times a year, that is at the feast of unleavened bread, the feast of weeks, and the feast of tents.

¹⁴ And he gave the divisions of the priests their places for their work, as ordered by his father David, and to the Levites he gave their work of praise and waiting on the priests, to do what was needed day by day; and he gave the door-keepers their places in turn at every door; for so David, the man of God, had given orders.

¹⁵ All the orders given by the king to the priests and Levites, in connection with any business or stores, were done with care.

¹⁶ And all the work of Solomon was complete, from the day when he put the base of the Lord's house in position, till Solomon had come to the end of building the Lord's house.

¹⁷ Then Solomon went to Ezion-geber and to Eloth by the sea in the land of Edom.

¹⁸ And Huram sent him, by his servants, ships and experienced seamen, who went with the servants of Solomon to Ophir and came back with four hundred and fifty talents of gold, which they took to King Solomon.
