¹ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

² Speak unto Aaron and say unto him, When thou lightest the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light over against the candlestick.

³ And Aaron did so; he lighted the lamps thereof over against the candlestick, as the LORD commanded Moses.

⁴ And this work of the candlestick was of beaten gold, unto the shaft thereof, unto the flowers thereof, was beaten work: according unto the pattern which the LORD had showed Moses, so he made the candlestick.

⁵ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

⁶ Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them.

⁷ And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: Sprinkle water of purifying upon them, and let them shave all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and so make themselves clean.

⁸ Then let them take a young bullock with his meat offering, even fine flour mingled with oil, and another young bullock shalt thou take for a sin offering.

⁹ And thou shalt bring the Levites before the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt gather the whole assembly of the children of Israel together:

¹⁰ And thou shalt bring the Levites before the LORD: and the children of Israel shall put their hands upon the Levites:

¹¹ And Aaron shall offer the Levites before the LORD for an offering of the children of Israel, that they may execute the service of the LORD.

¹² And the Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bullocks: and thou shalt offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, unto the LORD, to make an atonement for the Levites.

¹³ And thou shalt set the Levites before Aaron, and before his sons, and offer them for an offering unto the LORD.

¹⁴ Thus shalt thou separate the Levites from among the children of Israel: and the Levites shall be mine.

¹⁵ And after that shall the Levites go in to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt cleanse them, and offer them for an offering.

¹⁶ For they are wholly given unto me from among the children of Israel; instead of such as open every womb, even instead of the firstborn of all the children of Israel, have I taken them unto me.

¹⁷ For all the firstborn of the children of Israel are mine, both man and beast: on the day that I smote every firstborn in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for myself.

¹⁸ And I have taken the Levites for all the firstborn of the children of Israel.

¹⁹ And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the tabernacle of the congregation, and to make an atonement for the children of Israel: that there be no plague among the children of Israel, when the children of Israel come nigh unto the sanctuary.

²⁰ And Moses, and Aaron, and all the congregation of the children of Israel, did to the Levites according unto all that the LORD commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did the children of Israel unto them.

²¹ And the Levites were purified, and they washed their clothes; and Aaron offered them as an offering before the LORD; and Aaron made an atonement for them to cleanse them.

²² And after that went the Levites in to do their service in the tabernacle of the congregation before Aaron, and before his sons: as the LORD had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did they unto them.

²³ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

²⁴ This is it that belongeth unto the Levites: from twenty and five years old and upward they shall go in to wait upon the service of the tabernacle of the congregation:

²⁵ And from the age of fifty years they shall cease waiting upon the service thereof, and shall serve no more:

²⁶ But shall minister with their brethren in the tabernacle of the congregation, to keep the charge, and shall do no service. Thus shalt thou do unto the Levites touching their charge.

⁶ Take ^H3947 the Levites ^H3881 from among ^H8432 the children ^H1121 of Israel, ^H3478 and cleanse ^H2891 them.

⁷ And thus shalt thou do ^H6213 unto them, to cleanse ^H2891 them: Sprinkle ^H5137 water ^H4325 of purifying ^H2403 upon them, and let them shave ^{H8593 H5674} all their flesh, ^H1320 and let them wash ^H3526 their clothes, ^H899 and so make themselves clean. ^H2891

¹¹ And Aaron ^H175 shall offer ^H5130 the Levites ^H3881 before ^H6440 the LORD ^H3068 for an offering ^H8573 of the children ^H1121 of Israel, ^H3478 that they may execute ^H5647 the service ^H5656 of the LORD. ^H3068

¹² And the Levites ^H3881 shall lay ^H5564 their hands ^H3027 upon the heads ^H7218 of the bullocks: ^H6499 and thou shalt offer ^H6213 the one ^H259 for a sin offering, ^H2403 and the other ^H259 for a burnt offering, ^H5930 unto the LORD, ^H3068 to make an atonement ^H3722 for the Levites. ^H3881

¹³ And thou shalt set ^H5975 the Levites ^H3881 before ^H6440 Aaron, ^H175 and before ^H6440 his sons, ^H1121 and offer ^H5130 them for an offering ^H8573 unto the LORD. ^H3068

¹⁷ For all the firstborn ^H1060 of the children ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 are mine, both man ^H120 and beast: ^H929 on the day ^H3117 that I smote ^H5221 every firstborn ^H1060 in the land ^H776 of Egypt ^H4714 I sanctified ^H6942 them for myself.

¹⁸ And I have taken ^H3947 the Levites ^H3881 for all the firstborn ^H1060 of the children ^H1121 of Israel. ^H3478

¹⁹ And I have given ^H5414 the Levites ^H3881 as a gift ^H5414 to Aaron ^H175 and to his sons ^H1121 from among ^H8432 the children ^H1121 of Israel, ^H3478 to do ^H5647 the service ^H5656 of the children ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 in the tabernacle ^H168 of the congregation, ^H4150 and to make an atonement ^H3722 for the children ^H1121 of Israel: ^H3478 that there be no plague ^H5063 among the children ^H1121 of Israel, ^H3478 when the children ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 come nigh ^H5066 unto the sanctuary. ^H6944

²⁰ And Moses, ^H4872 and Aaron, ^H175 and all the congregation ^H5712 of the children ^H1121 of Israel, ^H3478 did ^H6213 to the Levites ^H3881 according unto all that the LORD ^H3068 commanded ^H6680 Moses ^H4872 concerning the Levites, ^H3881 so did ^H6213 the children ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 unto them.

²¹ And the Levites ^H3881 were purified, ^H2398 and they washed ^H3526 their clothes; ^H899 and Aaron ^H175 offered ^H5130 them as an offering ^H8573 before ^H6440 the LORD; ^H3068 and Aaron ^H175 made an atonement ^H3722 for them to cleanse ^H2891 them.

²² And after ^H310 that went ^H935 the Levites ^H3881 in to do ^H5647 their service ^H5656 in the tabernacle ^H168 of the congregation ^H4150 before ^H6440 Aaron, ^H175 and before ^H6440 his sons: ^H1121 as the LORD ^H3068 had commanded ^H6680 Moses ^H4872 concerning the Levites, ^H3881 so did ^H6213 they unto them.

²³ And the LORD ^H3068 spake ^H1696 unto Moses, ^H4872 saying, ^H559

²⁴ This is it that belongeth unto the Levites: ^H3881 from twenty ^H6242 and five ^H2568 years ^H8141 old ^H1121 and upward ^H4605 they shall go in ^H935 to wait ^{H6633 H6635} upon the service ^H5656 of the tabernacle ^H168 of the congregation: ^H4150

²⁵ And from the age ^H1121 of fifty ^H2572 years ^H8141 they shall cease ^H7725 waiting ^H6635 upon the service ^H5656 thereof, and shall serve ^H5647 no more:

²⁶ But shall minister ^H8334 with their brethren ^H251 in the tabernacle ^H168 of the congregation, ^H4150 to keep ^H8104 the charge, ^H4931 and shall do ^H5647 no service. ^H5656 Thus shalt thou do ^H6213 unto the Levites ^H3881 touching their charge. ^H4931

⁹ And thou shalt present the Levites before the tent of meeting: and thou shalt assemble the whole congregation of the children of Israel:

¹⁰ and thou shalt present the Levites before Jehovah. And the children of Israel shall lay their hands upon the Levites:

¹¹ and Aaron shall offer the Levites before Jehovah for a wave-offering, on the behalf of the children of Israel, that it may be theirs to do the service of Jehovah.

¹² And the Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bullocks: and offer thou the one for a sin-offering, and the other for a burnt-offering, unto Jehovah, to make atonement for the Levites.

¹³ And thou shalt set the Levites before Aaron, and before his sons, and offer them for a wave-offering unto Jehovah.

⁵ And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

⁶ `Take the Levites from the midst of the sons of Israel, and thou hast cleansed them.

⁷ `And thus thou dost to them to cleanse them: sprinkle upon them waters of atonement, and they have caused a razor to pass over all their flesh, and have washed their garments, and cleansed themselves,

⁸ and have taken a bullock, a son of the herd, and its present, flour mixed with oil, -- and a second bullock a son of the herd thou dost take for a sin-offering,

⁹ and thou hast brought near the Levites before the tent of meeting, and thou hast assembled the whole company of the sons of Israel,

¹⁰ and thou hast brought near the Levites before Jehovah, and the sons of Israel have laid their hands on the Levites,

¹¹ and Aaron hath waved the Levites -- a wave-offering before Jehovah, from the sons of Israel, and they have been -- for doing the service of Jehovah.

¹² `And the Levites lay their hands on the head of the bullocks, and make thou the one a sin-offering, and the one a burnt-offering to Jehovah, to atone for the Levites,

¹³ and thou hast caused the Levites to stand before Aaron, and before his sons, and hast waved them -- a wave-offering to Jehovah;

¹⁴ and thou hast separated the Levites from the midst of the sons of Israel, and the Levites have become Mine;

¹⁵ and afterwards do the Levites come in to serve the tent of meeting, and thou hast cleansed them, and hast waved them -- a wave-offering.

¹⁶ `For they are certainly given to Me out of the midst of the sons of Israel, instead of him who openeth any womb -- the first-born of all -- from the sons of Israel I have taken them to Myself;

¹⁷ for Mine `is' every first-born among the sons of Israel, among man and among beast; in the day of my smiting every first-born in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for Myself;

¹⁸ and I take the Levites instead of every first-born among the sons of Israel:

¹⁹ `And I give the Levites gifts to Aaron and to his sons, from the midst of the sons of Israel, to do the service of the sons of Israel in the tent of meeting, and to make atonement for the sons of Israel, and there is no plague among the sons of Israel in the sons of Israel's drawing nigh unto the sanctuary.'

²⁰ And Moses doth -- Aaron also, and all the company of the sons of Israel -- to the Levites according to all that Jehovah hath commanded Moses concerning the Levites; so have the sons of Israel done to them.

²¹ And the Levites cleanse themselves, and wash their garments, and Aaron waveth them a wave-offering before Jehovah, and Aaron maketh atonement for them to cleanse them,

²² and afterwards have the Levites gone in to do their service in the tent of meeting, before Aaron and before his sons; as Jehovah hath commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so they have done to them.

²³ And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

²⁴ `This `is' that which `is' the Levites': from a son of five and twenty years and upward he doth go in to serve the host in the service of the tent of meeting,

²⁵ and from a son of fifty years he doth return from the host of the service, and doth not serve any more,

²⁶ and he hath ministered with his brethren in the tent of meeting, to keep the charge, and doth not do service; thus thou dost to the Levites concerning their charge.'

¹¹ And Aaron shall offer the Levites as a wave-offering before Jehovah from the children of Israel, and they shall perform the service of Jehovah.

¹² And the Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bullocks, and thou shalt offer the one for a sin-offering, and the other for a burnt-offering, to Jehovah, to make atonement for the Levites.

¹³ And thou shalt set the Levites before Aaron, and before his sons, and offer them as a wave-offering to Jehovah.

¹⁹ And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons, from among the children of Israel, to perform the service of the children of Israel in the tent of meeting, and to make atonement for the children of Israel; that there be no plague among the children of Israel, when the children of Israel draw near to the sanctuary.

²⁰ And Moses and Aaron, and all the assembly of the children of Israel, did to the Levites according to all that Jehovah had commanded Moses concerning the Levites: so did the children of Israel to them.

²¹ And the Levites purified themselves from sin, and they washed their garments; and Aaron offered them as a wave-offering before Jehovah; and Aaron made atonement for them to cleanse them.

²² And afterwards the Levites came in to perform their service in the tent of meeting before Aaron, and before his sons; as Jehovah had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did they to them.

²³ And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

²⁴ This is that which concerneth the Levites: from twenty-five years old and upward shall he come to labour in the work of the service of the tent of meeting.

²⁵ And from fifty years old he shall retire from the labour of the service, and shall serve no more;

²⁶ but he shall minister with his brethren in the tent of meeting, and keep the charge, but he shall not serve [in] the service. Thus shalt thou do unto the Levites with regard to their charges.

¹ Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

² "Speak to Aaron, and tell him, 'When you light the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light in front of the lampstand.'"

³ Aaron did so. He lit its lamps to light the area in front of the lampstand, as Yahweh commanded Moses.

⁴ This was the workmanship of the lampstand, beaten work of gold. From its base to its flowers, it was beaten work: according to the pattern which Yahweh had shown Moses, so he made the lampstand.

⁵ Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

⁶ "Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them.

⁷ Thus shall you do to them, to cleanse them: sprinkle the water of cleansing on them, let them shave their whole bodies with a razor, and let them wash their clothes, and cleanse themselves.

⁸ Then let them take a young bull, and its meal offering, fine flour mixed with oil; and another young bull you shall take for a sin offering.

⁹ You shall present the Levites before the Tent of Meeting. You shall assemble the whole congregation of the children of Israel.

¹⁰ You shall present the Levites before Yahweh. The children of Israel shall lay their hands on the Levites,

¹¹ and Aaron shall offer the Levites before Yahweh for a wave offering, on the behalf of the children of Israel, that it may be theirs to do the service of Yahweh.

¹² The Levites shall lay their hands on the heads of the bulls, and you shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering to Yahweh, to make atonement for the Levites.

¹⁹ I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the Tent of Meeting, and to make atonement for the children of Israel; that there be no plague among the children of Israel, when the children of Israel come near to the sanctuary."

²⁰ Thus did Moses, and Aaron, and all the congregation of the children of Israel, to the Levites. According to all that Yahweh commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so the children of Israel did to them.

²¹ The Levites purified themselves from sin, and they washed their clothes; and Aaron offered them for a wave offering before Yahweh; and Aaron made atonement for them to cleanse them.

²² After that, the Levites went in to do their service in the Tent of Meeting before Aaron, and before his sons: as Yahweh had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so they did to them.

²³ Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

²⁴ "This is that which belongs to the Levites: from twenty-five years old and upward they shall go in to wait on the service in the work of the Tent of Meeting;

²⁵ and from the age of fifty years they shall cease waiting on the work, and shall serve no more,

¹ And the Lord said to Moses,

² Say to Aaron, When you put the lights in their places, the seven lights will give light in front of the support.

³ And Aaron did so; he put the lights in their places so that they gave light in front of the support, as the Lord gave orders to Moses.

⁴ The support for the lights was of hammered gold work, from its base to its flowers it was of hammered work; from the design which the Lord had given to Moses, he made the support for the lights.

⁵ And the Lord said to Moses,

⁶ Take the Levites out from among the children of Israel and make them clean.

⁷ And this is how you are to make them clean: let the holy water which takes away sin be put on them, and let the hair all over their bodies be cut off with a sharp blade, and let their clothing be washed and their bodies made clean.

⁸ Then let them take a young ox and its meal offering, crushed grain mixed with oil, and take another ox for a sin-offering.

⁹ And make the Levites come forward in front of the Tent of meeting, and let all the children of Israel come together:

¹⁰ And you are to take the Levites before the Lord: and the children of Israel are to put their hands on them:

¹¹ And Aaron is to give the Levites to the Lord as a wave offering from the children of Israel, so that they may do the Lord's work.

¹² And the Levites are to put their hands on the heads of the oxen, and one of the oxen is to be offered for a sin-offering and the other for a burned offering to the Lord to take away the sin of the Levites.

¹³ Then the Levites are to be put before Aaron and his sons, to be offered as a wave offering to the Lord.

¹⁴ So you are to make the Levites separate from the children of Israel, and the Levites will be mine.

¹⁵ After that, the Levites will go in to do whatever has to be done in the Tent of meeting; you are to make them clean and give them as a wave offering.

¹⁶ For they have been given to me from among the children of Israel; in place of every mother's first son, the first to come to birth in Israel, I have taken them for myself.

¹⁷ For every mother's first son among the children of Israel is mine, the first male birth of man or beast: on the day when I sent death on all the first sons in the land of Egypt, I made them mine.

¹⁸ And in place of the first sons among the children of Israel, I have taken the Levites.

¹⁹ And I have given them to Aaron and to his sons, from among the children of Israel, to undertake for them all the work of the Tent of meeting, and to take away sin from the children of Israel so that no evil may come on them when they come near the holy place.

²⁰ All these things Moses and Aaron and the children of Israel did to the Levites; as the Lord gave orders to Moses about the Levites, so the children of Israel did.

²¹ And the Levites were made clean from sin, and their clothing was washed, and Aaron gave them for a wave offering before the Lord; and Aaron took away their sin and made them clean.

²² And then the Levites went in to do their work in the Tent of meeting before Aaron and his sons: all the orders which the Lord had given Moses about the Levites were put into effect.

²³ And the Lord said to Moses,

²⁴ This is the rule for the Levites: those of twenty-five years old and over are to go in and do the work of the Tent of meeting;

²⁵ But after they are fifty years old, they are to give up their work and do no more;

²⁶ But be with their brothers in the Tent of meeting, taking care of it but doing no work. This is what you are to do in connection with the Levites and their work.
