21 And Solomon H8010 reigned H4910 over all kingdoms H4467 from the river H5104 unto the land H776 of the Philistines, H6430 and unto the border H1366 of Egypt: H4714 they brought H5066 presents, H4503 and served H5647 Solomon H8010 all the days H3117 of his life. H2416
In the same H1931 day H3117 the LORD H3068 made H3772 a covenant H1285 with Abram, H87 saying, H559 Unto thy seed H2233 have I given H5414 this land, H776 from the river H5104 of Egypt H4714 unto the great H1419 river, H5104 the river H5104 Euphrates: H6578
And I will set H7896 thy bounds H1366 from the Red H5488 sea H3220 even unto the sea H3220 of the Philistines, H6430 and from the desert H4057 unto the river: H5104 for I will deliver H5414 the inhabitants H3427 of the land H776 into your hand; H3027 and thou shalt drive them out H1644 before H6440 thee.
For he had dominion H7287 over all the region on this side H5676 the river, H5104 from Tiphsah H8607 even to Azzah, H5804 over all the kings H4428 on this side H5676 the river: H5104 and he had peace H7965 on all sides H5650 H5676 round about H5439 him.
Against him came up H5927 Shalmaneser H8022 king H4428 of Assyria; H804 and Hoshea H1954 became his servant, H5650 and gave H7725 him presents. H4503
And he reigned H4910 over all the kings H4428 from the river H5104 even unto the land H776 of the Philistines, H6430 and to the border H1366 of Egypt. H4714 And the king H4428 made H5414 silver H3701 in Jerusalem H3389 as stones, H68 and cedar trees H730 made H5414 he as the sycomore trees H8256 that are in the low plains H8219 in abundance. H7230 And they brought H3318 unto Solomon H8010 horses H5483 out of Egypt, H4714 and out of all lands. H776 Now the rest H7605 of the acts H1697 of Solomon, H8010 first H7223 and last, H314 are they not written H3789 in the book H1697 of Nathan H5416 the prophet, H5030 and in the prophecy H5016 of Ahijah H281 the Shilonite, H7888 and in the visions H2378 of Iddo H3260 the seer H2374 against Jeroboam H3379 the son H1121 of Nebat? H5028 And Solomon H8010 reigned H4427 in Jerusalem H3389 over all Israel H3478 forty H705 years. H8141 And Solomon H8010 slept H7901 with his fathers, H1 and he was buried H6912 in the city H5892 of David H1732 his father: H1 and Rehoboam H7346 his son H1121 reigned H4427 in his stead.
Therefore the LORD H3068 stablished H3559 the kingdom H4467 in his hand; H3027 and all Judah H3063 brought H5414 to Jehoshaphat H3092 presents; H4503 and he had riches H6239 and honour H3519 in abundance. H7230
He shall have dominion H7287 also from sea H3220 to sea, H3220 and from the river H5104 unto the ends H657 of the earth. H776 They that dwell in the wilderness H6728 shall bow H3766 before H6440 him; and his enemies H341 shall lick H3897 the dust. H6083 The kings H4428 of Tarshish H8659 and of the isles H339 shall bring H7725 presents: H4503 the kings H4428 of Sheba H7614 and Seba H5434 shall offer H7126 gifts. H814 Yea, all kings H4428 shall fall down H7812 before him: all nations H1471 shall serve H5647 him.

Commentary on 1 Kings 4 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 4
An instance of the wisdom God granted to Solomon we had in the close of the foregoing chapter. In this we have an account of his wealth and prosperity, the other branch of the promise there made him. We have here,
1Ki 4:1-19
Here we have,
1Ki 4:20-28
Such a kingdom, and such a court, surely never any prince had, as Solomon's are here described to be.
1Ki 4:29-34
Solomon's wisdom was more his glory than his wealth, and here we have a general account of it.
Lastly, Solomon was, herein, a type of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, and hidden for use; for he is made of God to us wisdom.
