14 I will G1014 therefore G3767 that the younger women G3501 marry, G1060 bear children, G5041 guide the house, G3616 give G1325 none G3367 occasion G874 to the adversary G480 to G5484 speak reproachfully. G3059
To be discreet, G4998 chaste, G53 keepers at home, G3626 good, G18 obedient G5293 to their own G2398 husbands, G435 that G3363 the word G3056 of God G2316 be G987 not G3363 blasphemed. G987
Forbidding G2967 to marry, G1060 and commanding to abstain from G567 meats, G1033 which G3739 God G2316 hath created G2936 to G1519 be received G3336 with G3326 thanksgiving G2169 of them which believe G4103 and G2532 know G1921 the truth. G225
But G1161 what G3739 I do, G4160 that G2532 I will do, G4160 that G2443 I may cut off G1581 occasion G874 from them which desire G2309 occasion; G874 that G2443 wherein G1722 G3739 they glory, G2744 they may be found G2147 even G2532 as G2531 we. G2249
If G1487 ye be reproached G3679 for G1722 the name G3686 of Christ, G5547 happy G3107 are ye; for G3754 the spirit G4151 of glory G1391 and G2532 of God G2316 resteth G373 upon G1909 you: G5209 on G2596 G3303 their part G846 he is evil spoken of, G987 but G1161 on G2596 your part G5209 he is glorified. G1392 But G1063 let G3958 none G3361 G5100 of you G5216 suffer G3958 as G5613 a murderer, G5406 or G2228 as a thief, G2812 or G2228 as an evildoer, G2555 or G2228 as G5613 a busybody in other men's matters. G244
Marriage G1062 is honourable G5093 in G1722 all, G3956 and G2532 the bed G2845 undefiled: G283 but G1161 whoremongers G4205 and G2532 adulterers G3432 God G2316 will judge. G2919
And Abraham H85 hastened H4116 into the tent H168 unto Sarah, H8283 and said, H559 Make ready quickly H4116 three H7969 measures H5429 of fine H5560 meal, H7058 knead H3888 it, and make H6213 cakes H5692 upon the hearth. H6213
I say G3004 therefore G1161 to the unmarried G22 and G2532 widows, G5503 It is G2076 good G2570 for them G846 if G1437 they abide G3306 even G2504 as G5613 I. G2504 But G1161 if G1487 they G1467 cannot G3756 contain, G1467 let them marry: G1060 for G1063 it is G2076 better G2909 to marry G1060 than G2228 to burn. G4448
And G2532 the people G2992 stood G2476 beholding. G2334 And G1161 the rulers G758 also G2532 with G4862 them G846 derided G1592 him, saying, G3004 He saved G4982 others; G243 let him save G4982 himself, G1438 if G1487 he G3778 be G2076 Christ, G5547 the chosen G1588 of God. G2316 And G1161 the soldiers G4757 also G2532 mocked G1702 him, G846 coming G4334 to him, and G2532 offering G4374 him G846 vinegar, G3690 And G2532 saying, G3004 If G1487 thou G4771 be G1488 the king G935 of the Jews, G2453 save G4982 thyself. G4572 And G1161 a superscription G1923 also G2532 was G2258 written G1125 over G1909 him G846 in letters G1121 of Greek, G1673 and G2532 Latin, G4513 and G2532 Hebrew, G1444 THIS G3778 IS G2076 THE KING G935 OF THE JEWS. G2453 And G1161 one G1520 of the malefactors G2557 which were hanged G2910 railed G987 on him, G846 saying, G3004 If G1487 thou G4771 be G1488 Christ, G5547 save G4982 thyself G4572 and G2532 us. G2248 But G1161 the other G2087 answering G611 rebuked G2008 him, G846 saying, G3004 Dost G5399 not G3761 thou G4771 fear G5399 God, G2316 seeing G3754 thou art G1488 in G1722 the same G846 condemnation? G2917 And G2532 we G2249 indeed G3303 justly; G1346 for G1063 we receive G618 the due reward G514 of our G3739 deeds: G4238 but G1161 this man G3778 hath done G4238 nothing G3762 amiss. G824
Then H116 the presidents H5632 and princes H324 sought H1934 H1156 to find H7912 occasion H5931 against Daniel H1841 concerning H6655 the kingdom; H4437 but H3606 they could H3202 find H7912 none H3809 occasion H5931 nor H3809 fault; H7844 forasmuch H6903 as he was faithful, H540 neither H3809 was there any H3606 error H7960 or fault H7844 found H7912 in him. H5922
She looketh well H6822 to the ways H1979 H1979 of her household, H1004 and eateth H398 not the bread H3899 of idleness. H6104 Her children H1121 arise up, H6965 and call her blessed; H833 her husband H1167 also, and he praiseth H1984 her. Many H7227 daughters H1323 have done H6213 virtuously, H2428 but thou excellest H5927 them all.
Every wise H2454 woman H802 buildeth H1129 her house: H1004 but the foolish H200 plucketh it down H2040 with her hands. H3027

Commentary on 1 Timothy 5 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 5
Here the apostle,
1Ti 5:1-2
Here the apostle gives rules to Timothy, and in him to other ministers, in reproving. Ministers are reprovers by office; it is a part, though the least pleasing part, of their office; they are to preach the word, to reprove and rebuke, 2 Tim. 4:2. A great difference is to be made in our reproofs, according to the age, quality, and other circumstances, of the persons rebuked; thus, and elder in age or office must be entreated as a father; on some have compassion, making a difference, Jude 22. Now the rule is,

Directions are here given concerning the taking of widows into the number of those who were employed by the church and had maintenance from the church: Honour widows that are widows indeed. Honour them, that is, maintain them, admit them into office. There was in those times an office in the church in which widows were employed, and that was to tend the sick and the aged, to look to them by the direction of the deacons. We read of the care taken of widows immediately upon the first forming of the Christian church (Acts 6:1), where the Grecians thought their widows were neglected in the daily ministration and provision made for poor widows. The general rule is to honour widows that are widows indeed, to maintain them, to relieve them with respect and tenderness.
