5 Therefore the LORD H3068 stablished H3559 the kingdom H4467 in his hand; H3027 and all Judah H3063 brought H5414 to Jehoshaphat H3092 presents; H4503 and he had riches H6239 and honour H3519 in abundance. H7230
And Hezekiah H3169 had exceeding H3966 much H7235 riches H6239 and honour: H3519 and he made H6213 himself treasuries H214 for silver, H3701 and for gold, H2091 and for precious H3368 stones, H68 and for spices, H1314 and for shields, H4043 and for all manner of pleasant H2532 jewels; H3627 Storehouses H4543 also for the increase H8393 of corn, H1715 and wine, H8492 and oil; H3323 and stalls H723 for all manner of beasts, H929 and cotes H220 for flocks. H5739 Moreover he provided H6213 him cities, H5892 and possessions H4735 of flocks H6629 and herds H1241 in abundance: H7230 for God H430 had given H5414 him substance H7399 very H3966 much. H7227
And if thou wilt walk H3212 before H6440 me, as David H1732 thy father H1 walked, H1980 in integrity H8537 of heart, H3824 and in uprightness, H3476 to do H6213 according to all that I have commanded H6680 thee, and wilt keep H8104 my statutes H2706 and my judgments: H4941 Then I will establish H6965 the throne H3678 of thy kingdom H4467 upon Israel H3478 for ever, H5769 as I promised H1696 to David H1732 thy father, H1 saying, H559 There shall not fail H3772 thee a man H376 upon the throne H3678 of Israel. H3478
And now, O LORD H3068 God, H430 the word H1697 that thou hast spoken H1696 concerning thy servant, H5650 and concerning his house, H1004 establish H6965 it for H5704 ever, H5769 and do H6213 as thou hast said. H1696 And let thy name H8034 be magnified H1431 for H5704 ever, H5769 saying, H559 The LORD H3068 of hosts H6635 is the God H430 over Israel: H3478 and let the house H1004 of thy servant H5650 David H1732 be established H3559 before H6440 thee.
And when thy herds H1241 and thy flocks H6629 multiply, H7235 and thy silver H3701 and thy gold H2091 is multiplied, H7235 and all that thou hast is multiplied; H7235 Then thine heart H3824 be lifted up, H7311 and thou forget H7911 the LORD H3068 thy God, H430 which brought thee forth H3318 out of the land H776 of Egypt, H4714 from the house H1004 of bondage; H5650
And the man H376 waxed great, H1431 and went H3212 forward, H1980 and grew H1432 until he became H1431 very H3966 great: H1431 For he had possession H4735 of flocks, H6629 and possession H4735 of herds, H1241 and great store H7227 of servants: H5657 and the Philistines H6430 envied H7065 him.

Commentary on 2 Chronicles 17 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 17
Here begin the life and reign of Jehoshaphat, who was one of the first three among the royal worthies, one of the best that ever swayed the sceptre of Judah since David's head was laid. He was the good son of a good father, so that, at this time, grace ran in the blood, even in the blood-royal. Happy the son that had such a father, to lay a good foundation in him and for him. Happy the father that had such a son, to build so wall upon the foundation he had laid! Happy the kingdom that was blessed with two such kings, two such reigns, together! In this chapter we have,
Thus was his prosperity the reward of his piety and his piety the brightest grace and ornament of his prosperity.
