27 And Ahaz H271 slept H7901 with his fathers, H1 and they buried H6912 him in the city, H5892 even in Jerusalem: H3389 but they brought H935 him not into the sepulchres H6913 of the kings H4428 of Israel: H3478 and Hezekiah H3169 his son H1121 reigned H4427 in his stead.
Thirty H7970 and two H8147 years old H1121 was he when he began to reign, H4427 and he reigned H4427 in Jerusalem H3389 eight H8083 years, H8141 and departed H3212 without being desired. H2532 Howbeit they buried H6912 him in the city H5892 of David, H1732 but not in the sepulchres H6913 of the kings. H4428
And when they were departed H3212 from him, (for they left H5800 him in great H7227 diseases,) H4251 his own servants H5650 conspired H7194 against him for the blood H1818 of the sons H1121 of Jehoiada H3077 the priest, H3548 and slew H2026 him on his bed, H4296 and he died: H4191 and they buried H6912 him in the city H5892 of David, H1732 but they buried H6912 him not in the sepulchres H6913 of the kings. H4428
Wherefore the LORD H3068 God H430 of Israel H3478 saith, H5002 I said H559 indeed H559 that thy house, H1004 and the house H1004 of thy father, H1 should walk H1980 before H6440 me for H5704 ever: H5769 but now the LORD H3068 saith, H5002 Be it far from me; H2486 for them that honour H3513 me I will honour, H3513 and they that despise H959 me shall be lightly esteemed. H7043
So Uzziah H5818 slept H7901 with his fathers, H1 and they buried H6912 him with his fathers H1 in the field H7704 of the burial H6900 which belonged to the kings; H4428 for they said, H559 He is a leper: H6879 and Jotham H3147 his son H1121 reigned H4427 in his stead.

Chapter 28
This chapter is the history of the reign of Ahaz the son of Jotham; a bad reign it was, and which helped to augment the fierce anger of the Lord. We have here,
2Ch 28:1-5
Never surely had a man greater opportunity of doing well than Ahaz had, finding things in a good posture, the kingdom rich and strong and religion established; and yet here we have him in these few verses,
2Ch 28:6-15
We have here,
2Ch 28:16-27
Here is,
The chapter concludes with the conclusion of the reign of Ahaz, v. 26, 27. For aught that appears, he died impenitent, and therefore died inglorious; for he was not buried in the sepulchres of the kings. Justly was he thought unworthy to be laid among them who was so unlike them-to be buried with kings who had used his kingly power for the destruction of the church and not for its protection or edification.
