16 For which cause G1352 we faint G1573 not; G3756 but G235 though G1499 our G2257 outward G1854 man G444 perish, G1311 yet G235 the inward G2081 man is renewed G341 day G2250 by G2532 day. G2250
But they that wait H6960 upon the LORD H3068 shall renew H2498 their strength; H3581 they shall mount up H5927 with wings H83 as eagles; H5404 they shall run, H7323 and not be weary; H3021 and they shall walk, H3212 and not faint. H3286
And G2532 be G4964 not G3361 conformed G4964 to this G5129 world: G165 but G235 be ye transformed G3339 by the renewing G342 of your G5216 mind, G3563 that G1519 ye G5209 may prove G1381 what G5101 is that good, G18 and G2532 acceptable, G2101 and G2532 perfect, G5046 will G2307 of God. G2316
And G1161 I G1473 will very gladly G2236 spend G1159 and G2532 be spent G1550 for G5228 you; G5590 G5216 though G1499 the more abundantly G4056 I love G25 you, G5209 the less G2276 I be loved. G25
That G2443 he would grant G1325 you, G5213 according to G2596 the riches G4149 of his G846 glory, G1391 to be strengthened G2901 with might G1411 by G1223 his G846 Spirit G4151 in G1519 the inner G2080 man; G444
Create H1254 in me a clean H2889 heart, H3820 O God; H430 and renew H2318 a right H3559 spirit H7307 within H7130 me.
Therefore, G5620 my G3450 beloved G27 brethren, G80 be ye G1096 stedfast, G1476 unmoveable, G277 always G3842 abounding G4052 in G1722 the work G2041 of the Lord, G2962 forasmuch as ye know G1492 that G3754 your G5216 labour G2873 is G2076 not G3756 in vain G2756 in G1722 the Lord. G2962
And G1161 if G1487 thy G4675 right G1188 eye G3788 offend G4624 thee, G4571 pluck G1807 it G846 out, G1807 and G2532 cast G906 it from G575 thee: G4675 for G1063 it is profitable G4851 for thee G4671 that G2443 one G1520 of thy G4675 members G3196 should perish, G622 and G2532 not G3361 that thy G4675 whole G3650 body G4983 should be cast G906 into G1519 hell. G1067 And G2532 if G1487 thy G4675 right G1188 hand G5495 offend G4624 thee, G4571 cut G1581 it G846 off, G1581 and G2532 cast G906 it from G575 thee: G4675 for G1063 it is profitable G4851 for thee G4671 that G2443 one G1520 of thy G4675 members G3196 should perish, G622 and G2532 not G3361 that thy G4675 whole G3650 body G4983 should be cast G906 into G1519 hell. G1067
The righteous H6662 perisheth, H6 and no man H376 layeth H7760 it to heart: H3820 and merciful H2617 men H582 are taken away, H622 none considering H995 that the righteous H6662 is taken away H622 from H6440 the evil H7451 to come. He shall enter H935 into peace: H7965 they shall rest H5117 in their beds, H4904 each one walking H1980 in his uprightness. H5228
My flesh H7607 and my heart H3824 faileth: H3615 but God H430 is the strength H6697 of my heart, H3824 and my portion H2506 for ever. H5769
I had fainted, unless H3884 I had believed H539 to see H7200 the goodness H2898 of the LORD H3068 in the land H776 of the living. H2416

Commentary on 2 Corinthians 4 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 4
In this chapter we have an account,
2Cr 4:1-7
The apostle had, in the foregoing chapter, been magnifying his office, upon the consideration of the excellency or glory of that gospel about which he did officiate; and now in this chapter his design is to vindicate their ministry from the accusation of false teachers, who charged them as deceitful workers, or endeavoured to prejudice the minds of the people against them on account of their sufferings. He tells them, therefore, how they believed, and how they showed their value for their office as ministers of the gospel. They were not puffed up with pride, but spurred on to great diligence: "Seeing we have this ministry, are so much distinguished and dignified, we do not take state upon ourselves, nor indulge in idleness, but are excited to the better performance of our duty.'
2Cr 4:8-18
In these verses the apostle gives an account of their courage and patience under all their sufferings, where observe,
