19 And Pul H6322 the king H4428 of Assyria H804 came H935 against the land: H776 and Menahem H4505 gave H5414 Pul H6322 a thousand H505 talents H3603 of silver, H3701 that his hand H3027 might be with him to confirm H2388 the kingdom H4467 in his hand. H3027
And they transgressed H4603 against the God H430 of their fathers, H1 and went a whoring H2181 after H310 the gods H430 of the people H5971 of the land, H776 whom God H430 destroyed H8045 before H6440 them. And the God H430 of Israel H3478 stirred up H5782 the spirit H7307 of Pul H6322 king H4428 of Assyria, H804 and the spirit H7307 of Tilgathpilneser H8407 king H4428 of Assyria, H804 and he carried them away, H1540 even the Reubenites, H7206 and the Gadites, H1425 and the half H2677 tribe H7626 of Manasseh, H4519 and brought H935 them unto Halah, H2477 and Habor, H2249 and Hara, H2024 and to the river H5104 Gozan, H1470 unto this day. H3117
Against him came up H5927 Shalmaneser H8022 king H4428 of Assyria; H804 and Hoshea H1954 became his servant, H5650 and gave H7725 him presents. H4503 And the king H4428 of Assyria H804 found H4672 conspiracy H7195 in Hoshea: H1954 for he had sent H7971 messengers H4397 to So H5471 king H4428 of Egypt, H4714 and brought H5927 no present H4503 to the king H4428 of Assyria, H804 as he had done year H8141 by year: H8141 therefore the king H4428 of Assyria H804 shut him up, H6113 and bound H631 him in prison. H1004 H3608
For they are gone up H5927 to Assyria, H804 a wild ass H6501 alone H909 by himself: Ephraim H669 hath hired H8566 lovers. H158 Yea, though they have hired H8566 among the nations, H1471 now will I gather H6908 them, and they shall sorrow H2490 a little H4592 for the burden H4853 of the king H4428 of princes. H8269

Commentary on 2 Kings 15 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 15
In this chapter,
2Ki 15:1-7
This is a short account of the reign of Azariah.
2Ki 15:8-31
The best days of the kingdom of Israel were while the government was in Jehu's family. In his reign, and the next three reigns, though there were many abominable corruptions and miserable grievances in Israel, yet the crown went in succession, the kings died in their beds, and some care was taken of public affairs; but, now that those days are at an end, the history which we have in these verses of about thirty-three years represents the affairs of that kingdom in the utmost confusion imaginable. Woe to those that were with child (v. 16) and to those that gave suck in those days, for then must needs be great tribulations, when, for the transgression of the land, many were the princes thereof.
2Ki 15:32-38
We have here a short account of the reign of Jotham king of Judah, of whom we are told,
