40 And at the time H6256 of the end H7093 shall the king H4428 of the south H5045 push H5055 at him: and the king H4428 of the north H6828 shall come against him like a whirlwind, H8175 with chariots, H7393 and with horsemen, H6571 and with many H7227 ships; H591 and he shall enter H935 into the countries, H776 and shall overflow H7857 and pass over. H5674
Whose arrows H2671 are sharp, H8150 and all their bows H7198 bent, H1869 their horses' H5483 hoofs H6541 shall be counted H2803 like flint, H6862 and their wheels H1534 like a whirlwind: H5492
But his sons H1121 shall be stirred up, H1624 and shall assemble H622 a multitude H1995 of great H7227 forces: H2428 and one shall certainly H935 come, H935 and overflow, H7857 and pass through: H5674 then shall he return, H7725 and be stirred up, H1624 even to his fortress. H4581
The burden H4853 of the desert H4057 of the sea. H3220 As whirlwinds H5492 in the south H5045 pass H2498 through; so it cometh H935 from the desert, H4057 from a terrible H3372 land. H776
Behold, he shall come up H5927 as clouds, H6051 and his chariots H4818 shall be as a whirlwind: H5492 his horses H5483 are swifter H7043 than eagles. H5404 Woe H188 unto us! for we are spoiled. H7703
And I will turn thee back, H7725 and put H5414 hooks H2397 into thy jaws, H3895 and I will bring thee forth, H3318 and all thine army, H2428 horses H5483 and horsemen, H6571 all of them clothed H3847 with all sorts H4358 of armour, even a great H7227 company H6951 with bucklers H6793 and shields, H4043 all of them handling H8610 swords: H2719
But thou, O Daniel, H1840 shut up H5640 the words, H1697 and seal H2856 the book, H5612 even to the time H6256 of the end: H7093 many H7227 shall run to and fro, H7751 and knowledge H1847 shall be increased. H7235
Therefore, son H1121 of man, H120 prophesy H5012 and say H559 unto Gog, H1463 Thus saith H559 the Lord H136 GOD; H3069 In that day H3117 when my people H5971 of Israel H3478 dwelleth H3427 safely, H983 shalt thou not know H3045 it? And thou shalt come H935 from thy place H4725 out of the north H6828 parts, H3411 thou, and many H7227 people H5971 with thee, all of them riding H7392 upon horses, H5483 a great H1419 company, H6951 and a mighty H7227 army: H2428 And thou shalt come up H5927 against my people H5971 of Israel, H3478 as a cloud H6051 to cover H3680 the land; H776 it shall be in the latter H319 days, H3117 and I will bring H935 thee against my land, H776 that the heathen H1471 may know H3045 me, when I shall be sanctified H6942 in thee, O Gog, H1463 before their eyes. H5869 Thus saith H559 the Lord H136 GOD; H3069 Art thou he of whom I have spoken H1696 in old H6931 time H3117 by H3027 my servants H5650 the prophets H5030 of Israel, H3478 which prophesied H5012 in those days H3117 many years H8141 that I would bring H935 thee against them? And it shall come to pass at the same time H3117 when H3117 Gog H1463 shall come H935 against the land H127 of Israel, H3478 saith H5002 the Lord H136 GOD, H3069 that my fury H2534 shall come up H5927 in my face. H639
So he came H935 near H681 where I stood: H5977 and when he came, H935 I was afraid, H1204 and fell H5307 upon my face: H6440 but he said H559 unto me, Understand, H995 O son H1121 of man: H120 for at the time H6256 of the end H7093 shall be the vision. H2377
And the king H4428 of the south H5045 shall be strong, H2388 and one of his princes; H8269 and he shall be strong H2388 above him, and have dominion; H4910 his dominion H4475 shall be a great H7227 dominion. H4474 And in the end H7093 of years H8141 they shall join themselves together; H2266 for the king's H4428 daughter H1323 of the south H5045 shall come H935 to the king H4428 of the north H6828 to make H6213 an agreement: H4339 but she shall not retain H6113 the power H3581 of the arm; H2220 neither shall he stand, H5975 nor his arm: H2220 but she shall be given up, H5414 and they that brought H935 her, and he that begat H3205 her, and he that strengthened H2388 her in these times. H6256
And with the arms H2220 of a flood H7858 shall they be overflown H7857 from before H6440 him, and shall be broken; H7665 yea, also the prince H5057 of the covenant. H1285
Yea, they that feed H398 of the portion of his meat H6598 shall destroy H7665 him, and his army H2428 shall overflow: H7857 and many H7227 shall fall H5307 down slain. H2491 And both H8147 these kings' H4428 hearts H3824 shall be to do mischief, H4827 H7451 and they shall speak H1696 lies H3577 at one H259 table; H7979 but it shall not prosper: H6743 for yet the end H7093 shall be at the time appointed. H4150
And G2532 the sixth G1623 angel G32 poured out G1632 his G846 vial G5357 upon G1909 the great G3173 river G4215 Euphrates; G2166 and G2532 the water G5204 thereof G846 was dried up, G3583 that G2443 the way G3598 of the kings G935 of G575 the east G395 G2246 might be prepared. G2090

Commentary on Daniel 11 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 11
The angel Gabriel, in this chapter, performs his promise made to Daniel in the foregoing chapter, that he would "show him what should befal his people in the latter days,' according to that which was "written in the scriptures of truth:' very particularly does he here foretel the succession of the kings of Persia and Grecia, and the affairs of their kingdoms, especially the mischief which Antiochus Epiphanes did in his time to the church, which was foretold before (ch. 8:11-12). Here is,
Dan 11:1-4
Here,
Dan 11:5-20
Here are foretold,
Dan 11:21-45
All this is a prophecy of the reign of Antiochus Epiphanes, the little horn spoken of before (ch. 8:9) a sworn enemy to the Jewish religion, and a bitter persecutor of those that adhered to it. What troubles the Jews met with in the reigns of the Persian kings were not so particularly foretold to Daniel as these, because then they had living prophets with them, Haggai and Zechariah, to encourage them; but these troubles in the days of Antiochus were foretold, because, before that time, prophecy would cease, and they would find it necessary to have recourse to the written word. Some things in this prediction concerning Antiochus are alluded to in the New-Testament predictions of the antichrist, especially v. 36, 37. And as it is usual with the prophets, when they foretel the prosperity of the Jewish church, to make use of such expressions as were applicable to the kingdom of Christ, and insensibly to slide into a prophecy of that, so, when they foretel the troubles of the church, they make use of such expressions as have a further reference to the kingdom of the antichrist, the rise and ruin of that. Now concerning Antiochus, the angel foretels here,
Of the kings that came after Antiochus nothing is here prophesied, for that was the most malicious mischievous enemy to the church, that was a type of the son of perdition, whom the Lord shall consume with the breath of his mouth and destroy with the brightness of his coming, and none shall help him.
