5 And thou shalt speak H6030 and say H559 before H6440 the LORD H3068 thy God, H430 A Syrian H761 ready to perish H6 was my father, H1 and he went down H3381 into Egypt, H4714 and sojourned H1481 there with H4962 a few, H4592 and became there a nation, H1471 great, H1419 mighty, H6099 and populous: H7227
Thy fathers H1 went down H3381 into Egypt H4714 with threescore and ten H7657 persons; H5315 and now the LORD H3068 thy God H430 hath made H7760 thee as the stars H3556 of heaven H8064 for multitude. H7230
And the sons H1121 of Joseph, H3130 which were born H3205 him in Egypt, H4714 were two H8147 souls: H5315 all the souls H5315 of the house H1004 of Jacob, H3290 which came H935 into Egypt, H4714 were threescore and ten. H7657
So G1161 Jacob G2384 went down G2597 into G1519 Egypt, G125 and G2532 died, G5053 he, G846 and G2532 our G2257 fathers, G3962
And God H430 sent H7971 me before you H6440 to preserve H7760 you a posterity H7611 in the earth, H776 and to save your lives H2421 by a great H1419 deliverance. H6413
Hearken H8085 to me, ye that follow after H7291 righteousness, H6664 ye that seek H1245 the LORD: H3068 look H5027 unto the rock H6697 whence ye are hewn, H2672 and to the hole H4718 of the pit H953 whence ye are digged. H5365 Look H5027 unto Abraham H85 your father, H1 and unto Sarah H8283 that bare H2342 you: for I called H7121 him alone, H259 and blessed H1288 him, and increased H7235 him.
But thou shalt go H3212 unto my country, H776 and to my kindred, H4138 and take H3947 a wife H802 unto my son H1121 Isaac. H3327
And Israel H3478 dwelt H3427 in the land H776 of Egypt, H4714 in the country H776 of Goshen; H1657 and they had possessions H270 therein, and grew, H6509 and multiplied H7235 exceedingly. H3966
And Israel H3478 took his journey H5265 with all that he had, and came H935 to Beersheba, H884 and offered H2076 sacrifices H2077 unto the God H430 of his father H1 Isaac. H3327 And God H430 spake H559 unto Israel H3478 in the visions H4759 of the night, H3915 and said, H559 Jacob, H3290 Jacob. H3290 And he said, H559 Here am I. And he said, H559 I am God, H410 the God H430 of thy father: H1 fear H3372 not to go down H3381 into Egypt; H4714 for I will there make H7760 of thee a great H1419 nation: H1471 I will go down H3381 with thee into Egypt; H4714 and I will also surely H5927 bring thee up H5927 again: and Joseph H3130 shall put H7896 his hand H3027 upon thine eyes. H5869 And Jacob H3290 rose up H6965 from Beersheba: H884 and the sons H1121 of Israel H3478 carried H5375 Jacob H3290 their father, H1 and their little ones, H2945 and their wives, H802 in the wagons H5699 which Pharaoh H6547 had sent H7971 to carry H5375 him. And they took H3947 their cattle, H4735 and their goods, H7399 which they had gotten H7408 in the land H776 of Canaan, H3667 and came H935 into Egypt, H4714 Jacob, H3290 and all his seed H2233 with him: His sons, H1121 and his sons' H1121 sons H1121 with him, his daughters, H1323 and his sons' H1121 daughters, H1323 and all his seed H2233 brought he H935 with him into Egypt. H4714
And God H430 came H935 to Laban H3837 the Syrian H761 in a dream H2472 by night, H3915 and said H559 unto him, Take heed H8104 that thou speak H1696 not to H5973 Jacob H3290 either good H2896 or H5704 bad. H7451
And Esau H6215 hated H7852 Jacob H3290 because H5921 of the blessing H1293 wherewith H834 his father H1 blessed him: H1288 and Esau H6215 said H559 in his heart, H3820 The days H3117 of mourning H60 for my father H1 are at hand; H7126 then will I slay H2026 my brother H251 Jacob. H3290

Commentary on Deuteronomy 26 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 26
With this chapter Moses concludes the particular statutes which he thought fit to give Israel in charge at his parting with them; what follows is by way of sanction and ratification. In this chapter,
Deu 26:1-11
Here is,
Deu 26:12-15
Concerning the disposal of their tithe the third year we had the law before, ch. 14:28, 29. The second tithe, which in the other two years was to be spent in extraordinaries at the feasts, was to be spent the third year at home, in entertaining the poor. Now because this was done from under the eye of the priests, and a great confidence was put in the people's honesty, that they would dispose of it according to the law, to the Levite, the stranger, and the fatherless (v. 12), it is therefore required that when at the next feast after they appeared before the Lord they should there testify (as it were) upon oath, in a religious manner, that they had fully administered, and been true to their trust.
Deu 26:16-19
Two things Moses here urges to enforce all these precepts:-
