12 And the LORD H3068 said H559 unto Moses, H4872 Come up H5927 to me into the mount, H2022 and be there: and I will give H5414 thee tables H3871 of stone, H68 and a law, H8451 and commandments H4687 which I have written; H3789 that thou mayest teach H3384 them.
And he gave H5414 unto Moses, H4872 when he had made an end H3615 of communing H1696 with him upon mount H2022 Sinai, H5514 two H8147 tables H3871 of testimony, H5715 tables H3871 of stone, H68 written H3789 with the finger H676 of God. H430
And Moses H4872 turned, H6437 and went down H3381 from the mount, H2022 and the two H8147 tables H3871 of the testimony H5715 were in his hand: H3027 the tables H3871 were written H3789 on both H8147 their sides; H5676 on the one side and on the other were they written. H3789 And the tables H3871 were the work H4639 of God, H430 and the writing H4385 was the writing H4385 of God, H430 graven H2801 upon the tables. H3871
These words H1697 the LORD H3068 spake H1696 unto all your assembly H6951 in the mount H2022 out of the midst H8432 of the fire, H784 of the cloud, H6051 and of the thick darkness, H6205 with a great H1419 voice: H6963 and he added no more. H3254 And he wrote H3789 them in two H8147 tables H3871 of stone, H68 and delivered H5414 them unto me.
And Moses H4872 alone shall come near H5066 the LORD: H3068 but they shall not come nigh; H5066 neither shall the people H5971 go up H5927 with him.
And the LORD H3068 commanded H6680 me at that time H6256 to teach H3925 you statutes H2706 and judgments, H4941 that ye might do H6213 them in the land H776 whither ye go over H5674 to possess H3423 it.
But this shall be the covenant H1285 that I will make H3772 with the house H1004 of Israel; H3478 After H310 those days, H3117 saith H5002 the LORD, H3068 I will put H5414 my law H8451 in their inward parts, H7130 and write H3789 it in their hearts; H3820 and will be their God, H430 and they shall be my people. H5971
Whosoever G3739 G1437 therefore G3767 shall break G3089 one G3391 of these G5130 least G1646 commandments, G1785 and G2532 shall teach G1321 men G444 so, G3779 he shall be called G2564 the least G1646 in G1722 the kingdom G932 of heaven: G3772 but G1161 whosoever G3739 G302 shall do G4160 and G2532 teach G1321 them, the same G3778 shall be called G2564 great G3173 in G1722 the kingdom G932 of heaven. G3772
Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared G5319 to G3754 be G2075 the epistle G1992 of Christ G5547 ministered G1247 by G5259 us, G2257 written G1449 not G3756 with ink, G3188 but G235 with the Spirit G4151 of the living G2198 God; G2316 not G3756 in G1722 tables G4109 of stone, G3035 but G235 in G1722 fleshy G4560 tables G4109 of the heart. G2588
But G1161 if G1487 the ministration G1248 of death, G2288 written G1722 G1121 and engraven G1795 in G1722 stones, G3037 was G1096 glorious, G1722 G1391 so G5620 that the children G5207 of Israel G2474 could G1410 not G3361 stedfastly behold G816 the face G1519 G4383 of Moses G3475 for G1223 the glory G1391 of his G846 countenance; G4383 which G3588 glory was to be done away: G2673
Which had G2192 the golden G5552 censer, G2369 and G2532 the ark G2787 of the covenant G1242 overlaid G4028 round about G3840 with gold, G5553 wherein G1722 G3739 was the golden G5552 pot G4713 that had G2192 manna, G3131 and G2532 Aaron's G2 rod G4464 that budded, G985 and G2532 the tables G4109 of the covenant; G1242

Commentary on Exodus 24 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 24
Moses, as mediator between God and Israel, having received divers laws and ordinances from God privately in the three foregoing chapters, in this chapter,
Exd 24:1-8
The first two verses record the appointment of a second session upon mount Sinai, for the making of laws, when an end was put to the first. When a communion is begun between God and us, it shall never fail on his side, if it do not first fail on ours. Moses is directed to bring Aaron and his sons, and the seventy elders of Israel, that they might be witnesses of the glory of God, and that communion with him to which Moses was admitted; and that their testimony might confirm the people's faith. In this approach,
In the following verses, we have the solemn covenant made between God and Israel, and the exchanging of the ratifications; and a very solemn transaction it was, typifying the covenant of grace between God and believers through Christ.
This is the tenour of the covenant, That, if they would observe the foregoing precepts, God would perform the foregoing promises. "Obey, and be happy.' Here is the bargain made. Observe,
Exd 24:9-11
The people having, besides their submission to the ceremony of the sprinkling of blood, declared their well-pleasedness in their God and his law, again and again, God here gives to their representatives some special tokens of his favour to them (for God meets him that rejoices and works righteousness), and admits them nearer to him than they could have expected. Thus, in the New-Testament church, we find the four living creatures, and the four and twenty elders, honoured with places round the throne, being redeemed unto God by the blood of the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne, Rev. 4:4, 6; 5:8, 9. Observe,
Exd 24:12-18
The public ceremony of sealing the covenant being over, Moses is called up to receive further instructions, which we have in the following chapters.
