5 Then said H559 he unto me, Son H1121 of man, H120 lift up H5375 thine eyes H5869 now the way H1870 toward the north. H6828 So I lifted up H5375 mine eyes H5869 the way H1870 toward the north, H6828 and behold northward H6828 at the gate H8179 of the altar H4196 this image H5566 of jealousy H7068 in the entry. H872
And he put forth H7971 the form H8403 of an hand, H3027 and took H3947 me by a lock H6734 of mine head; H7218 and the spirit H7307 lifted me up H5375 between the earth H776 and the heaven, H8064 and brought H935 me in the visions H4759 of God H430 to Jerusalem, H3389 to the door H6607 of the inner H6442 gate H8179 that looketh H6437 toward the north; H6828 where was the seat H4186 of the image H5566 of jealousy, H7068 which provoketh to jealousy. H7069
Lift up H5375 thine eyes H5869 unto the high places, H8205 and see H7200 where H375 thou hast not been lien H7693 H7901 with. In the ways H1870 hast thou sat H3427 for them, as the Arabian H6163 in the wilderness; H4057 and thou hast polluted H2610 the land H776 with thy whoredoms H2184 and with thy wickedness. H7451
For they provoked him to anger H3707 with their high places, H1116 and moved him to jealousy H7065 with their graven images. H6456
But they set H7760 their abominations H8251 in the house, H1004 which is called H7121 by my name, H8034 to defile H2930 it.
Then the angel H4397 that talked H1696 with me went forth, H3318 and said H559 unto me, Lift up H5375 now thine eyes, H5869 and see H7200 what is this that goeth forth. H3318 And I said, H559 What is it? And he said, H559 This is an ephah H374 that goeth forth. H3318 He said H559 moreover, This is their resemblance H5869 through all the earth. H776 And, behold, there was lifted up H5375 a talent H3603 of lead: H5777 and this is a H259 woman H802 that sitteth H3427 in the midst H8432 of the ephah. H374 And he said, H559 This is wickedness. H7564 And he cast H7993 it into the midst H8432 of the ephah; H374 and he cast H7993 the weight H68 of lead H5777 upon the mouth H6310 thereof. Then lifted I up H5375 mine eyes, H5869 and looked, H7200 and, behold, there came out H3318 two H8147 women, H802 and the wind H7307 was in their wings; H3671 for they had H2007 wings H3671 like the wings H3671 of a stork: H2624 and they lifted up H5375 the ephah H374 between the earth H776 and the heaven. H8064 Then said H559 I to the angel H4397 that talked H1696 with me, Whither do these bear H3212 the ephah? H374 And he said H559 unto me, To build H1129 it an house H1004 in the land H776 of Shinar: H8152 and it shall be established, H3559 and set H3240 there upon her own base. H4369

Commentary on Ezekiel 8 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 8
God, having given the prophet a clear foresight of the people's miseries that were hastening on, here gives him a clear insight into the people's wickedness, by which God was provoked to bring these miseries upon them, that he might justify God in all his judgments, might the more particularly reprove the sins of the people, and with the more satisfaction foretel their ruin. Here God, in vision, brings him to Jerusalem, to show him the sins that were committed there, though God had begun to contend with them (v. 1-4), and there he sees,
Eze 8:1-6
Ezekiel was now in Babylon; but the messages of wrath he had delivered in the foregoing chapters related to Jerusalem, for in the peace or trouble thereof the captives looked upon themselves to have peace or trouble, and therefore here he has a vision of what was done at Jerusalem, and this vision is continued to the close of the 11th chapter.
Eze 8:7-12
We have here a further discovery of the abominations that were committed at Jerusalem, and within the confines of the temple, too. Now observe,
Eze 8:13-18
Here we have,
