3 But G235 neither G3761 Titus, G5103 who G3588 was with G4862 me, G1698 being G5607 a Greek, G1672 was compelled G315 to be circumcised: G4059
Him G5126 would G2309 Paul G3972 have to go forth G1831 with G4862 him; G846 and G2532 took G2983 and circumcised G4059 him G846 because G1223 of the Jews G2453 which G3588 were G5607 in G1722 those G1565 quarters: G5117 for G1063 they knew G1492 all G537 that G3754 his G846 father G3962 was G5225 a Greek. G1672
Behold, G2396 I G1473 Paul G3972 say G3004 unto you, G5213 that G3754 if G1437 ye be circumcised, G4059 Christ G5547 shall profit G5623 you G5209 nothing. G3762 For G1161 I testify G3143 again G3825 to every G3956 man G444 that is circumcised, G4059 that G3754 he is G2076 a debtor G3781 to do G4160 the whole G3650 law. G3551 Christ G5547 is become of no effect unto you, G575 G2673 whosoever of you G3748 are justified G1344 by G1722 the law; G3551 ye are fallen from G1601 grace. G5485 For G1063 we G2249 through the Spirit G4151 wait for G553 the hope G1680 of righteousness G1343 by G1537 faith. G4102 For G1063 in G1722 Jesus G2424 Christ G5547 neither G3777 circumcision G4061 availeth G2480 any thing, G5100 nor G3777 uncircumcision; G203 but G235 faith G4102 which worketh G1754 by G1223 love. G26
And G2532 unto the Jews G2453 I became G1096 as G5613 a Jew, G2453 that G2443 I might gain G2770 the Jews; G2453 to them that are under G5259 the law, G3551 as G5613 under G5259 the law, G3551 that G2443 I might gain G2770 them that are under G5259 the law; G3551 To them that are without law, G459 as G5613 without law, G459 (being G5607 not G3361 without law G459 to God, G2316 but G235 under the law G1772 to Christ,) G5547 that G2443 I might gain G2770 them that are without law. G459
Forasmuch as G1894 we have heard, G191 that G3754 certain G5100 which went out G1831 from G1537 us G2257 have troubled G5015 you G5209 with words, G3056 subverting G384 your G5216 souls, G5590 saying, G3004 Ye must be circumcised, G4059 and G2532 keep G5083 the law: G3551 to whom G3739 we gave G1291 no G3756 such commandment: G1291

Commentary on Galatians 2 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 2
The apostle, in this chapter, continues the relation of his past life and conduct, which he had begun in the former; and, by some further instances of what had passed between him and the other apostles, makes it appear that he was not beholden to them either for his knowledge of the gospel or his authority as an apostle, as his adversaries would insinuate; but, on the contrary, that he was owned and approved even by them, as having an equal commission with them to this office.
Gal 2:1-10
It should seem, by the account Paul gives of himself in this chapter, that, from the very first preaching and planting of Christianity, there was a difference of apprehension between those Christians who had first been Jews and those who had first been Gentiles. Many of those who had first been Jews retained a regard to the ceremonial law, and strove to keep up the reputation of that; but those who had first been Gentiles had no regard to the law of Moses, but took pure Christianity as perfective of natural religion, and resolved to adhere to that. Peter was the apostle to them; and the ceremonial law, though dead with Christ, yet not being as yet buried, he connived at the respect kept up for it. But Paul was the apostle of the Gentiles; and, though he was a Hebrew of the Hebrews, yet he adhered to pure Christianity. Now in this chapter he tells us what passed between him and the other apostles, and particularly between him and Peter hereupon.
In these verses he informs us of another journey which he took to Jerusalem, and of what passed between him and the other apostles there, v. 1-10. Here he acquaints us,
