6 And Abraham H85 hastened H4116 into the tent H168 unto Sarah, H8283 and said, H559 Make ready quickly H4116 three H7969 measures H5429 of fine H5560 meal, H7058 knead H3888 it, and make H6213 cakes H5692 upon the hearth. H6213
But the liberal H5081 deviseth H3289 liberal things; H5081 and by liberal things H5081 shall he stand. H6965
Another G243 parable G3850 spake he G2980 unto them; G846 The kingdom G932 of heaven G3772 is G2076 like G3664 unto leaven, G2219 which G3739 a woman G1135 took, G2983 and hid G1470 in G1519 three G5140 measures G4568 of meal, G224 till G2193 the whole G3650 was G3739 leavened. G2220
Now G1161 it came to pass, G1096 as G1722 they G846 went, G4198 that G2532 he G846 entered G1525 into G1519 a certain G5100 village: G2968 and G1161 a certain G5100 woman G1135 named G3686 Martha G3136 received G5264 him G846 into G1519 her G846 house. G3624 And G2532 she G3592 had G2258 a sister G79 called G2564 Mary, G3137 which G3739 also G2532 sat G3869 at G3844 Jesus' G2424 feet, G4228 and heard G191 his G846 word. G3056 But G1161 Martha G3136 was cumbered G4049 about G4012 much G4183 serving, G1248 and G1161 came to him, G2186 and said, G2036 Lord, G2962 dost G3199 thou G4671 not G3756 care G3199 that G3754 my G3450 sister G79 hath left G2641 me G3165 to serve G1247 alone? G3441 bid G2036 her G846 therefore G3767 that G2443 she help G4878 me. G3427
And G1161 when G5613 she was baptized, G907 and G2532 her G846 household, G3624 she besought G3870 us, saying, G3004 If G1487 ye have judged G2919 me G3165 to be G1511 faithful G4103 to the Lord, G2962 come G1525 into G1519 my G3450 house, G3624 and abide G3306 there. And G2532 she constrained G3849 us. G2248

Commentary on Genesis 18 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 18
We have an account in this chapter of another interview between God and Abraham, probably within a few days after the former, as the reward of his cheerful obedience to the law of circumcision. Here is,
Gen 18:1-8
The appearance of God to Abraham seems to have had in it more of freedom and familiarity, and less of grandeur and majesty, than those we have hitherto read of; and therefore more resembles that great visit which, in the fullness of time, the Son of God was to make to the world, when the Word would be flesh, and appear as one of us. Observe here,
Gen 18:9-15
These heavenly guests (being sent to confirm the promise lately made to Abraham, that he should have a son by Sarah), while they are receiving Abraham's kind entertainment, they return his kindness. He receives angels, and has angels' rewards, a gracious message from heaven, Mt. 10:41.
Gen 18:16-22
The messengers from heaven had now despatched one part of their business, which was an errand of grace to Abraham and Sarah, and which they delivered first; but now they have before them work of another nature. Sodom is to be destroyed, and they must do it, ch. 19:13. Note, As with the Lord there is mercy, so he is the God to whom vengeance belongs. Pursuant to their commission, we here find,
Gen 18:23-33
Communion with God is kept up by the word and by prayer. In the word God speaks to us; in prayer we speak to him. God had revealed to Abraham his purposes concerning Sodom; now from this Abraham takes occasion to speak to God on Sodom's behalf. Note, God's word then does us good when it furnishes us with matter for prayer and excites us to it. When God has spoken to us, we must consider what we have to say to him upon it. Observe,
