31 And he said, H559 Swear H7650 unto me. And he sware H7650 unto him. And Israel H3478 bowed H7812 himself upon the bed's H4296 head. H7218
And moreover the king's H4428 servants H5650 came H935 to bless H1288 our lord H113 king H4428 David, H1732 saying, H559 God H430 make the name H8034 of Solomon H8010 better H3190 than thy name, H8034 and make H1431 his throne H3678 greater H1431 than thy throne. H3678 And the king H4428 bowed H7812 himself upon the bed. H4904
Now therefore swear H7650 unto me here H2008 by God H430 that thou wilt not deal falsely H8266 with me, nor with my son, H5209 nor with my son's son: H5220 but according to the kindness H2617 that I have done H6213 unto thee, thou shalt do H6213 unto me, and to the land H776 wherein thou hast sojourned. H1481
And the man H376 bowed down his head, H6915 and worshipped H7812 the LORD. H3068
And the time H3117 drew nigh H7126 that Israel H3478 must die: H4191 and he called H7121 his son H1121 Joseph, H3130 and said H559 unto him, If now I have found H4672 grace H2580 in thy sight, H5869 put, H7760 I pray thee, thy hand H3027 under my thigh, H3409 and deal H6213 kindly H2617 and truly H571 with me; bury H6912 me not, I pray thee, in Egypt: H4714
And it came to pass after H310 these things, H1697 that one told H559 Joseph, H3130 Behold, thy father H1 is sick: H2470 and he took H3947 with him his two H8147 sons, H1121 Manasseh H4519 and Ephraim. H669 And one told H5046 Jacob, H3290 and said, H559 Behold, thy son H1121 Joseph H3130 cometh H935 unto thee: and Israel H3478 strengthened H2388 himself, and sat H3427 upon the bed. H4296

In this chapter we have instances,

Care being taken of Jacob and his family, the preservation of which was especially designed by Providence in Joseph's advancement, an account is now given of the saving of the kingdom of Egypt too from ruin; for God is King of nations as well as King of saints, and provideth food for all flesh. Joseph now returns to the management of that great trust which Pharaoh had lodged in his hand. Parents and children must be content to be absent one from another, when it is necessary, on either side, for the service of God or their generation. In Joseph's transactions with the Egyptians observe,
