5 Who G3748 serve G3000 unto the example G5262 and G2532 shadow G4639 of heavenly things, G2032 as G2531 Moses G3475 was admonished of God G5537 when he was about G3195 to make G2005 the tabernacle: G4633 for, G1063 See, G3708 saith he, G5346 that thou make G4160 all things G3956 according to G2596 the pattern G5179 shewed G1166 to thee G4671 in G1722 the mount. G3735
And look H7200 that thou make H6213 them after their pattern, H8403 which was shewed H7200 thee in the mount. H2022
Which G3739 are G2076 a shadow G4639 of things to come; G3195 but G1161 the body G4983 is of Christ. G5547
For G1063 the law G3551 having G2192 a shadow G4639 of good things G18 to come, G3195 and not G3756 the very G846 image G1504 of the things, G4229 can G1410 never G3763 with those G846 sacrifices G2378 which G3739 they offered G4374 year by year G2596 G1763 continually G1519 G1336 make G5048 the comers thereunto G4334 perfect. G5048
And thou shalt rear up H6965 the tabernacle H4908 according to the fashion H4941 thereof which was shewed H7200 thee in the mount. H2022
Hollow H5014 with boards H3871 shalt thou make H6213 it: as it was shewed H7200 thee in the mount, H2022 so shall they make H6213 it.
And this work H4639 of the candlestick H4501 was of beaten H4749 gold, H2091 unto the shaft H3409 thereof, unto the flowers H6525 thereof, was beaten work: H4749 according unto the pattern H4758 which the LORD H3068 had shewed H7200 Moses, H4872 so he made H6213 the candlestick. H4501
And the pattern H8403 of all that he had by the spirit, H7307 of the courts H2691 of the house H1004 of the LORD, H3068 and of all the chambers H3957 round about, H5439 of the treasuries H214 of the house H1004 of God, H430 and of the treasuries H214 of the dedicated things: H6944
All this, said David, the LORD H3068 made me understand H7919 in writing H3791 by his hand H3027 upon me, even all the works H4399 of this pattern. H8403
Which G3748 was a figure G3850 for G1519 the time G2540 then present, G1764 in G2596 which G3739 were offered G4374 both G5037 gifts G1435 and G2532 sacrifices, G2378 that could G1410 not G3361 make G5048 him that did the service G3000 perfect, G5048 as pertaining to G2596 the conscience; G4893
It was therefore G3767 necessary G318 that the patterns G5262 of things G3303 in G1722 the heavens G3772 should be purified G2511 with these; G5125 but G1161 the heavenly things G2032 themselves G846 with better G2909 sacrifices G2378 than G3844 these. G5025 For G1063 Christ G5547 is G1525 not G3756 entered G1525 into G1519 the holy places G39 made with hands, G5499 which are the figures G499 of the true; G228 but G235 into G1519 heaven G3772 itself, G846 now G3568 to appear G1718 in the presence G4383 of God G2316 for G5228 us: G2257
By faith G4102 Noah, G3575 being warned of God G5537 of G4012 things not G3369 seen G991 as yet, G3369 moved with fear, G2125 prepared G2680 an ark G2787 to G1519 the saving G4991 of his G846 house; G3624 by G1223 the which G3739 he condemned G2632 the world, G2889 and G2532 became G1096 heir G2818 of the righteousness G1343 which is by G2596 faith. G4102
See G991 that ye refuse G3868 not G3361 him that speaketh. G2980 For G1063 if G1487 they G1565 escaped G5343 not G3756 who refused him G3868 that spake G5537 on G1909 earth, G1093 much G4183 more G3123 shall not we G2249 escape, if we turn away from him G654 that speaketh from G575 heaven: G3772

Commentary on Hebrews 8 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 8
In this chapter the apostle pursues his former subject, the priesthood of Christ. And,
Hbr 8:1-5
Here is,
Hbr 8:6-13
In this part of the chapter, the apostle illustrates and confirms the superior excellency of the priesthood of Christ above that of Aaron, from the excellency of that covenant, or that dispensation of the covenant of grace, of which Christ was the Mediator (v. 6): his ministry is more excellent, by how much he is the Mediator of a better covenant. The body and soul too of all divinity (as some observe) consist very much in rightly distinguishing between the two covenants-the covenant of works and the covenant of grace; and between the two dispensations of the covenant of grace-that under the Old Testament and that under the New.
