15 Though I have bound H3256 and strengthened H2388 their arms, H2220 yet do they imagine H2803 mischief H7451 against me.
What do ye imagine H2803 against the LORD? H3068 he will make H6213 an utter end: H3617 affliction H6869 shall not rise up H6965 the second time. H6471
(And the LORD H3068 gave H5414 Israel H3478 a saviour, H3467 so that they went out H3318 from under the hand H3027 of the Syrians: H758 and the children H1121 of Israel H3478 dwelt H3427 in their tents, H168 as beforetime. H8032 H8543
And the LORD H3068 was gracious H2603 unto them, and had compassion H7355 on them, and had respect H6437 unto them, because of H4616 his covenant H1285 with Abraham, H85 Isaac, H3327 and Jacob, H3290 and would H14 not destroy H7843 them, neither cast H7993 he them from his presence H6440 as yet. H5704
He restored H7725 the coast H1366 of Israel H3478 from the entering H935 of Hamath H2574 unto the sea H3220 of the plain, H6160 according to the word H1697 of the LORD H3068 God H430 of Israel, H3478 which he spake H1696 by the hand H3027 of his servant H5650 Jonah, H3124 the son H1121 of Amittai, H573 the prophet, H5030 which was of Gathhepher. H1662 For the LORD H3068 saw H7200 the affliction H6040 of Israel, H3478 that it was very H3966 bitter: H4784 for there was not H657 any shut up, H6113 nor any left, H5800 nor any helper H5826 for Israel. H3478 And the LORD H3068 said H1696 not that he would blot out H4229 the name H8034 of Israel H3478 from under heaven: H8064 but he saved H3467 them by the hand H3027 of Jeroboam H3379 the son H1121 of Joash. H3101
How long will ye imagine mischief H2050 against a man? H376 ye shall be slain H7523 all of you: as a bowing H5186 wall H7023 shall ye be, and as a tottering H1760 fence. H1447
Blessed H835 is the man H1397 whom thou chastenest, H3256 O LORD, H3050 and teachest H3925 him out of thy law; H8451
Many H7227 times H6471 did he deliver H5337 them; but they provoked H4784 him with their counsel, H6098 and were brought low H4355 for their iniquity. H5771 Nevertheless he regarded H7200 their affliction, H6862 when he heard H8085 their cry: H7440 And he remembered H2142 for them his covenant, H1285 and repented H5162 according to the multitude H7230 of his mercies. H2617
My son, H1121 despise H3988 not the chastening H4148 of the LORD; H3068 neither be weary H6973 of his correction: H8433
The heart H3820 is deceitful H6121 above all things, and desperately wicked: H605 who can know H3045 it?
Because G1360 that, when they knew G1097 God, G2316 they glorified G1392 him not G3756 as G5613 God, G2316 neither G2228 were thankful; G2168 but G235 became vain G3154 in G1722 their G846 imaginations, G1261 and G2532 their G846 foolish G801 heart G2588 was darkened. G4654
Casting down G2507 imaginations, G3053 and G2532 every G3956 high thing G5313 that exalteth itself G1869 against G2596 the knowledge G1108 of God, G2316 and G2532 bringing into captivity G163 every G3956 thought G3540 to G1519 the obedience G5218 of Christ; G5547
And G2532 ye have forgotten G1585 the exhortation G3874 which G3748 speaketh G1256 unto you G5213 as G5613 unto children, G5207 My G3450 son, G5207 despise G3643 not G3361 thou G3643 the chastening G3809 of the Lord, G2962 nor G3366 faint G1590 when thou art rebuked G1651 of G5259 him: G846

Commentary on Hosea 7 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 7
In this chapter we have,
Hsa 7:1-7
Some take away the last words of the foregoing chapter, and make them the beginning of this: "When I returned, or would have returned, the captivity of my people, when I was about to come towards them in ways of mercy, even when I would have healed Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim (the country and common people) was discovered, and the wickedness of Samaria, the court and the chief city.' Now, in these verses, we may observe,
Hsa 7:8-16
Having seen how vicious and corrupt the court was, we now come to enquire how it is with the country, and we find that to be no better; and no marvel if the distemper that has so seized the head affect the whole body, so that there is no soundness in it; the iniquity of Ephraim is discovered, as well as the sin of Samaria, of the people as well as the princes, of which here are divers instances.
