29 O earth, H776 earth, H776 earth, H776 hear H8085 the word H1697 of the LORD. H3068
Give ear, H238 O ye heavens, H8064 and I will speak; H1696 and hear, H8085 O earth, H776 the words H561 of my mouth. H6310
I call H5749 heaven H8064 and earth H776 to witness H5749 against you this day, H3117 that ye shall soon H4118 utterly H6 perish H6 from off the land H776 whereunto ye go over H5674 Jordan H3383 to possess H3423 it; ye shall not prolong H748 your days H3117 upon it, but shall utterly H8045 be destroyed. H8045
Now therefore write H3789 ye this song H7892 for you, and teach H3925 it the children H1121 of Israel: H3478 put H7760 it in their mouths, H6310 that this song H7892 may be a witness H5707 for me against the children H1121 of Israel. H3478
The vision H2377 of Isaiah H3470 the son H1121 of Amoz, H531 which he saw H2372 concerning Judah H3063 and Jerusalem H3389 in the days H3117 of Uzziah, H5818 Jotham, H3147 Ahaz, H271 and Hezekiah, H3169 kings H4428 of Judah. H3063 Hear, H8085 O heavens, H8064 and give ear, H238 O earth: H776 for the LORD H3068 hath spoken, H1696 I have nourished H1431 and brought up H7311 children, H1121 and they have rebelled H6586 against me.
Come near, H7126 ye nations, H1471 to hear; H8085 and hearken, H7181 ye people: H3816 let the earth H776 hear, H8085 and all that is therein; H4393 the world, H8398 and all things that come forth H6631 of it.
Hear H8085 ye now what the LORD H3068 saith; H559 Arise, H6965 contend H7378 thou before the mountains, H2022 and let the hills H1389 hear H8085 thy voice. H6963 Hear H8085 ye, O mountains, H2022 the LORD'S H3068 controversy, H7379 and ye strong H386 foundations H4146 of the earth: H776 for the LORD H3068 hath a controversy H7379 with his people, H5971 and he will plead H3198 with Israel. Jer 22:1-9
Here we have,
Jer 22:10-19
Kings, though they are gods to us, are men to God, and shall die like men; so it appears in these verses, where we have a sentence of death passed upon two kings who reigned successively in Jerusalem, two brothers, and both the ungracious sons of a very pious father.
Jer 22:20-30
This prophecy seems to have been calculated for the ungracious inglorious reign of Jeconiah, or Jehoiachin, the son of Jehoiakim, who succeeded him in the government, reigned but three months, and was then carried captive to Babylon, where he lived many years, ch. 52:31. We have, in these verses, a prophecy,
