14 All thy lovers H157 have forgotten H7911 thee; they seek H1875 thee not; for I have wounded H5221 thee with the wound H4347 of an enemy, H341 with the chastisement H4148 of a cruel one, H394 for the multitude H7230 of thine iniquity; H5771 because thy sins H2403 were increased. H6105
She weepeth H1058 sore H1058 in the night, H3915 and her tears H1832 are on her cheeks: H3895 among all her lovers H157 she hath none to comfort H5162 her: all her friends H7453 have dealt treacherously H898 with her, they are become her enemies. H341
Wherefore a lion H738 out of the forest H3293 shall slay H5221 them, and a wolf H2061 of the evenings H6160 shall spoil H7703 them, a leopard H5246 shall watch H8245 over their cities: H5892 every one that goeth out H3318 thence shall H2007 be torn in pieces: H2963 because their transgressions H6588 are many, H7231 and their backslidings H4878 are increased. H6105
Go up H5927 to Lebanon, H3844 and cry; H6817 and lift up H5414 thy voice H6963 in Bashan, H1316 and cry H6817 from the passages: H5676 for all thy lovers H157 are destroyed. H7665
The wind H7307 shall eat up H7462 all thy pastors, H7462 and thy lovers H157 shall go H3212 into captivity: H7628 surely then shalt thou be ashamed H954 and confounded H3637 for all thy wickedness. H7451
And when thou art spoiled, H7703 what wilt thou do? H6213 Though thou clothest H3847 thyself with crimson, H8144 though thou deckest H5710 thee with ornaments H5716 of gold, H2091 though thou rentest H7167 thy face H5869 with painting, H6320 in vain H7723 shalt thou make thyself fair; H3302 thy lovers H5689 will despise H3988 thee, they will seek H1245 thy life. H5315
He hath also kindled H2734 his wrath H639 against me, and he counteth H2803 me unto him as one of his enemies. H6862
Therefore, O Aholibah, H172 thus saith H559 the Lord H136 GOD; H3069 Behold, I will raise up H5782 thy lovers H157 against thee, from whom thy mind H5315 is alienated, H5361 and I will bring H935 them against thee on every side; H5439
And G2532 the ten G1176 horns G2768 which G3739 thou sawest G1492 are G1526 ten G1176 kings, G935 which G3748 have received G2983 no G3768 kingdom G932 as yet; G3768 but G235 receive G2983 power G1849 as G5613 kings G935 one G3391 hour G5610 with G3326 the beast. G2342 These G3778 have G2192 one G3391 mind, G1106 and G2532 shall give G1239 their G1438 power G1411 and G2532 strength G1849 unto the beast. G2342 These G3778 shall make war G4170 with G3326 the Lamb, G721 and G2532 the Lamb G721 shall overcome G3528 them: G846 for G3754 he is G2076 Lord G2962 of lords, G2962 and G2532 King G935 of kings: G935 and G2532 they that are with G3326 him G846 are called, G2822 and G2532 chosen, G1588 and G2532 faithful. G4103 And G2532 he saith G3004 unto me, G3427 The waters G5204 which G3739 thou sawest, G1492 where G3757 the whore G4204 sitteth, G2521 are G1526 peoples, G2992 and G2532 multitudes, G3793 and G2532 nations, G1484 and G2532 tongues. G1100 And G2532 the ten G1176 horns G2768 which G3739 thou sawest G1492 upon G1909 the beast, G2342 these G3778 shall hate G3404 the whore, G4204 and G2532 shall make G4160 her G846 desolate G2049 and G2532 naked, G1131 and G2532 shall eat G5315 her G846 flesh, G4561 and G2532 burn G2618 her G846 with G1722 fire. G4442 For G1063 God G2316 hath put G1325 in G1519 their G846 hearts G2588 to fulfil G4160 his G846 will, G1106 and G2532 to agree, G4160 G3391 G1106 and G2532 give G1325 their G846 kingdom G932 unto the beast, G2342 until G891 the words G4487 of God G2316 shall be fulfilled. G5055 And G2532 the woman G1135 which G3739 thou sawest G1492 is G2076 that great G3173 city, G4172 which G3588 reigneth G2192 G932 over G1909 the kings G935 of the earth. G1093
For I will be unto Ephraim H669 as a lion, H7826 and as a young lion H3715 to the house H1004 of Judah: H3063 I, even I, will tear H2963 and go away; H3212 I will take away, H5375 and none shall rescue H5337 him.
And now will I discover H1540 her lewdness H5040 in the sight H5869 of her lovers, H157 and none H376 shall deliver H5337 her out of mine hand. H3027 I will also cause all her mirth H4885 to cease, H7673 her feast days, H2282 her new moons, H2320 and her sabbaths, H7676 and all her solemn feasts. H4150 And I will destroy H8074 her vines H1612 and her fig trees, H8384 whereof she hath said, H559 These are my rewards H866 that my lovers H157 have given H5414 me: and I will make H7760 them a forest, H3293 and the beasts H2416 of the field H7704 shall eat H398 them. And I will visit H6485 upon her the days H3117 of Baalim, H1168 wherein she burned incense H6999 to them, and she decked H5710 herself with her earrings H5141 and her jewels, H2484 and she went H3212 after H310 her lovers, H157 and forgat H7911 me, saith H5002 the LORD. H3068 Therefore, behold, I will allure H6601 her, and bring H3212 her into the wilderness, H4057 and speak H1696 comfortably H3820 unto her. And I will give H5414 her her vineyards H3754 from thence, and the valley H6010 of Achor H5911 for a door H6607 of hope: H8615 and she shall sing H6030 there, as in the days H3117 of her youth, H5271 and as in the day H3117 when she came up H5927 out of the land H776 of Egypt. H4714 And it shall be at that day, H3117 saith H5002 the LORD, H3068 that thou shalt call H7121 me Ishi; H376 and shalt call H7121 me no more Baali. H1180
For their mother H517 hath played the harlot: H2181 she that conceived H2029 them hath done shamefully: H3001 for she said, H559 I will go H3212 after H310 my lovers, H157 that give H5414 me my bread H3899 and my water, H4325 my wool H6785 and my flax, H6593 mine oil H8081 and my drink. H8250
Wherefore hidest H5641 thou thy face, H6440 and holdest H2803 me for thine enemy? H341 Wilt thou break H6206 a leaf H5929 driven to and fro? H5086 and wilt thou pursue H7291 the dry H3002 stubble? H7179 For thou writest H3789 bitter things H4846 against me, and makest me to possess H3423 the iniquities H5771 of my youth. H5271 Thou puttest H7760 my feet H7272 also in the stocks, H5465 and lookest narrowly H8104 unto all my paths; H734 thou settest a print H2707 upon the heels H8328 of my feet. H7272 And he, as a rotten thing, H7538 consumeth, H1086 as a garment H899 that is moth H6211 eaten. H398
Wherefore I have delivered H5414 her into the hand H3027 of her lovers, H157 into the hand H3027 of the Assyrians, H1121 H804 upon whom she doted. H5689
And it came to pass, while they were slaying H5221 them, and I was left, H7604 that I fell H5307 upon my face, H6440 and cried, H2199 and said, H559 Ah H162 Lord H136 GOD! H3069 wilt thou destroy H7843 all the residue H7611 of Israel H3478 in thy pouring out H8210 of thy fury H2534 upon Jerusalem? H3389 Then said H559 he unto me, The iniquity H5771 of the house H1004 of Israel H3478 and Judah H3063 is exceeding H3966 H3966 great, H1419 and the land H776 is full H4390 of blood, H1818 and the city H5892 full H4390 of perverseness: H4297 for they say, H559 The LORD H3068 hath forsaken H5800 the earth, H776 and the LORD H3068 seeth H7200 not. And as for me also, mine eye H5869 shall not spare, H2347 neither will I have pity, H2550 but I will recompense H5414 their way H1870 upon their head. H7218
He hath bent H1869 his bow H7198 like an enemy: H341 he stood H5324 with his right hand H3225 as an adversary, H6862 and slew H2026 all that were pleasant H4261 to the eye H5869 in the tabernacle H168 of the daughter H1323 of Zion: H6726 he poured out H8210 his fury H2534 like fire. H784 The Lord H136 was as an enemy: H341 he hath swallowed up H1104 Israel, H3478 he hath swallowed up H1104 all her palaces: H759 he hath destroyed H7843 his strong holds, H4013 and hath increased H7235 in the daughter H1323 of Judah H3063 mourning H8386 and lamentation. H592
I called H7121 for my lovers, H157 but they deceived H7411 me: my priests H3548 and mine elders H2205 gave up the ghost H1478 in the city, H5892 while they sought H1245 their meat H400 to relieve H7725 their souls. H5315
And, behold, all the women H802 that are left H7604 in the king H4428 of Judah's H3063 house H1004 shall be brought forth H3318 to the king H4428 of Babylon's H894 princes, H8269 and those women shall say, H559 Thy friends H582 H7965 have set thee on, H5496 and have prevailed H3201 against thee: thy feet H7272 are sunk H2883 in the mire, H1206 and they are turned away H5472 back. H268
Why criest H2199 thou for thine affliction? H7667 thy sorrow H4341 is incurable H605 for the multitude H7230 of thine iniquity: H5771 because thy sins H2403 were increased, H6105 I have done H6213 these things unto thee.
They shall lay hold H2388 on bow H7198 and spear; H3591 they are cruel, H394 and have no mercy; H7355 their voice H6963 roareth H1993 like the sea; H3220 and they ride H7392 upon horses, H5483 set in array H6186 as men H376 for war H4421 against thee, O daughter H1323 of Zion. H6726

Commentary on Jeremiah 30 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 30
The sermon which we have in this and the following chapter is of a very different complexion from all those before. The prophet does indeed, by direction from God, change his voice. Most of what he had said hitherto was by way of reproof and threatening; but these two chapters are wholly taken up with precious promises of a return out of captivity, and that typical of the glorious things reserved for the church in the days of the Messiah. The prophet is told not only to preach this, but to write it, because it is intended for the comfort of the generation to come (v. 1-3). It is here promised,
Jer 30:1-9
Here,
Jer 30:10-17
In these verses, as in those foregoing, the deplorable case of the Jews in captivity is set forth, but many precious promises are given them that in due time they should be relieved and a glorious salvation wrought for them.
Jer 30:18-24
We have here further intimations of the favour God had in reserve for them after the days of their calamity were over. It is promised,
