10 For though ye had smitten H5221 the whole army H2428 of the Chaldeans H3778 that fight H3898 against you, and there remained H7604 but wounded H1856 men H582 among them, yet should they rise up H6965 every man H376 in his tent, H168 and burn H8313 this city H5892 with fire. H784
And upon them that are left H7604 alive of you I will send H935 a faintness H4816 into their hearts H3824 in the lands H776 of their enemies; H341 and the sound H6963 of a shaken H5086 leaf H5929 shall chase H7291 them; and they shall flee, H5127 as fleeing H4499 from a sword; H2719 and they shall fall H5307 when none pursueth. H7291 And they shall fall H3782 one H376 upon another, H251 as it were before H6440 a sword, H2719 when none pursueth: H7291 and ye shall have no power to stand H8617 before H6440 your enemies. H341 And ye shall perish H6 among the heathen, H1471 and the land H776 of your enemies H341 shall eat you up. H398
Every one that is found H4672 shall be thrust through; H1856 and every one that is joined H5595 unto them shall fall H5307 by the sword. H2719
But thou art cast out H7993 of thy grave H6913 like an abominable H8581 branch, H5342 and as the raiment H3830 of those that are slain, H2026 thrust through H2944 with a sword, H2719 that go down H3381 to the stones H68 of the pit; H953 as a carcase H6297 trodden under feet. H947
Thus saith H559 the LORD H3068 God H430 of Israel; H3478 Behold, I will turn back H5437 the weapons H3627 of war H4421 that are in your hands, H3027 wherewith ye fight H3898 against the king H4428 of Babylon, H894 and against the Chaldeans, H3778 which besiege H6696 you without H2351 the walls, H2346 and I will assemble H622 them into the midst H8432 of this city. H5892 And I myself will fight H3898 against you with an outstretched H5186 hand H3027 and with a strong H2389 arm, H2220 even in anger, H639 and in fury, H2534 and in great H1419 wrath. H7110 And I will smite H5221 the inhabitants H3427 of this city, H5892 both man H120 and beast: H929 they shall die H4191 of a great H1419 pestilence. H1698 And afterward, H310 saith H5002 the LORD, H3068 I will deliver H5414 Zedekiah H6667 king H4428 of Judah, H3063 and his servants, H5650 and the people, H5971 and such as are left H7604 in this city H5892 from the pestilence, H1698 from the sword, H2719 and from the famine, H7458 into the hand H3027 of Nebuchadrezzar H5019 king H4428 of Babylon, H894 and into the hand H3027 of their enemies, H341 and into the hand H3027 of those that seek H1245 their life: H5315 and he shall smite H5221 them with the edge H6310 of the sword; H2719 he shall not spare H2347 them, neither have pity, H2550 nor have mercy. H7355
And the Chaldeans H3778 shall come again, H7725 and fight H3898 against this city, H5892 and take H3920 it, and burn H8313 it with fire. H784
Therefore hear H8085 the counsel H6098 of the LORD, H3068 that he hath taken H3289 against Edom; H123 and his purposes, H4284 that he hath purposed H2803 against the inhabitants H3427 of Teman: H8487 Surely the least H6810 of the flock H6629 shall draw them out: H5498 surely he shall make their habitations H5116 desolate H8074 with them.
Therefore hear H8085 ye the counsel H6098 of the LORD, H3068 that he hath taken H3289 against Babylon; H894 and his purposes, H4284 that he hath purposed H2803 against the land H776 of the Chaldeans: H3778 Surely the least H6810 of the flock H6629 shall draw them out: H5498 surely he shall make their habitation H5116 desolate H8074 with them.
Thus the slain H2491 shall fall H5307 in the land H776 of the Chaldeans, H3778 and they that are thrust through H1856 in her streets. H2351
And the LORD H3068 shall utter H5414 his voice H6963 before H6440 his army: H2428 for his camp H4264 is very H3966 great: H7227 for he is strong H6099 that executeth H6213 his word: H1697 for the day H3117 of the LORD H3068 is great H1419 and very H3966 terrible; H3372 and who can abide H3557 it?

Commentary on Jeremiah 37 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 37
This chapter brings us very near the destruction of Jerusalem by the Chaldeans, for the story of it lies in the latter end of Zedekiah's reign; we have in it,
Jer 37:1-10
Here is,
Jer 37:11-21
We have here a further account concerning Jeremiah, who relates more passages concerning himself than any other of the prophets; for the histories of the lives and sufferings of God's ministers have been very serviceable to the church, as well as their preaching and writing.
