28 And G2532 when she had G2036 so G5023 said, G2036 she went her way, G565 and G2532 called G5455 Mary G3137 her G846 sister G79 secretly, G2977 saying, G2036 The Master G1320 is come, G3918 and G2532 calleth for G5455 thee. G4571
Then G1899 we G2249 which G3588 are alive G2198 and remain G4035 shall be caught up G726 together G260 with G4862 them G846 in G1722 the clouds, G3507 to G1519 meet G529 the Lord G2962 in G1519 the air: G109 and G2532 so G3779 shall we G2071 ever G3842 be G2071 with G4862 the Lord. G2962 Wherefore G5620 comfort G3870 one another G240 with G1722 these G5125 words. G3056
The voice H6963 of my beloved! H1730 behold, he cometh H935 leaping H1801 upon the mountains, H2022 skipping H7092 upon the hills. H1389 My beloved H1730 is like H1819 a roe H6643 or a young H6082 hart: H354 behold, he standeth H5975 behind H310 our wall, H3796 he looketh forth H7688 at the windows, H2474 shewing H6692 himself through the lattice. H2762 My beloved H1730 spake, H6030 and said H559 unto me, Rise up, H6965 my love, H7474 my fair one, H3303 and come away. H3212 For, lo, the winter H5638 is past, H5674 the rain H1653 is over H2498 and gone; H1980 The flowers H5339 appear H7200 on the earth; H776 the time H6256 of the singing H2158 of birds is come, H5060 and the voice H6963 of the turtle H8449 is heard H8085 in our land; H776 The fig tree H8384 putteth forth H2590 her green figs, H6291 and the vines H1612 with the tender grape H5563 give H5414 a good smell. H7381 Arise, H6965 my love, H7474 my fair one, H3303 and come away. H3212 O my dove, H3123 that art in the clefts H2288 of the rock, H5553 in the secret H5643 places of the stairs, H4095 let me see H7200 thy countenance, H4758 let me hear H8085 thy voice; H6963 for sweet H6156 is thy voice, H6963 and thy countenance H4758 is comely. H5000
Now G1161 it came to pass, G1096 as G1722 they G846 went, G4198 that G2532 he G846 entered G1525 into G1519 a certain G5100 village: G2968 and G1161 a certain G5100 woman G1135 named G3686 Martha G3136 received G5264 him G846 into G1519 her G846 house. G3624 And G2532 she G3592 had G2258 a sister G79 called G2564 Mary, G3137 which G3739 also G2532 sat G3869 at G3844 Jesus' G2424 feet, G4228 and heard G191 his G846 word. G3056 But G1161 Martha G3136 was cumbered G4049 about G4012 much G4183 serving, G1248 and G1161 came to him, G2186 and said, G2036 Lord, G2962 dost G3199 thou G4671 not G3756 care G3199 that G3754 my G3450 sister G79 hath left G2641 me G3165 to serve G1247 alone? G3441 bid G2036 her G846 therefore G3767 that G2443 she help G4878 me. G3427 And G1161 Jesus G2424 answered G611 and said G2036 unto her, G846 Martha, G3136 Martha, G3136 thou art careful G3309 and G2532 troubled G5182 about G4012 many things: G4183 But G1161 one thing G1520 is G2076 needful: G5532 and G1161 Mary G3137 hath chosen G1586 that good G18 part, G3310 which G3748 shall G851 not G3756 be taken away G851 from G575 her. Commentary on John 11 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 11
In this chapter we have the history of that illustrious miracle which Christ wrought a little before his death-the raising of Lazarus to life, which is recorded only by this evangelist; for the other three confine themselves to what Christ did in Galilee, where he resided most, and scarcely ever carried their history into Jerusalem till the passion-week: whereas John's memoirs relate chiefly to what passed at Jerusalem; this passage therefore was reserved for his pen. Some suggest that, when the other evangelists wrote, Lazarus was alive, and it would not well agree either with his safety or with his humility to have it recorded till now, when it is supposed he was dead. It is more largely recorded than any other of Christ's miracles, not only because there are many circumstances of it so very instructive and the miracle of itself so great a proof of Christ's mission, but because it was an earnest of that which was to be the crowning proof of all-Christ's own resurrection. Here is,
Jhn 11:1-16
We have in these verses,
Jhn 11:17-32
The matter being determined, that Christ will go to Judea, and his disciples with him, they address themselves to their journey; in this journey some circumstances happened which the other evangelists record, as the healing of the blind man at Jericho, and the conversion of Zaccheus. We must not reckon ourselves out of our way, while we are in the way of doing good; nor be so intent upon one good office as to neglect another.
At length, he comes near to Bethany, which is said to be about fifteen furlongs from Jerusalem, about two measured miles, v. 18. Notice is taken of this, that this miracle was in effect wrought in Jerusalem, and so was put to her score. Christ's miracles in Galilee were more numerous, but those in or near Jerusalem were more illustrious; there he healed one that had been diseased thirty-eight years, another that had been blind from his birth, and raised one that had been dead four days. To Bethany Christ came, and observe,

Here we have,
Jhn 11:45-57
We have here an account of the consequences of this glorious miracle, which were as usual; to some it was a savour of life unto life, to others of death unto death.
