21 Jesus G2424 saith G3004 unto her, G846 Woman, G1135 believe G4100 me, G3427 the hour G5610 cometh, G3754 G2064 when G3753 ye shall G4352 neither G3777 in G1722 this G5129 mountain, G3735 nor yet G3777 at G1722 Jerusalem, G2414 worship G4352 the Father. G3962
I will G1014 therefore G3767 that men G435 pray G4336 every G1722 G3956 where, G5117 lifting up G1869 holy G3741 hands, G5495 without G5565 wrath G3709 and G2532 doubting. G1261
For from the rising H4217 of the sun H8121 even unto the going down H3996 of the same my name H8034 shall be great H1419 among the Gentiles; H1471 and in every place H4725 incense H6999 shall be offered H5066 unto my name, H8034 and a pure H2889 offering: H4503 for my name H8034 shall be great H1419 among the heathen, H1471 saith H559 the LORD H3068 of hosts. H6635
For this G5127 cause G5484 I bow G2578 my G3450 knees G1119 unto G4314 the Father G3962 of our G2257 Lord G2962 Jesus G2424 Christ, G5547
Marvel G2296 not G3361 at this: G5124 for G3754 the hour G5610 is coming, G2064 in G1722 the which G3739 all G3956 that are in G1722 the graves G3419 shall hear G191 his G846 voice, G5456
Son H1121 of man, H120 these men H582 have set up H5927 their idols H1544 in their heart, H3820 and put H5414 the stumblingblock H4383 of their iniquity H5771 before H5227 their face: H6440 should I be enquired H1875 of at all H1875 by them?
Behold, G2400 the hour G5610 cometh, G2064 yea, G2532 is G2064 now G3568 come, G2064 that G2443 ye shall be scattered, G4650 every man G1538 to G1519 his own, G2398 and G2532 shall leave G863 me G1691 alone: G3441 and yet G2532 I am G1510 not G3756 alone, G3441 because G3754 the Father G3962 is G2076 with G3326 me. G1700
Verily, G281 verily, G281 I say G3004 unto you, G5213 G3754 The hour G5610 is coming, G2064 and G2532 now G3568 is, G2076 when G3753 the dead G3498 shall hear G191 the voice G5456 of the Son G5207 of God: G2316 and G2532 they that hear G191 shall live. G2198
And G2532 they shall fall G4098 by the edge G4750 of the sword, G3162 and G2532 shall be led away captive G163 into G1519 all G3956 nations: G1484 and G2532 Jerusalem G2419 shall be G2071 trodden down G3961 of G5259 the Gentiles, G1484 until G891 the times G2540 of the Gentiles G1484 be fulfilled. G4137
And G2532 as some G5100 spake G3004 of G4012 the temple, G2411 how G3754 it was adorned G2885 with goodly G2570 stones G3037 and G2532 gifts, G334 he said, G2036 As for these things G5023 which G3739 ye behold, G2334 the days G2250 will come, G2064 in G1722 the which G3739 there shall G863 not G3756 be left G863 one stone G3037 upon G1909 another, G3037 that G3739 shall G2647 not G3756 be thrown down. G2647
Go ye G4198 therefore, G3767 and teach G3100 all G3956 nations, G1484 baptizing G907 them G846 in G1519 the name G3686 of the Father, G3962 and G2532 of the Son, G5207 and G2532 of the Holy G40 Ghost: G4151
For G1063 where G3757 two G1417 or G2228 three G5140 are G1526 gathered together G4863 in G1519 my G1699 name, G3686 there G1563 am I G1510 in G1722 the midst G3319 of them. G846

Commentary on John 4 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 4
It was, more than any thing else, the glory of the land of Israel, that it was Emmanuel's land (Isa. 8:8), not only the place of his birth, but the scene of his preaching and miracles. This land in our Saviour's time was divided into three parts: Judea in the south, Galilee in the north, and Samaria lying between them. Now, in this chapter, we have Christ in each of these three parts of that land.
Jhn 4:1-3
We read of Christ's coming into Judea (ch. 3:22), after he had kept the feast at Jerusalem; and now he left Judea four months before harvest, as is said here (v. 35); so that it is computed that he staid in Judea about six months, to build upon the foundation John had laid there. We have no particular account of his sermons and miracles there, only in general, v. 1.
Jhn 4:4-26
We have here an account of the good Christ did in Samaria, when he passed through that country in his way to Galilee. The Samaritans, both in blood and religion, were mongrel Jews, the posterity of those colonies which the king of Assyria planted there after the captivity of the ten tribes, with whom the poor of the land that were left behind, and many other Jews afterwards, incorporated themselves. They worshipped the God of Israel only, to whom they erected a temple on mount Gerizim, in competition with that at Jerusalem. There was great enmity between them and the Jews; the Samaritans would not admit Christ, when they saw he was going to Jerusalem (Lu. 9:53); the Jews thought they could not give him a worse name than to say, He is a Samaritan. When the Jews were in prosperity, the Samaritans claimed kindred to them (Ezra 4:2), but, when the Jews were in distress, they were Medes and Persians; see Joseph. Antiq. 11.340-341; 12.257.
