12 When G1161 G5613 they were filled, G1705 he said G3004 unto his G846 disciples, G3101 Gather up G4863 the fragments G2801 that remain, G4052 that nothing G3363 G5100 be lost. G622
He hath filled G1705 the hungry G3983 with good things; G18 and G2532 the rich G4147 he hath sent G1821 empty G2756 away. G1821
Then he said H559 unto them, Go your way, H3212 eat H398 the fat, H4924 and drink H8354 the sweet, H4477 and send H7971 portions H4490 unto them for whom nothing is prepared: H3559 for this day H3117 is holy H6918 unto our Lord: H113 neither be ye sorry; H6087 for the joy H2304 of the LORD H3068 is your strength. H4581
And they took H3920 strong H1219 cities, H5892 and a fat H8082 land, H127 and possessed H3423 houses H1004 full H4392 of all goods, H2898 wells H953 digged, H2672 vineyards, H3754 and oliveyards, H2132 and fruit H3978 trees H6086 in abundance: H7230 so they did eat, H398 and were filled, H7646 and became fat, H8080 and delighted H5727 themselves in thy great H1419 goodness. H2898
He also that is slothful H7503 in his work H4399 is brother H251 to him that is a great H1167 waster. H7843
And G2532 they did G5315 all G3956 eat, G5315 and G2532 were filled: G5526 and G2532 they took up G142 of the fragments G2801 that remained G4052 twelve G1427 baskets G2894 full. G4134 And G1161 they that had eaten G2068 were G2258 about G5616 five thousand G4000 men, G435 beside G5565 women G1135 and G2532 children. G3813
And G2532 they did G5315 all G3956 eat, G5315 and G2532 were filled: G5526 and G2532 they took up G142 of the broken G2801 meat that was left G4052 seven G2033 baskets G4711 full. G4134 And G1161 they that did eat G2068 were G2258 four thousand G5070 men, G435 beside G5565 women G1135 and G2532 children. G3813
And G2532 they did G5315 all G3956 eat, G5315 and G2532 were filled. G5526 And G2532 they took up G142 twelve G1427 baskets G2894 full G4134 of the fragments, G2801 and G2532 of G575 the fishes. G2486 And G2532 they that did eat G5315 of the loaves G740 were G2258 about G5616 five thousand G4000 men. G435
And G2532 not G3756 many G4183 days G2250 after G3326 the younger G3501 son G5207 gathered G4863 all G537 together, G4863 and took his journey G589 into G1519 a far G3117 country, G5561 and G2532 there G1563 wasted G1287 his G846 substance G3776 with riotous G811 living. G2198

Commentary on John 6 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 6
In this chapter we have,
Jhn 6:1-14
We have here an account of Christ's feeding five thousand men with five loaves and two fishes, which miracle is in this respect remarkable, that it is the only passage of the actions of Christ's life that is recorded by all the four evangelists. John, who does not usually relate what had been recorded by those who wrote before him, yet relates this, because of the reference the following discourse has to it. Observe,
Jhn 6:15-21
Here is,
Jhn 6:22-27
In these verses we have,
Jhn 6:28-59
Whether this conference was with the Capernaites, in whose synagogue Christ now was, or with those who came from the other side of the sea, is not certain nor material; however, it is an instance of Christ's condescension that he gave them leave to ask him questions, and did not resent the interruption as an affront, no, not from his common hearers, though not his immediate followers. Those that would be apt to teach must be swift to hear, and study to answer. It is the wisdom of teachers, when they are asked even impertinent unprofitable questions, thence to take occasion to answer in that which is profitable, that the question may be rejected, but not the request. Now,
Jhn 6:60-71
We have here an account of the effects of Christ's discourse. Some were offended and others edified by it; some driven from him and others brought nearer to him.
