52 The Jews G2453 therefore G3767 strove G3164 among G4314 themselves, G240 saying, G3004 How G4459 can G1410 this man G3778 give G1325 us G2254 his flesh G4561 to eat? G5315
Therefore G3767 said G3004 some G5100 of G1537 the Pharisees, G5330 This G3778 man G444 is G2076 not G3756 of G3844 God, G2316 because G3754 he keepeth G5083 not G3756 the sabbath day. G4521 Others G243 said, G3004 How G4459 can G1410 a man G444 that is a sinner G268 do G4160 such G5108 miracles? G4592 And G2532 there was G2258 a division G4978 among G1722 them. G846
The Jews G2453 then G3767 murmured G1111 at G4012 him, G846 because G3754 he said, G2036 I G1473 am G1510 the bread G740 which G3588 came down G2597 from G1537 heaven. G3772
Many G4183 of G1537 the people G3793 therefore, G3767 when they heard G191 this saying, G3056 said, G3004 Of a truth G230 this G3778 is G2076 the Prophet. G4396 Others G243 said, G3004 This G3778 is G2076 the Christ. G5547 But G1161 some G243 said, G3004 G1063 Shall G3361 Christ G5547 come G2064 out of G1537 Galilee? G1056 Hath not G3780 the scripture G1124 said, G2036 That G3754 Christ G5547 cometh G2064 of G1537 the seed G4690 of David, G1138 and G2532 out of G575 the town G2968 of Bethlehem, G965 where G3699 David G1138 was? G2258 So G3767 there was G1096 a division G4978 among G1722 the people G3793 because G1223 of him. G846
And G1161 when they heard G191 of the resurrection G386 of the dead, G3498 some G3303 mocked: G5512 and G1161 others said, G2036 We will hear G191 thee G4675 again G3825 of G4012 this G5127 matter.
But G1161 the natural G5591 man G444 receiveth G1209 not G3756 the things G3588 of the Spirit G4151 of God: G2316 for G1063 they are G2076 foolishness G3472 unto him: G846 neither G2532 G3756 can G1410 he know G1097 them, because G3754 they are spiritually G4153 discerned. G350

Commentary on John 6 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 6
In this chapter we have,
Jhn 6:1-14
We have here an account of Christ's feeding five thousand men with five loaves and two fishes, which miracle is in this respect remarkable, that it is the only passage of the actions of Christ's life that is recorded by all the four evangelists. John, who does not usually relate what had been recorded by those who wrote before him, yet relates this, because of the reference the following discourse has to it. Observe,
Jhn 6:15-21
Here is,
Jhn 6:22-27
In these verses we have,
Jhn 6:28-59
Whether this conference was with the Capernaites, in whose synagogue Christ now was, or with those who came from the other side of the sea, is not certain nor material; however, it is an instance of Christ's condescension that he gave them leave to ask him questions, and did not resent the interruption as an affront, no, not from his common hearers, though not his immediate followers. Those that would be apt to teach must be swift to hear, and study to answer. It is the wisdom of teachers, when they are asked even impertinent unprofitable questions, thence to take occasion to answer in that which is profitable, that the question may be rejected, but not the request. Now,
Jhn 6:60-71
We have here an account of the effects of Christ's discourse. Some were offended and others edified by it; some driven from him and others brought nearer to him.
