8 And they said H559 unto Joshua, H3091 We are thy servants. H5650 And Joshua H3091 said H559 unto them, Who are ye? and from whence H370 come H935 ye?
And it shall be, if it make thee answer H6030 of peace, H7965 and open H6605 unto thee, then it shall be, that all the people H5971 that is found H4672 therein shall be tributaries H4522 unto thee, and they shall serve H5647 thee.
And he that was over the house, H1004 and he that was over the city, H5892 the elders H2205 also, and the bringers up H539 of the children, sent H7971 to Jehu, H3058 saying, H559 We are thy servants, H5650 and will do H6213 all that thou shalt bid H559 us; we will not make any H376 king: H4427 do H6213 thou that which is good H2896 in thine eyes. H5869
Wherefore our elders H2205 and all the inhabitants H3427 of our country H776 spake H559 to us, saying, H559 Take H3947 victuals H6720 with you H3027 for the journey, H1870 and go H3212 to meet H7125 them, and say H559 unto them, We are your servants: H5650 therefore now make H3772 ye a league H1285 with us.
And he said, H559 Cursed H779 be Canaan; H3667 a servant H5650 of servants H5650 shall he be unto his brethren. H251 And he said, H559 Blessed H1288 be the LORD H3068 God H430 of Shem; H8035 and Canaan H3667 shall be H1961 his servant. H5650
And Joshua H3091 made H5414 them that day H3117 hewers H2404 of wood H6086 and drawers H7579 of water H4325 for the congregation, H5712 and for the altar H4196 of the LORD, H3068 even unto this day, H3117 in the place H4725 which he should choose. H977
And all the people H5971 that were left H3498 of the Amorites, H567 Hittites, H2850 Perizzites, H6522 Hivites, H2340 and Jebusites, H2983 which were not of the children H1121 of Israel, H3478 Their children H1121 that were left H3498 after H310 them in the land, H776 whom the children H1121 of Israel H3478 also were not able H3201 utterly to destroy, H2763 upon those did Solomon H8010 levy H5927 a tribute H4522 of bondservice H5647 unto this day. Here,
Jos 9:15-21
Here is,
Jos 9:22-27
The matter is here settled between Joshua and the Gibeonites, and an explanation of the league agreed upon.
