12 And the priest H3548 shall take H3947 one H259 he lamb, H3532 and offer H7126 him for a trespass offering, H817 and the log H3849 of oil, H8081 and wave H5130 them for a wave offering H8573 before H6440 the LORD: H3068
And he shall bring H935 his trespass offering H817 unto the LORD, H3068 a ram H352 without blemish H8549 out of the flock, H6629 with thy estimation, H6187 for a trespass offering, H817 unto the priest: H3548 And the priest H3548 shall make an atonement H3722 for him before H6440 the LORD: H3068 and it shall be forgiven H5545 him for any thing H259 of all that he hath done H6213 in trespassing H819 therein.
Or if a soul H5315 touch H5060 any unclean H2931 thing, H1697 whether it be a carcase H5038 of an unclean H2931 beast, H2416 or a carcase H5038 of unclean H2931 cattle, H929 or the carcase H5038 of unclean H2931 creeping things, H8318 and if it be hidden H5956 from him; he also shall be unclean, H2931 and guilty. H816 Or if he touch H5060 the uncleanness H2932 of man, H120 whatsoever uncleanness H2932 it be that a man shall be defiled H2930 withal, and it be hid H5956 from him; when he knoweth H3045 of it, then he shall be guilty. H816
And he shall bring H935 his trespass offering H817 unto the LORD H3068 for his sin H2403 which he hath sinned, H2398 a female H5347 from the flock, H6629 a lamb H3776 or a kid H8166 of the goats, H5795 for a sin offering; H2403 and the priest H3548 shall make an atonement H3722 for him concerning his sin. H2403 And if he H3027 be not able H1767 to bring H5060 a lamb, H7716 then he shall bring H935 for H854 his trespass, H817 which he hath committed, H2398 two H8147 turtledoves, H8449 or two H8147 young H1121 pigeons, H3123 unto the LORD; H3068 one H259 for a sin offering, H2403 and the other H259 for a burnt offering. H5930
And he shall bring H935 a ram H352 without blemish H8549 out of the flock, H6629 with thy estimation, H6187 for a trespass offering, H817 unto the priest: H3548 and the priest H3548 shall make an atonement H3722 for him concerning his ignorance H7684 wherein he erred H7683 and wist H3045 it not, and it shall be forgiven H5545 him. It is a trespass offering: H817 he hath certainly H816 trespassed H816 against the LORD. H3068
And he put H5414 all upon Aaron's H175 hands, H3709 and upon his sons' H1121 hands, H3709 and waved H5130 them for a wave offering H8573 before H6440 the LORD. H3068 And Moses H4872 took H3947 them from off their hands, H3709 and burnt H6999 them on the altar H4196 upon the burnt offering: H5930 they were consecrations H4394 for a sweet H5207 savour: H7381 it is an offering made by fire H801 unto the LORD. H3068 And Moses H4872 took H3947 the breast, H2373 and waved H5130 it for a wave offering H8573 before H6440 the LORD: H3068 for of the ram H352 of consecration H4394 it was Moses' H4872 part; H4490 as the LORD H3068 commanded H6680 Moses. Commentary on Leviticus 14 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 14
The former chapter directed the priests how to convict a leper of ceremonial uncleanness. No prescriptions are given for his cure; but, when God had cured him, the priests are in this chapter directed how to cleanse him. The remedy here is only adapted to the ceremonial part of his disease; but the authority Christ gave to his ministers was to cure the lepers, and so to cleanse them. We have here,
Lev 14:1-9
Here,
Lev 14:10-20
Observe,
Lev 14:21-32
We have here the gracious provision which the law made for the cleansing of poor lepers. If they were not able to bring three lambs, and three tenth-deals of flour, they must bring one lamb, and one tenth-deal of flour, and, instead of the other two lambs, two turtle-doves or two young pigeons, v. 21, 22. Here see,
Lev 14:33-53
This is the law concerning the leprosy in a house. Now that they were in the wilderness they dwelt in tents, and had no houses, and therefore the law is made only an appendix to the former laws concerning the leprosy, because it related, not to their present state, but to their future settlement. The leprosy in a house is as unaccountable as the leprosy in a garment; but, if we see not what natural causes of it can be assigned, we may resolve it into the power of the God of nature, who here says, I put the leprosy in a house (v. 34), as his curse is said to enter into a house, and consume it with the timber and stones thereof, Zec. 5:4. Now,
Lev 14:54-57
This is the conclusion of this law concerning the leprosy. There is no repetition of it in Deuteronomy, only a general memorandum given (Deu. 24:8), Take heed in the plague of leprosy. We may see in this law,
