14 And G2532 thou shalt be G2071 blessed; G3107 for G3754 they cannot G3756 G2192 recompense G467 thee: G4671 for G1063 thou G4671 shalt be recompensed G467 at G1722 the resurrection G386 of the just. G1342
And have G2192 hope G1680 toward G1519 God, G2316 which G3739 they G3778 themselves G846 also G2532 allow, G4327 that there shall be G3195 G1510 a resurrection G386 of the dead, G3498 both G5037 of the just G1342 and G2532 unjust. G94
Then G5119 shall the King G935 say G2046 unto them on G1537 his G846 right hand, G1188 Come, G1205 ye blessed G2127 of my G3450 Father, G3962 inherit G2816 the kingdom G932 prepared G2090 for you G5213 from G575 the foundation G2602 of the world: G2889 For G1063 I was an hungred, G3983 and G2532 ye gave G1325 me G3427 meat: G5315 I was thirsty, G1372 and G2532 ye gave G4222 me G3165 drink: G4222 I was G2252 a stranger, G3581 and G2532 ye took G4863 me G3165 in: G4863 Naked, G1131 and G2532 ye clothed G4016 me: G3165 I was sick, G770 and G2532 ye visited G1980 me: G3165 I was G2252 in G1722 prison, G5438 and G2532 ye came G2064 unto G4314 me. G3165 Then G5119 shall the righteous G1342 answer G611 him, G846 saying, G3004 Lord, G2962 when G4219 saw we G1492 thee G4571 an hungred, G3983 and G2532 fed G5142 thee? or G2228 thirsty, G1372 and G2532 gave thee drink? G4222 G1161 When G4219 saw we G1492 thee G4571 a stranger, G3581 and G2532 took thee in? G4863 or G2228 naked, G1131 and G2532 clothed G4016 thee? G1161 Or when G4219 saw we G1492 thee G4571 sick, G772 or G2228 in G1722 prison, G5438 and G2532 came G2064 unto G4314 thee? G4571 And G2532 the King G935 shall answer G611 and say G2046 unto them, G846 Verily G281 I say G3004 unto you, G5213 Inasmuch G1909 as G3745 ye have done G4160 it unto one G1520 of the least G1646 of these G5130 my G3450 brethren, G80 ye have done G4160 it unto me. G1698
And G2532 shall come forth; G1607 they that have done G4160 good, G18 unto G1519 the resurrection G386 of life; G2222 and G1161 they that have done G4238 evil, G5337 unto G1519 the resurrection G386 of damnation. G2920
And many H7227 of them that sleep H3463 in the dust H6083 of the earth H127 shall awake, H6974 some to everlasting H5769 life, H2416 and some to shame H2781 and everlasting H5769 contempt. H1860 And they that be wise H7919 shall shine H2094 as the brightness H2096 of the firmament; H7549 and they that turn many H7227 to righteousness H6663 as the stars H3556 for ever H5769 and ever. H5703
He that receiveth G1209 a prophet G4396 in G1519 the name G3686 of a prophet G4396 shall receive G2983 a prophet's G4396 reward; G3408 and G2532 he that receiveth G2983 a righteous man G1342 in G1519 the name G3686 of a righteous man G1342 shall receive G1209 a righteous man's G1342 reward. G3408 And G2532 whosoever G3739 G1437 shall give to drink G4222 unto one G1520 of these G5130 little ones G3398 a cup G4221 of cold G5593 water only G3440 in G1519 the name G3686 of a disciple, G3101 verily G281 I say G3004 unto you, G5213 he shall in no wise G3364 lose G622 his G846 reward. G3408
But G1161 they which shall be accounted worthy G2661 to obtain G5177 that G1565 world, G165 and G2532 the resurrection G386 from G1537 the dead, G3498 neither G3777 marry, G1060 nor G3777 are given in marriage: G1548 Neither G3777 G1063 can G1410 they die G599 any more: G2089 for G1063 they are G1526 equal unto the angels; G2465 and G2532 are G1526 the children G5207 of God, G2316 being G5607 the children G5207 of the resurrection. G386
But G1161 I have G568 all, G3956 and G2532 abound: G4052 I am full, G4137 having received G1209 of G3844 Epaphroditus G1891 the things which were sent from G3844 you, G5216 an odour G3744 of a sweet smell, G2175 a sacrifice G2378 acceptable, G1184 wellpleasing G2101 to God. G2316 But G1161 my G3450 God G2316 shall supply G4137 all G3956 your G5216 need G5532 according to G2596 his G846 riches G4149 in G1722 glory G1391 by G1722 Christ G5547 Jesus. G2424
And G2532 I saw G1492 thrones, G2362 and G2532 they sat G2523 upon G1909 them, G846 and G2532 judgment G2917 was given G1325 unto them: G846 and G2532 I saw the souls G5590 of them that were beheaded G3990 for G1223 the witness G3141 of Jesus, G2424 and G2532 for G1223 the word G3056 of God, G2316 and G2532 which G3748 had G4352 not G3756 worshipped G4352 the beast, G2342 neither G3777 his G846 image, G1504 G2532 neither G3756 had received G2983 his mark G5480 upon G1909 their G846 foreheads, G3359 or G2532 in G1909 their G846 hands; G5495 and G2532 they lived G2198 and G2532 reigned G936 with G3326 Christ G5547 a thousand G5507 years. G2094 But G1161 the rest G3062 of the dead G3498 lived G326 not G3756 again G326 until G2193 the thousand G5507 years G2094 were finished. G5055 This G3778 is the first G4413 resurrection. G386

Commentary on Luke 14 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 14
In this chapter we have,
Luk 14:1-6
In this passage of story we find,
Luk 14:7-14
Our Lord Jesus here sets us an example of profitable edifying discourse at our tables, when we are in company with our friends. We find that when he had none but his disciples, who were his own family, with him at his table, his discourse with them was good, and to the use of edifying; and not only so, but when he was in company with strangers, nay, with enemies that watched him, he took occasion to reprove what he saw amiss in them, and to instruct them. Though the wicked were before him, he did not keep silence from good (as David did, Ps. 39:1, 2), for, notwithstanding the provocation given him, he had not his heart hot within him, nor was his spirit stirred. We must not only not allow any corrupt communication at our tables, such as that of the hypocritical mockers at feasts, but we must go beyond common harmless talk, and should take occasion from God's goodness to us at our tables to speak well of him, and learn to spiritualize common things. The lips of the righteous should then feed many. Our Lord Jesus was among persons of quality, yet, as one that had not respect of persons,
Luk 14:15-24
Here is another discourse of our Saviour's, in which he spiritualizes the feast he was invited to, which is another way of keeping up good discourse in the midst of common actions.
Luk 14:25-35
See how Christ in his doctrine suited himself to those to whom he spoke, and gave every one his portion of meat. To Pharisees he preached humility and charity. He is in these verses directing his discourse to the multitudes that crowded after him, and seemed zealous in following him; and his exhortation to them is to understand the terms of discipleship, before they undertook the profession of it, and to consider what they did. This parable is another way applicable, and may be taken as designed to teach us to begin speedily to be religious, rather than to begin cautiously; and may mean the same with Mt. 5:25, Agree with thine adversary quickly. Note,
