36 Watch ye G69 therefore, G3767 and pray G1189 always, G1722 G3956 G2540 that G2443 ye may be accounted worthy G2661 to escape G1628 all G3956 these things G5023 that shall G3195 come to pass, G1096 and G2532 to stand G2476 before G1715 the Son G5207 of man. G444
Be sober, G3525 be vigilant; G1127 because G3754 your G5216 adversary G476 the devil, G1228 as G5613 a roaring G5612 lion, G3023 walketh about, G4043 seeking G2212 whom G5101 he may devour: G2666
And G1161 he spake G3004 G2532 a parable G3850 unto them G846 G4314 to this end, that men ought G1163 always G3842 to pray, G4336 and G2532 not G3361 to faint; G1573
Now G1161 unto him that is able G1410 to keep G5442 you G5209 G846 from falling, G679 and G2532 to present G2476 you faultless G299 before the presence G2714 of his G846 glory G1391 with G1722 exceeding joy, G20
Wherefore G1223 G5124 take unto you G353 the whole armour G3833 of God, G2316 that G2443 ye may be able G1410 to withstand G436 in G1722 the evil G4190 day, G2250 and G2532 having done G2716 all, G537 to stand. G2476 Stand G2476 therefore, G3767 having G4024 your G5216 loins G3751 girt about G4024 with G1722 truth, G225 and G2532 having on G1746 the breastplate G2382 of righteousness; G1343
Watch G1127 and G2532 pray, G4336 that G3363 ye enter G1525 not G3363 into G1519 temptation: G3986 the spirit G4151 indeed G3303 is willing, G4289 but G1161 the flesh G4561 is weak. G772
But G1161 watch G3525 thou G4771 in G1722 all things, G3956 endure afflictions, G2553 do G4160 the work G2041 of an evangelist, G2099 make full proof G4135 of thy G4675 ministry. G1248
Continue G4342 in prayer, G4335 and watch G1127 in G1722 the same G846 with G1722 thanksgiving; G2169
Praying G4336 always G1722 G2540 G3956 with G1223 all G3956 prayer G4335 and G2532 supplication G1162 in G1722 the Spirit, G4151 and G2532 watching G69 thereunto G1519 G5124 G846 with G1722 all G3956 perseverance G4343 and G2532 supplication G1162 for G4012 all G3956 saints; G40 And G2532 for G5228 me, G1700 that G2443 utterance G3056 may be given G1325 unto me, G3427 that I may open G1722 G457 my G3450 mouth G4750 boldly, G1722 G3954 to make known G1107 the mystery G3466 of the gospel, G2098
Blessed G3107 are those G1565 servants, G1401 whom G3739 the lord G2962 when he cometh G2064 shall find G2147 watching: G1127 verily G281 I say G3004 unto you, G5213 that G3754 he shall gird himself, G4024 and G2532 make G347 them G846 to sit down to meat, G347 and G2532 will come forth G3928 and serve G1247 them. G846 And G2532 if G1437 he shall come G2064 in G1722 the second G1208 watch, G5438 or G2532 come G2064 in G1722 the third G5154 watch, G5438 and G2532 find G2147 them so, G3779 blessed G3107 are G1526 those G1565 servants. G1401 And G1161 this G5124 know, G1097 that G3754 if G1487 the goodman of the house G3617 had known G1492 what G4169 hour G5610 the thief G2812 would come, G2064 G302 he would have watched, G1127 and G2532 G302 not G3756 have suffered G863 his G846 house G3624 to be broken through. G1358 Be G1096 ye G5210 therefore G3767 ready G2092 also: G2532 for G3754 G3739 the Son G5207 of man G444 cometh G2064 at an hour G5610 when ye think G1380 not. G3756
But G1161 they which shall be accounted worthy G2661 to obtain G5177 that G1565 world, G165 and G2532 the resurrection G386 from G1537 the dead, G3498 neither G3777 marry, G1060 nor G3777 are given in marriage: G1548
Which is a manifest token G1730 of the righteous G1342 judgment G2920 of God, G2316 that G1519 ye G5209 may be counted worthy G2661 of the kingdom G932 of God, G2316 for G5228 which G3739 ye G3958 also G2532 suffer: G3958 Seeing G1512 it is a righteous thing G1342 with G3844 God G2316 to recompense G467 tribulation G2347 to them that trouble G2346 you; G5209

Commentary on Luke 21 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 21
In this chapter we have,
Luk 21:1-4
This short passage of story we had before in Mark. It is thus recorded twice, to teach us,
Luk 21:5-19
See here,
Luk 21:20-28
Having given them an idea of the times for about thirty-eight years next ensuing, he here comes to show them what all those things would issue in at last, namely, the destruction of Jerusalem, and the utter dispersion of the Jewish nation, which would be a little day of judgment, a type and figure of Christ's second coming, which was not so fully spoken of here as in the parallel place (Mt. 24), yet glanced at; for the destruction of Jerusalem would be as it were the destruction of the world to those whose hearts were bound up in it.
Luk 21:29-38
Here, in the close of this discourse,
