26 And G2532 they were G2983 all G537 amazed, G1611 and G2532 they glorified G1392 God, G2316 and G2532 were filled G4130 with fear, G5401 saying, G3004 G3754 We have seen G1492 strange things G3861 to day. G4594
But G1161 when the multitudes G3793 saw G1492 it, they marvelled, G2296 and G2532 glorified G1392 God, G2316 which G3588 had given G1325 such G5108 power G1849 unto men. G444
And G1161 there came G2983 a fear G5401 on all: G537 and G2532 they glorified G1392 God, G2316 saying, G3004 That G3754 a great G3173 prophet G4396 is risen up G1453 among G1722 us; G2254 and, G2532 That G3754 God G2316 hath visited G1980 his G846 people. G2992
And it shall be to me a name H8034 of joy, H8342 a praise H8416 and an honour H8597 before all the nations H1471 of the earth, H776 which shall hear H8085 all the good H2896 that I do H6213 unto them: and they shall fear H6342 and tremble H7264 for all the goodness H2896 and for all the prosperity H7965 that I procure H6213 unto it.
Afterward H310 shall the children H1121 of Israel H3478 return, H7725 and seek H1245 the LORD H3068 their God, H430 and David H1732 their king; H4428 and shall fear H6342 the LORD H3068 and his goodness H2898 in the latter H319 days. H3117
And G2532 immediately G2112 he arose, G1453 took up G142 the bed, G2895 and G2532 went forth G1831 before G1726 them all; G3956 insomuch that G5620 they were G1839 all G3956 amazed, G1839 and G2532 glorified G1392 God, G2316 saying, G3004 G3754 We G1492 never G3763 saw G1492 it on this fashion. G3779
When G1161 Simon G4613 Peter G4074 saw G1492 it, he fell down at G4363 Jesus' G2424 knees, G1119 saying, G3004 Depart G1831 from G575 me; G1700 for G3754 I am G1510 a sinful G268 man, G435 O Lord. G2962
Then G2532 the whole G537 multitude G4128 of the country G4066 of the Gadarenes G1046 round about G4066 besought G2065 him G846 to depart G565 from G575 them; G846 for G3754 they were taken G4912 with great G3173 fear: G5401 and G1161 he G846 went up G1684 into G1519 the ship, G4143 and returned back again. G5290
So G1161 when they had further threatened them, G4324 they let G630 them G846 go, G630 finding G2147 nothing G3367 how G4459 they might punish G2849 them, G846 because G1223 of the people: G2992 for G3754 all G3956 men glorified G1392 God G2316 for G1909 that which was done. G1096
And G2532 great G3173 fear G5401 came G1096 upon G1909 all G3650 the church, G1577 and G2532 upon G1909 as many as G3956 heard G191 these things. G5023 And G1161 by G1223 the hands G5495 of the apostles G652 were G1096 many G4183 signs G4592 and G2532 wonders G5059 wrought G1096 G1096 among G1722 the people; G2992 (and G2532 they were G2258 all G537 with one accord G3661 in G1722 Solomon's G4672 porch. G4745 And G1161 of the rest G3062 durst G5111 no man G3762 join himself G2853 to them: G846 but G235 the people G2992 magnified G3170 them. G846

Commentary on Luke 5 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 5
In this chapter, we have,
Luk 5:1-11
This passage of story fell, in order of time, before the two miracles we had in the close of the foregoing chapter, and is the same with that which was more briefly related by Matthew and Mark, of Christ's calling Peter and Andrew to be fishers of men, Mt. 4:18, and Mk. 1:16. They had not related this miraculous draught of fishes at that time, having only in view the calling of his disciples; but Luke gives us that story as one of the many signs which Jesus did in the presence of his disciples, which had not been written in the foregoing books, Jn. 20:30, 31. Observe here,
Now by this vast draught of fishes,
Luk 5:12-16
Here is,
Luk 5:17-26
Here is,
Luk 5:27-39
All this, except the last verse, we had before in Matthew and Mark; it is not the story of any miracle in nature wrought by our Lord Jesus, but it is an account of some of the wonders of his grace, which, to those who understand things aright, are no less cogent proofs of Christ's being sent of God than the other.
