43 And G1161 they were G1605 all G3956 amazed G1605 at G1909 the mighty power G3168 of God. G2316 But G1161 while they wondered G2296 every one G3956 at G1909 all things G3956 which G3739 Jesus G2424 did, G4160 he said G2036 unto G4314 his G846 disciples, G3101
I will praise H3034 thee; for I am fearfully H3372 and wonderfully made: H6395 marvellous H6381 are thy works; H4639 and that my soul H5315 knoweth H3045 right well. H3966
And G2532 he went up G305 unto G4314 them G846 into G1519 the ship; G4143 and G2532 the wind G417 ceased: G2869 and G2532 they were sore G3029 amazed G1839 in G1722 themselves G1438 beyond G1537 measure, G4053 and G2532 wondered. G2296
And G2532 they departed G1831 thence, G1564 and passed G3899 through G1223 Galilee; G1056 and G2532 he would G2309 not G3756 that G2443 any man G5100 should know G1097 it. For G1063 he taught G1321 his G846 disciples, G3101 and G2532 said G3004 unto them, G846 G3754 The Son G5207 of man G444 is delivered G3860 into G1519 the hands G5495 of men, G444 and G2532 they shall kill G615 him; G846 and G2532 after that he is killed, G615 he shall rise G450 the third G5154 day. G2250 But G1161 they understood not G50 that saying, G4487 and G2532 were afraid G5399 to ask G1905 him. G846
And G2532 they were G1096 all G1909 G3956 amazed, G2285 and G2532 spake G4814 among G4314 themselves, G240 saying, G3004 What G5101 a word G3056 is this! G3778 for G3754 with G1722 authority G1849 and G2532 power G1411 he commandeth G2004 the unclean G169 spirits, G4151 and G2532 they come out. G1831
For G1063 he G846 was astonished, G4023 G2285 and G2532 all G3956 that were G4862 with him, G846 at G1909 the draught G61 of the fishes G2486 which G3739 they had taken: G4815
And G2532 they were G2983 all G537 amazed, G1611 and G2532 they glorified G1392 God, G2316 and G2532 were filled G4130 with fear, G5401 saying, G3004 G3754 We have seen G1492 strange things G3861 to day. G4594
And G1161 he said G2036 unto them, G846 Where G4226 is G2076 your G5216 faith? G4102 And G1161 they being afraid G5399 wondered, G2296 saying G3004 one to another, G4314 G240 What manner of man G5101 G686 is G2076 this! G3778 for G3754 he commandeth G2004 even G2532 the winds G417 and G2532 water, G5204 and G2532 they obey G5219 him. G846
And G1161 they were G1605 all G3956 amazed G1605 at G1909 the mighty power G3168 of God. G2316 But G1161 while they wondered G2296 every one G3956 at G1909 all things G3956 which G3739 Jesus G2424 did, G4160 he said G2036 unto G4314 his G846 disciples, G3101 Let these G5128 sayings G3056 sink down G5087 into G1519 your G5210 G5216 ears: G3775 for G1063 the Son G5207 of man G444 shall be G3195 delivered G3860 into G1519 the hands G5495 of men. G444 But G1161 they understood not G50 this G5124 saying, G4487 and G2532 it was G2258 hid G3871 from G575 them, G846 that G3363 they perceived G143 it G846 not: G3363 and G2532 they feared G5399 to ask G2065 him G846 of G4012 that G5127 saying. G4487
And G5037 they knew G1921 that G3754 it G846 was G2258 he G3778 which G3588 sat G2521 for G4314 alms G1654 at G1909 the Beautiful G5611 gate G4439 of the temple: G2411 and G2532 they were filled G4130 with wonder G2285 and G2532 amazement G1611 at G1909 that which had happened G4819 unto him. G846 And G1161 as the lame man G5560 which was healed G2390 held G2902 Peter G4074 and G2532 John, G2491 all G3956 the people G2992 ran together G4936 unto G4314 them G846 in G1909 the porch G4745 that is called G2564 Solomon's, G4672 greatly wondering. G1569 And G1161 when Peter G4074 saw G1492 it, he answered G611 unto G4314 the people, G2992 Ye men G435 of Israel, G2475 why G5101 marvel ye G2296 at G1909 this? G5129 or G2228 why G5101 look ye so earnestly G816 on us, G2254 as though G5613 by our own G2398 power G1411 or G2228 holiness G2150 we had made G4160 this man G846 to walk? G4043 The God G2316 of Abraham, G11 and G2532 of Isaac, G2464 and G2532 of Jacob, G2384 the God G2316 of our G2257 fathers, G3962 hath glorified G1392 his G846 Son G3816 Jesus; G2424 whom G3739 ye G5210 delivered up, G3860 and G2532 denied G720 him G846 in G2596 the presence G4383 of Pilate, G4091 when he was determined G2919 to let G630 him G1565 go. G630
For G1063 we have G1811 not G3756 followed G1811 cunningly devised G4679 fables, G3454 when we made known G1107 unto you G5213 the power G1411 and G2532 coming G3952 of our G2257 Lord G2962 Jesus G2424 Christ, G5547 but G235 were G1096 eyewitnesses G2030 of his G1565 majesty. G3168

Commentary on Luke 9 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 9
In this chapter we have,
Luk 9:1-9
We have here,
Luk 9:10-17
We have here,
Luk 9:18-27
In these verses, we have Christ discoursing with his disciples about the great things that pertained to the kingdom of God; and one circumstance of this discourse is taken notice of here which we had not in the other evangelists-that Christ was alone praying, and his disciples with him, when he entered into this discourse, v. 18. Observe,
Luk 9:28-36
We have here the narrative of Christ's transfiguration, which was designed for a specimen of that glory of his in which he will come to judge the world, of which he had lately been speaking, and, consequently, an encouragement to his disciples to suffer for him, and never to be ashamed of him. We had this account before in Matthew and Mark, and it is well worthy to be repeated to us, and reconsidered by us, for the confirmation of our faith in the Lord Jesus, as the brightness of his Father's glory and the light of the world, for the filling of our minds with high and honourable thoughts of him, notwithstanding his being clothed with a body, and giving us some idea of the glory which he entered into at his ascension, and in which he now appears within the veil, and for the raising and encouraging of our hopes and expectations concerning the glory reserved for all believers in the future state.
Luk 9:37-42
This passage of story in Matthew and Mark follows immediately upon that of Christ's transfiguration, and his discourse with his disciples after it; but here it is said to be on the next day, as they were coming down from the hill, which confirms the conjecture that Christ was transfigured in the night, and, it should seem, though they did not make tabernacles as Peter proposed, yet they found some shelter to repose themselves in all night, for it was not till next day that they came down from the hill, and then he found things in some disorder among his disciples, though not so bad as Moses did when he came down from the mount. When wise and good men are in their beloved retirements, they would do well to consider whether they are not wanted in their public stations.
In this narrative here, observe,
Luk 9:43-50
We may observe here,
Luk 9:51-56
This passage of story we have not in any other of the evangelists, and it seems to come in here for the sake of its affinity with that next before, for in this also Christ rebuked his disciples, because they envied for his sake. There, under colour of zeal for Christ, they were for silencing and restraining separatists: here, under the same colour, they were for putting infidels to death; and, as for that, so for this also, Christ reprimanded them, for a spirit of bigotry and persecution is directly contrary to the spirit of Christ and Christianity. Observe here,
Luk 9:57-62
We have here an account of three several persons that offered themselves to follow Christ, and the answers that Christ gave to each of them. The two former we had an account of in Mt. 19:21.
We may look upon this,
Observe,
