And G2532 when they had sung an hymn, G5214 they went out G1831 into G1519 the mount G3735 of Olives. G1636
In those days H3117 there was no king H4428 in Israel: H3478 and in those days H3117 the tribe H7626 of the Danites H1839 sought H1245 them an inheritance H5159 to dwell in; H3427 for unto that day H3117 all their inheritance H5159 had not fallen H5307 unto them among H8432 the tribes H7626 of Israel. H3478 And the children H1121 of Dan H1835 sent H7971 of their family H4940 five H2568 men H582 from their coasts, H7098 men H1121 of valour, H2428 from Zorah, H6881 and from Eshtaol, H847 to spy H7270 out the land, H776 and to search H2713 it; and they said H559 unto them, Go, H3212 search H2713 the land: H776 who when they came H935 to mount H2022 Ephraim, H669 to the house H1004 of Micah, H4318 they lodged H3885 there. When they were by the house H1004 of Micah, H4318 they knew H5234 the voice H6963 of the young man H5288 the Levite: H3881 and they turned in H5493 thither, and said H559 unto him, Who brought H935 thee hither? H1988 and what makest H6213 thou in this place? and what hast thou here? And he said H559 unto them, Thus H2090 and thus H2090 dealeth H6213 Micah H4318 with me, and hath hired H7936 me, and I am his priest. H3548
What G5101 is it G2076 then? G3767 I will pray G4336 with the spirit, G4151 and G1161 I will pray G4336 with the understanding G3563 also: G2532 I will sing G5567 with the spirit, G4151 and G1161 I will sing G5567 with the understanding G3563 also. G2532
And G2532 be G3182 not G3361 drunk G3182 with wine, G3631 wherein G1722 G3739 is G2076 excess; G810 but G235 be filled G4137 with G1722 the Spirit; G4151 Speaking G2980 to yourselves G1438 in psalms G5568 and G2532 hymns G5215 and G2532 spiritual G4152 songs, G5603 singing G103 and G2532 making melody G5567 in G1722 your G5216 heart G2588 to the Lord; G2962 Giving thanks G2168 always G3842 for G5228 all things G3956 unto God G2316 and G2532 the Father G3962 in G1722 the name G3686 of our G2257 Lord G2962 Jesus G2424 Christ; G5547
Let G1774 the word G3056 of Christ G5547 dwell G1774 in G1722 you G5213 richly G4146 in G1722 all G3956 wisdom; G4678 teaching G1321 and G2532 admonishing G3560 one another G1438 in psalms G5568 and G2532 hymns G5215 and G2532 spiritual G4152 songs, G5603 singing G103 with G1722 grace G5485 in G1722 your G5216 hearts G2588 to the Lord. G2962
Is G2553 any G5100 among G1722 you G5213 afflicted? G2553 let him pray. G4336 Is G2114 any G5100 merry? G2114 let him sing psalms. G5567
And G2532 they sung G103 a new G2537 song, G5603 saying, G3004 Thou art G1488 worthy G514 to take G2983 the book, G975 and G2532 to open G455 the seals G4973 thereof: G846 for G3754 thou wast slain, G4969 and G2532 hast redeemed G59 us G2248 to God G2316 by G1722 thy G4675 blood G129 out of G1537 every G3956 kindred, G5443 and G2532 tongue, G1100 and G2532 people, G2992 and G2532 nation; G1484

Commentary on Mark 14 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 14
In this chapter begins the account which this evangelist gives of the death and sufferings of our Lord Jesus, which we are all concerned to be acquainted, not only with the history of, but with the mystery of. Here is,
Most of which passages we had before, Mt. 26.
Mar 14:1-11
We have here instances,
Now,
Now see,
Mar 14:12-31
In these verses we have,
Now, in answer to their enquiry, Christ saith that,
But Christ encourages them with a promise that they shall rally again, shall return both to their duty and to their comfort (v. 28); "After I am risen, I will gather you in from all the places wither you are scattered, Eze. 34:12. I will go before you into Galilee, will see our friends, and enjoy one another there.'
Mar 14:32-42
Christ is here entering upon his sufferings, and begins with those which were the sorest of all his sufferings, those in his soul. Here we have him in his agony; this melancholy story we had in Matthew; this agony in soul was the wormwood and the gall in the affliction and misery; and thereby it appeared that no sorrow was forced upon him, but that it was what he freely admitted.
Now the consideration of Christ's sufferings in his soul, and his sorrows for us, should be of use to us,
As those whom Christ loves he rebukes when they do amiss, so those whom he rebukes he counsels and comforts.
Mar 14:43-52
We have here the seizing of our Lord Jesus by the officers of the chief priests. This was what his enemies had long aimed at, they had often sent to take him; but he had escaped out of their hands, because his hour was not come, nor could they now have taken him, had he not freely surrendered himself. He began first to suffer in his soul, but afterward suffered in his body, that he might satisfy for sin, which begins in the heart, but afterwards makes the members of the body instruments of unrighteousness.
Mar 14:53-65
We have here Christ's arraignment, trial, conviction, and condemnation, in the ecclesiastical court, before the great sanhedrim, of which the high priest was president, or judge of the court; the same Caiaphas that had lately adjudged it expedient he should be put to death, guilty or not guilty (Jn. 11:50), and who therefore might justly be excepted against as partial.
Mar 14:66-72
We have here the story of Peter's denying Christ.
