41 And G2532 he cometh G2064 the third time, G5154 and G2532 saith G3004 unto them, G846 Sleep on G2518 now, G3063 and G2532 take your rest: G373 it is enough, G566 the hour G5610 is come; G2064 behold, G2400 the Son G5207 of man G444 is betrayed G3860 into G1519 the hands G5495 of sinners. G268
For G1063 he taught G1321 his G846 disciples, G3101 and G2532 said G3004 unto them, G846 G3754 The Son G5207 of man G444 is delivered G3860 into G1519 the hands G5495 of men, G444 and G2532 they shall kill G615 him; G846 and G2532 after that he is killed, G615 he shall rise G450 the third G5154 day. G2250
Which G5101 of the prophets G4396 have G1377 not G3756 your G5216 fathers G3962 persecuted? G1377 and G2532 they have slain G615 them which G3588 shewed before G4293 of G4012 the coming G1660 of the Just One; G1342 of whom G3739 ye G5210 have been G1096 now G3568 the betrayers G4273 and G2532 murderers: G5406
These words G5023 spake G2980 Jesus, G2424 and G2532 lifted up G1869 his G846 eyes G3788 to G1519 heaven, G3772 and G2532 said, G2036 Father, G3962 the hour G5610 is come; G2064 glorify G1392 thy G4675 Son, G5207 that G2443 thy G4675 Son G5207 also G2532 may glorify G1392 thee: G4571
Now G1161 before G4253 the feast G1859 of the passover, G3957 when Jesus G2424 knew G1492 that G3754 his G846 hour G5610 was come G2064 that G2443 he should depart G3327 out of G1537 this G5127 world G2889 unto G4314 the Father, G3962 having loved G25 his own G2398 which G3588 were in G1722 the world, G2889 he loved G25 them G846 unto G1519 the end. G5056 And G2532 supper G1173 being ended, G1096 the devil G1228 having now G2235 put G906 into G1519 the heart G2588 of Judas G2455 Iscariot, G2469 Simon's G4613 son, to G2443 betray G3860 him; G846
Now G3568 is G5015 my G3450 soul G5590 troubled; G5015 and G2532 what G5101 shall I say? G2036 Father, G3962 save G4982 me G3165 from G1537 this G5026 hour: G5610 but G235 for this G5124 cause G1223 came I G2064 unto G1519 this G5026 hour. G5610
Then G3767 they sought G2212 to take G4084 him: G846 but G2532 no man G3762 laid G1911 hands G5495 on G1909 him, G846 because G3754 his G846 hour G5610 was G2064 not yet G3768 come. G2064
Saying, G3754 Behold, G2400 we go up G305 to G1519 Jerusalem; G2414 and G2532 the Son G5207 of man G444 shall be delivered G3860 unto the chief priests, G749 and G2532 unto the scribes; G1122 and G2532 they shall condemn G2632 him G846 to death, G2288 and G2532 shall deliver G3860 him G846 to the Gentiles: G1484 And G2532 they shall mock G1702 him, G846 and G2532 shall scourge G3146 him, G846 and G2532 shall spit upon G1716 him, G846 and G2532 shall kill G615 him: G846 and G2532 the third G5154 day G2250 he shall rise again. G450
And G2532 he said G3004 unto them, G846 Full well G2573 ye reject G114 the commandment G1785 of God, G2316 that G2443 ye may keep G5083 your own G5216 tradition. G3862
Then G5119 cometh he G2064 to G4314 his G846 disciples, G3101 and G2532 saith G3004 unto them, G846 Sleep on G2518 now, G3063 and G2532 take your rest: G373 behold, G2400 the hour G5610 is at hand, G1448 and G2532 the Son G5207 of man G444 is betrayed G3860 into G1519 the hands G5495 of sinners. G268 Rise, G1453 let us be going: G71 behold, G2400 he is at hand G1448 that doth betray G3860 me. G3165
Ye know G1492 that G3754 after G3326 two G1417 days G2250 is G1096 the feast of the passover, G3957 and G2532 the Son G5207 of man G444 is betrayed G3860 to G1519 be crucified. G4717
As for you, O house H1004 of Israel, H3478 thus saith H559 the Lord H136 GOD; H3069 Go H3212 ye, serve H5647 ye every one H376 his idols, H1544 and hereafter H310 also, if ye will not hearken H8085 unto me: but pollute H2490 ye my holy H6944 name H8034 no more with your gifts, H4979 and with your idols. H1544
Rejoice, H8055 O young man, H970 in thy youth; H3208 and let thy heart H3820 cheer H2895 thee in the days H3117 of thy youth, H979 and walk H1980 in the ways H1870 of thine heart, H3820 and in the sight H4758 of thine eyes: H5869 but know H3045 thou, that for all these things God H430 will bring H935 thee into judgment. H4941
And Elisha H477 said H559 unto the king H4428 of Israel, H3478 What have I to do with thee? get H3212 thee to the prophets H5030 of thy father, H1 and to the prophets H5030 of thy mother. H517 And the king H4428 of Israel H3478 said H559 unto him, Nay: for the LORD H3068 hath called H7121 these three H7969 kings H4428 together, H7121 to deliver H5414 them into the hand H3027 of Moab. H4124
So he came H935 to the king. H4428 And the king H4428 said H559 unto him, Micaiah, H4321 shall we go H3212 against Ramothgilead H7433 H1568 to battle, H4421 or shall we forbear? H2308 And he answered H559 him, Go, H5927 and prosper: H6743 for the LORD H3068 shall deliver H5414 it into the hand H3027 of the king. H4428
And it came to pass at noon, H6672 that Elijah H452 mocked H2048 them, and said, H559 Cry H7121 aloud: H1419 H6963 for he is a god; H430 either he is talking, H7879 or he is pursuing, H7873 or he is in a journey, H1870 or peradventure H194 he sleepeth, H3463 and must be awaked. H3364

Commentary on Mark 14 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 14
In this chapter begins the account which this evangelist gives of the death and sufferings of our Lord Jesus, which we are all concerned to be acquainted, not only with the history of, but with the mystery of. Here is,
Most of which passages we had before, Mt. 26.
Mar 14:1-11
We have here instances,
Now,
Now see,
Mar 14:12-31
In these verses we have,
Now, in answer to their enquiry, Christ saith that,
But Christ encourages them with a promise that they shall rally again, shall return both to their duty and to their comfort (v. 28); "After I am risen, I will gather you in from all the places wither you are scattered, Eze. 34:12. I will go before you into Galilee, will see our friends, and enjoy one another there.'
Mar 14:32-42
Christ is here entering upon his sufferings, and begins with those which were the sorest of all his sufferings, those in his soul. Here we have him in his agony; this melancholy story we had in Matthew; this agony in soul was the wormwood and the gall in the affliction and misery; and thereby it appeared that no sorrow was forced upon him, but that it was what he freely admitted.
Now the consideration of Christ's sufferings in his soul, and his sorrows for us, should be of use to us,
As those whom Christ loves he rebukes when they do amiss, so those whom he rebukes he counsels and comforts.
Mar 14:43-52
We have here the seizing of our Lord Jesus by the officers of the chief priests. This was what his enemies had long aimed at, they had often sent to take him; but he had escaped out of their hands, because his hour was not come, nor could they now have taken him, had he not freely surrendered himself. He began first to suffer in his soul, but afterward suffered in his body, that he might satisfy for sin, which begins in the heart, but afterwards makes the members of the body instruments of unrighteousness.
Mar 14:53-65
We have here Christ's arraignment, trial, conviction, and condemnation, in the ecclesiastical court, before the great sanhedrim, of which the high priest was president, or judge of the court; the same Caiaphas that had lately adjudged it expedient he should be put to death, guilty or not guilty (Jn. 11:50), and who therefore might justly be excepted against as partial.
Mar 14:66-72
We have here the story of Peter's denying Christ.
