43 Also that day H3117 they offered H2076 great H1419 sacrifices, H2077 and rejoiced: H8055 for God H430 had made them rejoice H8055 with great H1419 joy: H8057 the wives H802 also and the children H3206 rejoiced: H8055 so that the joy H8057 of Jerusalem H3389 was heard H8085 even afar off. H7350
Rejoice H8055 ye with Jerusalem, H3389 and be glad H1523 with her, all ye that love H157 her: rejoice H7797 for joy H4885 with her, all ye that mourn H56 for her: That ye may suck, H3243 and be satisfied H7646 with the breasts H7699 of her consolations; H8575 that ye may milk out, H4711 and be delighted H6026 with the abundance H2123 of her glory. H3519 For thus saith H559 the LORD, H3068 Behold, I will extend H5186 peace H7965 to her like a river, H5104 and the glory H3519 of the Gentiles H1471 like a flowing H7857 stream: H5158 then shall ye suck, H3243 ye shall be borne H5375 upon her sides, H6654 and be dandled H8173 upon her knees. H1290 As one H376 whom his mother H517 comforteth, H5162 so will I comfort H5162 you; and ye shall be comforted H5162 in Jerusalem. H3389 And when ye see H7200 this, your heart H3820 shall rejoice, H7797 and your bones H6106 shall flourish H6524 like an herb: H1877 and the hand H3027 of the LORD H3068 shall be known H3045 toward his servants, H5650 and his indignation H2194 toward his enemies. H341
Kings H4428 of the earth, H776 and all people; H3816 princes, H8269 and all judges H8199 of the earth: H776 Both young men, H970 and maidens; H1330 old men, H2205 and children: H5288 Let them praise H1984 the name H8034 of the LORD: H3068 for his name H8034 alone is excellent; H7682 his glory H1935 is above the earth H776 and heaven. H8064
Thou hast turned H2015 for me my mourning H4553 into dancing: H4234 thou hast put off H6605 my sackcloth, H8242 and girded H247 me with gladness; H8057 To the end that my glory H3519 may sing H2167 praise to thee, and not be silent. H1826 O LORD H3068 my God, H430 I will give thanks H3034 unto thee for ever. H5769
And Miriam H4813 the prophetess, H5031 the sister H269 of Aaron, H175 took H3947 a timbrel H8596 in her hand; H3027 and all the women H802 went out H3318 after H310 her with timbrels H8596 and with dances. H4246 And Miriam H4813 answered H6030 them, Sing H7891 ye to the LORD, H3068 for he hath triumphed H1342 gloriously; H1342 the horse H5483 and his rider H7392 hath he thrown H7411 into the sea. H3220
And also the burnt offerings H5930 were in abundance, H7230 with the fat H2459 of the peace offerings, H8002 and the drink offerings H5262 for every burnt offering. H5930 So the service H5656 of the house H1004 of the LORD H3068 was set in order. H3559 And Hezekiah H3169 rejoiced, H8055 and all the people, H5971 that God H430 had prepared H3559 the people: H5971 for the thing H1697 was done suddenly. H6597
And king H4428 Solomon H8010 offered H2076 a sacrifice H2077 of twenty H6242 and two H8147 thousand H505 oxen, H1241 and an hundred H3967 and twenty H6242 thousand H505 sheep: H6629 so the king H4428 and all the people H5971 dedicated H2596 the house H1004 of God. H430 And the priests H3548 waited H5975 on their offices: H4931 the Levites H3881 also with instruments H3627 of musick H7892 of the LORD, H3068 which David H1732 the king H4428 had made H6213 to praise H3034 the LORD, H3068 because his mercy H2617 endureth for ever, H5769 when David H1732 praised H1984 by their ministry; H3027 and the priests H3548 sounded trumpets H2690 H2690 before them, and all Israel H3478 stood. H5975 Moreover Solomon H8010 hallowed H6942 the middle H8432 of the court H2691 that was before H6440 the house H1004 of the LORD: H3068 for there he offered H6213 burnt offerings, H5930 and the fat H2459 of the peace offerings, H8002 because the brasen H5178 altar H4196 which Solomon H8010 had made H6213 was not able H3201 to receive H3557 the burnt offerings, H5930 and the meat offerings, H4503 and the fat. H2459
And they sacrificed H2076 sacrifices H2077 unto the LORD, H3068 and offered H5927 burnt offerings H5930 unto the LORD, H3068 on the morrow H4283 after that day, H3117 even a thousand H505 bullocks, H6499 a thousand H505 rams, H352 and a thousand H505 lambs, H3532 with their drink offerings, H5262 and sacrifices H2077 in abundance H7230 for all Israel: H3478 And did eat H398 and drink H8354 before H6440 the LORD H3068 on that day H3117 with great H1419 gladness. H8057 And they made Solomon H8010 the son H1121 of David H1732 king H4427 the second time, H8145 and anointed H4886 him unto the LORD H3068 to be the chief governor, H5057 and Zadok H6659 to be priest. H3548
Then there shall be a place H4725 which the LORD H3068 your God H430 shall choose H977 to cause his name H8034 to dwell H7931 there; thither shall ye bring H935 all that I command H6680 you; your burnt offerings, H5930 and your sacrifices, H2077 your tithes, H4643 and the heave offering H8641 of your hand, H3027 and all your choice H4005 vows H5088 which ye vow H5087 unto the LORD: H3068 And ye shall rejoice H8055 before H6440 the LORD H3068 your God, H430 ye, and your sons, H1121 and your daughters, H1323 and your menservants, H5650 and your maidservants, H519 and the Levite H3881 that is within your gates; H8179 forasmuch H3588 as he hath no part H2506 nor inheritance H5159 with you.

Commentary on Nehemiah 12 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 12
In this chapter are preserved upon record,
Neh 12:1-26
We have here the names, and little more than the names, of a great many priests and Levites, that were eminent in their day among the returned Jews. Why this register should be here inserted by Nehemiah does not appear, perhaps to keep in remembrance those good men, that posterity might know to whom they were beholden, under God, for the happy revival and re-establishment of their religion among them. Thus must we contribute towards the performance of that promise, Ps. 112:6, The righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. Let the memory of the just be blessed, be perpetuated. It is a debt we still owe to faithful ministers to remember our guides, who have spoken to us the word of God, Heb. 13:7. Perhaps it is intended to stir up their posterity, who succeeded them in the priest's office and inherited their dignities and preferments, to imitate their courage and fidelity. It is good to know what our godly ancestors and predecessors were, that we may learn thereby what we should be. We have here,
Neh 12:27-43
We have read of the building of the wall of Jerusalem with a great deal of fear and trembling; we have here an account of the dedicating of it with a great deal of joy and triumph. Those that sow in tears shall thus reap.
Neh 12:44-47
We have here an account of the remaining good effects of the universal joy that was at the dedication of the wall. When the solemnities of a thanksgiving day leave such impressions on ministers and people as that both are more careful and cheerful in doing their duty afterwards, then they are indeed acceptable to God and turn to a good account. So it was here.
