5 For in the time H3117 of trouble H7451 he shall hide H6845 me in his pavilion: H5520 in the secret H5643 of his tabernacle H168 shall he hide H5641 me; he shall set me up H7311 upon a rock. H6697
Because I have called, H7121 and ye refused; H3985 I have stretched out H5186 my hand, H3027 and no man regarded; H7181 But ye have set at nought H6544 all my counsel, H6098 and would H14 none of my reproof: H8433 I also will laugh H7832 at your calamity; H343 I will mock H3932 when your fear H6343 cometh; H935 When your fear H6343 cometh H935 as desolation, H7722 H7584 and your destruction H343 cometh H857 as a whirlwind; H5492 when distress H6869 and anguish H6695 cometh H935 upon you. Then shall they call H7121 upon me, but I will not answer; H6030 they shall seek me early, H7836 but they shall not find H4672 me:
Therefore G3767 whosoever G3956 G3748 heareth G191 these G5128 sayings G3056 of mine, G3450 and G2532 doeth G4160 them, G846 I will liken G3666 him G846 unto a wise G5429 man, G435 which G3748 built G3618 his G846 house G3614 upon G1909 a rock: G4073 And G2532 the rain G1028 descended, G2597 and G2532 the floods G4215 came, G2064 and G2532 the winds G417 blew, G4154 and G2532 beat upon G4363 that G1565 house; G3614 and G2532 it fell G4098 not: G3756 for G1063 it was founded G2311 upon G1909 a rock. G4073
For this shall every one that is godly H2623 pray H6419 unto thee in a time H6256 when thou mayest be found: H4672 surely in the floods H7858 of great H7227 waters H4325 they shall not come nigh H5060 unto him. Thou art my hiding place; H5643 thou shalt preserve H5341 me from trouble; H6862 thou shalt compass H5437 me about with songs H7438 of deliverance. H6405 Selah. H5542
Afterward I came H935 unto the house H1004 of Shemaiah H8098 the son H1121 of Delaiah H1806 the son H1121 of Mehetabeel, H4105 who was shut up; H6113 and he said, H559 Let us meet together H3259 in the house H1004 of God, H430 within H8432 the temple, H1964 and let us shut H5462 the doors H1817 of the temple: H1964 for they will come H935 to slay H2026 thee; yea, in the night H3915 will they come H935 to slay H2026 thee. And I said, H559 Should such H3644 a man H376 as I flee? H1272 and who is there, that, being as I am, would go H935 into the temple H1964 to save his life? H2425 I will not go in. H935
And the LORD H3068 will create H1254 upon every dwelling place H4349 of mount H2022 Zion, H6726 and upon her assemblies, H4744 a cloud H6051 and smoke H6227 by day, H3119 and the shining H5051 of a flaming H3852 fire H784 by night: H3915 for upon all the glory H3519 shall be a defence. H2646 And there shall be a tabernacle H5521 for a shadow H6738 in the daytime H3119 from the heat, H2721 and for a place of refuge, H4268 and for a covert H4563 from storm H2230 and from rain. H4306
Saying H559 to a stock, H6086 Thou art my father; H1 and to a stone, H68 Thou hast brought me forth: H3205 for they have turned H6437 their back H6203 unto me, and not their face: H6440 but in the time H6256 of their trouble H7451 they will say, H559 Arise, H6965 and save H3467 us. But where are thy gods H430 that thou hast made H6213 thee? let them arise, H6965 if they can save H3467 thee in the time H6256 of thy trouble: H7451 for according to the number H4557 of thy cities H5892 are thy gods, H430 O Judah. H3063
And G1161 Simon G4613 Peter G4074 answered G611 and said, G2036 Thou G4771 art G1488 the Christ, G5547 the Son G5207 of the living G2198 God. G2316 And G2532 Jesus G2424 answered G611 and said G2036 unto him, G846 Blessed G3107 art thou, G1488 Simon G4613 Barjona: G920 for G3754 flesh G4561 and G2532 blood G129 hath G601 not G3756 revealed G601 it unto thee, G4671 but G235 my G3450 Father G3962 which G3588 is in G1722 heaven. G3772 And G1161 I say G3004 also G2504 unto thee, G4671 That G3754 thou G4771 art G1488 Peter, G4074 and G2532 upon G1909 this G5026 rock G4073 I will build G3618 my G3450 church; G1577 and G2532 the gates G4439 of hell G86 shall G2729 not G3756 prevail against G2729 it. G846
Yet I will rejoice H5937 in the LORD, H3068 I will joy H1523 in the God H430 of my salvation. H3468 The LORD H3069 God H136 is my strength, H2428 and he will make H7760 my feet H7272 like hinds' H355 feet, and he will make me to walk H1869 upon mine high places. H1116 To the chief singer H5329 on my stringed instruments. H5058

Commentary on Psalms 27 Matthew Henry Commentary
Psalm 27
Some think David penned this psalm before his coming to the throne, when he was in the midst of his troubles, and perhaps upon occasion of the death of his parents; but the Jews think he penned it when he was old, upon occasion of the wonderful deliverance he had from the sword of the giant, when Abishai succoured him (2 Sa. 21:16, 17) and his people thereupon resolved he should never venture his life again in battle, lest he should quench the light of Israel. Perhaps it was not penned upon any particular occasion; but it is very expressive of the pious and devout affections with which gracious souls are carried out towards God at all times, especially in times of trouble. Here is,
And let our hearts be thus affected in singing this psalm.
A psalm of David.
