9 Yea, mine own familiar H7965 friend, H376 in whom I trusted, H982 which did eat H398 of my bread, H3899 hath lifted up H1431 his heel H6119 against me.
I speak G3004 not G3756 of G4012 you G5216 all: G3956 I G1473 know G1492 whom G3739 I have chosen: G1586 but G235 that G2443 the scripture G1124 may be fulfilled, G4137 He that eateth G5176 bread G740 with G3326 me G1700 hath lifted up G1869 his G846 heel G4418 against G1909 me. G1691
All my inward H5475 friends H4962 abhorred H8581 me: and they whom I loved H157 are turned H2015 against me.
And Absalom H53 sent H7971 for Ahithophel H302 the Gilonite, H1526 David's H1732 counsellor, H3289 from his city, H5892 even from Giloh, H1542 while he offered H2076 sacrifices. H2077 And the conspiracy H7195 was strong; H533 for the people H5971 increased H7227 continually H1980 with Absalom. H53
For I heard H8085 the defaming H1681 of many, H7227 fear H4032 on every side. H5439 Report, H5046 say they, and we will report H5046 it. All my familiars H582 H7965 watched H8104 for my halting, H6763 H6761 saying, Peradventure he will be enticed, H6601 and we shall prevail H3201 against him, and we shall take H3947 our revenge H5360 on him.
He hath put H7368 my brethren H251 far H7368 from me, and mine acquaintance H3045 are verily estranged H2114 from me.
For it was not an enemy H341 that reproached H2778 me; then I could have borne H5375 it: neither was it he that hated H8130 me that did magnify H1431 himself against me; then I would have hid H5641 myself from him: But it was thou, a man H582 mine equal, H6187 my guide, H441 and mine acquaintance. H3045 We took sweet H4985 counsel H5475 together, H3162 and walked H1980 unto the house H1004 of God H430 in company. H7285
Trust H539 ye not in a friend, H7453 put ye not confidence H982 in a guide: H441 keep H8104 the doors H6607 of thy mouth H6310 from her that lieth H7901 in thy bosom. H2436
But Jeshurun H3484 waxed fat, H8080 and kicked: H1163 thou art waxen fat, H8080 thou art grown thick, H5666 thou art covered H3780 with fatness; then he forsook H5203 God H433 which made H6213 him, and lightly esteemed H5034 the Rock H6697 of his salvation. H3444
All the men H582 of thy confederacy H1285 have brought H7971 thee even to the border: H1366 the men H582 that were at peace H7965 with thee have deceived H5377 thee, and prevailed H3201 against thee; they that eat thy bread H3899 have laid H7760 a wound H4204 under thee: there is none understanding H8394 in him.
And G1161 he answered G611 and said, G2036 He that dippeth G1686 his hand G5495 with G3326 me G1700 in G1722 the dish, G5165 the same G3778 shall betray G3860 me. G3165
Jesus G2424 answered, G611 He G1565 it is, G2076 to whom G3739 I shall give G1929 a sop, G5596 when I G1473 have dipped G911 it. And G2532 when he had dipped G1686 the sop, G5596 he gave G1325 it to Judas G2455 Iscariot, G2469 the son of Simon. G4613 And G2532 after G3326 the sop G5596 G5119 Satan G4567 entered G1525 into G1519 him. G1565 Then G3767 said G3004 Jesus G2424 unto him, G846 That G3739 thou doest, G4160 do G4160 quickly. G5032
He hath put forth H7971 his hands H3027 against such as be at peace H7965 with him: he hath broken H2490 his covenant. H1285 The words of his mouth H6310 were smoother H2505 than butter, H4260 but war H7128 was in his heart: H3820 his words H1697 were softer H7401 than oil, H8081 yet were they drawn swords. H6609 Cast H7993 thy burden H3053 upon the LORD, H3068 and he shall sustain H3557 thee: he shall never H5769 suffer H5414 the righteous H6662 to be moved. H4131

Commentary on Psalms 41 Matthew Henry Commentary
Psalm 41
God's kindness and truth have often been the support and comfort of the saints when they have had most experience of man's unkindness and treachery. David here found them so, upon a sick-bed; he found his enemies very barbarous, but his God very gracious.
Is any afflicted with sickness? let him sing the beginning of this psalm. Is any persecuted by enemies? let him sing the latter end of it; and we may any of us, in singing it, meditate upon both the calamities and comforts of good people in this world.
To the chief musician. A psalm of David.
Psa 41:1-4
In these verses we have,
Psa 41:5-13
David often complains of the insolent conduct of his enemies towards him when he was sick, which, as it was very barbarous in them, so it could not but be very grievous to him. They had not indeed arrived at that modern pitch of wickedness of poisoning his meat and drink, or giving him something to make him sick; but, when he was sick, they insulted over him (v. 5): My enemies speak evil of me, designing thereby to grieve his spirit, to ruin his reputation, and so to sink his interest.
