14 Like sheep H6629 they are laid H8371 in the grave; H7585 death H4194 shall feed H7462 on them; and the upright H3477 shall have dominion H7287 over them in the morning; H1242 and their beauty H6697 H6736 shall consume H1086 in the grave H7585 from their dwelling. H2073
And ye shall tread down H6072 the wicked; H7563 for they shall be ashes H665 under the soles H3709 of your feet H7272 in the day H3117 that I shall do H6213 this, saith H559 the LORD H3068 of hosts. H6635
That G2443 ye may eat G2068 and G2532 drink G4095 at G1909 my G3450 table G5132 in G1722 my G3450 kingdom, G932 and G2532 sit G2523 on G1909 thrones G2362 judging G2919 the twelve G1427 tribes G5443 of Israel. G2474
Drought H6723 and heat H2527 consume H1497 the snow H7950 waters: H4325 so doth the grave H7585 those which have sinned. H2398 The womb H7358 shall forget H7911 him; the worm H7415 shall feed sweetly H4988 on him; he shall be no more remembered; H2142 and wickedness H5766 shall be broken H7665 as a tree. H6086
But the saints H6922 of the most High H5946 shall take H6902 the kingdom, H4437 and possess H2631 the kingdom H4437 for H5705 ever, H5957 even for H5705 ever H5957 and ever. H5957
And G2532 I saw G1492 thrones, G2362 and G2532 they sat G2523 upon G1909 them, G846 and G2532 judgment G2917 was given G1325 unto them: G846 and G2532 I saw the souls G5590 of them that were beheaded G3990 for G1223 the witness G3141 of Jesus, G2424 and G2532 for G1223 the word G3056 of God, G2316 and G2532 which G3748 had G4352 not G3756 worshipped G4352 the beast, G2342 neither G3777 his G846 image, G1504 G2532 neither G3756 had received G2983 his mark G5480 upon G1909 their G846 foreheads, G3359 or G2532 in G1909 their G846 hands; G5495 and G2532 they lived G2198 and G2532 reigned G936 with G3326 Christ G5547 a thousand G5507 years. G2094 But G1161 the rest G3062 of the dead G3498 lived G326 not G3756 again G326 until G2193 the thousand G5507 years G2094 were finished. G5055 This G3778 is the first G4413 resurrection. G386
And G2532 he that overcometh, G3528 and G2532 keepeth G5083 my G3450 works G2041 unto G891 the end, G5056 to him G846 will I give G1325 power G1849 over G1909 the nations: G1484 And G2532 he shall rule G4165 them G846 with G1722 a rod G4464 of iron; G4603 as G5613 the vessels G4632 of a potter G2764 shall they be broken to shivers: G4937 even G2504 as G5613 I G2504 received G2983 of G3844 my G3450 Father. G3962
Doth not their excellency H3499 which is in them go away? H5265 they die, H4191 even without wisdom. H2451
But thou, O LORD, H3068 knowest H3045 me: thou hast seen H7200 me, and tried H974 mine heart H3820 toward thee: pull them out H5423 like sheep H6629 for the slaughter, H2878 and prepare H6942 them for the day H3117 of slaughter. H2028
I said H559 in the cutting off H1824 of my days, H3117 I shall go H3212 to the gates H8179 of the grave: H7585 I am deprived H6485 of the residue H3499 of my years. H8141 I said, H559 I shall not see H7200 the LORD, H3050 even the LORD, H3050 in the land H776 of the living: H2416 I shall behold H5027 man H120 no more with the inhabitants H3427 of the world. H2309
Then shall the dust H6083 return H7725 to the earth H776 as it was: and the spirit H7307 shall return H7725 unto God H430 who gave H5414 it.
He shall subdue H1696 the people H5971 under us, and the nations H3816 under our feet. H7272
For his anger H639 endureth but a moment; H7281 in his favour H7522 is life: H2416 weeping H1065 may endure H3885 for a night, H6153 but joy H7440 cometh in the morning. H1242

Commentary on Psalms 49 Matthew Henry Commentary
Psalm 49
This psalm is a sermon, and so is the next. In most of the psalms we have the penman praying or praising; in these we have him preaching; and it is our duty, in singing psalms, to teach and admonish ourselves and one another. The scope and design of this discourse is to convince the men of this world of their sin and folly in setting their hearts upon the things of this world, and so to persuade them to seek the things of a better world; as also to comfort the people of God, in reference to their own troubles and the grief that arises from the prosperity of the wicked.
In singing this psalm let us receive these instructions, and be wise.
To the chief musician. A psalm for the sons of Korah.
Psa 49:1-5
This is the psalmist's preface to his discourse concerning the vanity of the world and its insufficiency to make us happy; and we seldom meet with an introduction more solemn than this is; for there is no truth of more undoubted certainty, nor of greater weight and importance, and the consideration of which will be of more advantage to us.
