3 Because of the voice H6963 of the enemy, H341 because H6440 of the oppression H6125 of the wicked: H7563 for they cast H4131 iniquity H205 upon me, and in wrath H639 they hate H7852 me.
And thus said H559 Shimei H8096 when he cursed, H7043 Come out, H3318 come out, H3318 thou bloody H1818 man, H376 and thou man H376 of Belial: H1100 The LORD H3068 hath returned H7725 upon thee all the blood H1818 of the house H1004 of Saul, H7586 in whose stead thou hast reigned; H4427 and the LORD H3068 hath delivered H5414 the kingdom H4410 into the hand H3027 of Absalom H53 thy son: H1121 and, behold, thou art taken in thy mischief, H7451 because thou art a bloody H1818 man. H376
And Absalom H53 said H559 unto him, See, H7200 thy matters H1697 are good H2896 and right; H5228 but there is no man deputed of the king H4428 to hear H8085 thee.
And said H559 unto the king, H4428 Let not my lord H113 impute H2803 iniquity H5771 unto me, neither do thou remember H2142 that which thy servant H5650 did perversely H5753 the day H3117 that my lord H113 the king H4428 went out H3318 of Jerusalem, H3389 that the king H4428 should take H7760 it to his heart. H3820
For the oppression H7701 of the poor, H6041 for the sighing H603 of the needy, H34 now will I arise, H6965 saith H559 the LORD; H3068 I will set H7896 him in safety H3468 from him that puffeth H6315 at him.
False H2555 witnesses H5707 did rise up; H6965 they laid to my charge H7592 things that I knew H3045 not.
They are corrupt, H4167 and speak H1696 wickedly H7451 concerning oppression: H6233 they speak H1696 loftily. H4791

Commentary on Psalms 55 Matthew Henry Commentary
Psalm 55
It is the conjecture of many expositors that David penned this psalm upon occasion of Absalom's rebellion, and that the particular enemy he here speaks of, that dealt treacherously with him, was Ahithophel; and some will therefore make David's troubles here typical of Christ's sufferings, and Ahithophel's treachery a figure of Judas's, because they both hanged themselves. But there is nothing in it particularly applied to Christ in the New Testament. David was in great distress when he penned this psalm.
In singing this psalm we may, if there be occasion, apply it to our own troubles; if not, we may sympathize with those to whose case it comes nearer, foreseeing that there will be, at last, indignation and wrath to the persecutors, salvation and joy to the persecuted.
To the chief musician on Neginoth, Maschil. A psalm of David.

David here complains of his enemies, whose wicked plots had brought him, though not to his faith's end, yet to his wits' end, and prays against them by the spirit of prophecy. Observe here,
