13 Thy plants H7973 are an orchard H6508 of pomegranates, H7416 with pleasant H4022 fruits; H6529 camphire, H3724 with spikenard, H5373
My beloved H1730 is unto me as a cluster H811 of camphire H3724 in the vineyards H3754 of Engedi. H5872
While the king H4428 sitteth at his table, H4524 my spikenard H5373 sendeth forth H5414 the smell H7381 thereof.
They shall still bring forth fruit H5107 in old age; H7872 they shall be fat H1879 and flourishing; H7488
My beloved H1730 is gone down H3381 into his garden, H1588 to the beds H6170 of spices, H1314 to feed H7462 in the gardens, H1588 and to gather H3950 lilies. H7799
Let us get up early H7925 to the vineyards; H3754 let us see H7200 if the vine H1612 flourish, H6524 whether the tender grape H5563 appear, H6605 and the pomegranates H7416 bud forth: H5132 there will I give H5414 thee my loves. H1730 The mandrakes H1736 give H5414 a smell, H7381 and at our gates H6607 are all manner of pleasant H4022 fruits, new H2319 and old, H3465 which I have laid up H6845 for thee, O my beloved. H1730
Thy people H5971 also shall be all righteous: H6662 they shall inherit H3423 the land H776 for ever, H5769 the branch H5342 of my planting, H4302 the work H4639 of my hands, H3027 that I may be glorified. H6286
For as the earth H776 bringeth forth H3318 her bud, H6780 and as the garden H1593 causeth the things that are sown H2221 in it to spring forth; H6779 so the Lord H136 GOD H3069 will cause righteousness H6666 and praise H8416 to spring forth H6779 before all the nations. H1471
And G2532 being G846 G5607 in G1722 Bethany G963 in G1722 the house G3614 of Simon G4613 the leper, G3015 as he G846 sat at meat, G2621 there came G2064 a woman G1135 having G2192 an alabaster box G211 of ointment G3464 of spikenard G3487 G4101 very precious; G4185 and G2532 she brake G4937 the box, G211 and poured G2708 it on G2596 his G846 head. G2776
Then G3767 took G2983 Mary G3137 a pound G3046 of ointment G3464 of spikenard, G3487 G4101 very costly, G4186 and anointed G218 the feet G4228 of Jesus, G2424 and G2532 wiped G1591 his G846 feet G4228 with her G846 hair: G2359 and G1161 the house G3614 was filled G4137 with G1537 the odour G3744 of the ointment. G3464
I G1473 am G1510 the true G228 vine, G288 and G2532 my G3450 Father G3962 is G2076 the husbandman. G1092 Every G3956 branch G2814 in G1722 me G1698 that G846 beareth G5342 not G3361 fruit G2590 he taketh away: G142 and G2532 every G3956 branch that beareth G5342 fruit, G2590 he purgeth G2508 it, G846 that G2443 it may bring forth G5342 more G4119 fruit. G2590 Now G2235 ye G5210 are G2075 clean G2513 through G1223 the word G3056 which G3739 I have spoken G2980 unto you. G5213

Commentary on Song of Songs 4 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 4
In this chapter,
Sgs 4:1-7
Here is,
Sgs 4:8-14
These are still the words of Christ to his church, expressing his great esteem of her and affection to her, the opinion he had of her beauty and excellency, the desire he had of, and the delight he had in, her converse and society. And so ought men to love their wives as Christ loves the church, and takes pleasure in it as if it were spotless and had no fault, when yet it is compassed with infirmity. Now, observe here,
Sgs 4:15-16
These seem to be the words of the spouse, the church, in answer to the commendations which Christ, the bridegroom, had given of her as a pleasant fruitful garden. Is she a garden?
