12 Both riches and honor come of you, and you rule over all; and in your hand is power and might; and it is in your hand to make great, and to give strength to all.
You king, the Most High God gave Nebuchadnezzar your father the kingdom, and greatness, and glory, and majesty: and because of the greatness that he gave him, all the peoples, nations, and languages trembled and feared before him: whom he would he killed, and whom he would he kept alive; and whom he would he raised up, and whom he would he put down. But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit was hardened so that he dealt proudly, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him: and he was driven from the sons of men, and his heart was made like the animals', and his dwelling was with the wild donkeys; he was fed with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of the sky; until he knew that the Most High God rules in the kingdom of men, and that he sets up over it whoever he will.
He has shown strength with his arm. He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their heart. He has put down princes from their thrones. And has exalted the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things. He has sent the rich away empty.
Yahweh makes poor, and makes rich: He brings low, he also lifts up. He raises up the poor out of the dust, He lifts up the needy from the dunghill, To make them sit with princes, Inherit the throne of glory: For the pillars of the earth are Yahweh's, He has set the world on them.
For who is God, except Yahweh? Who is a rock, besides our God, The God who arms me with strength, and makes my way perfect?
For neither from the east, nor from the west, Nor yet from the south, comes exaltation. But God is the judge. He puts down one, and lifts up another.
He raises up the poor out of the dust. Lifts up the needy from the ash heap; That he may set him with princes, Even with the princes of his people.

Commentary on 1 Chronicles 29 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 29
David has said what he had to say to Solomon. But he had something more to say to the congregation before he parted with them.
1Ch 29:1-9
We may here observe,
1Ch 29:10-22
We have here,
1Ch 29:23-30
These verses bring king Solomon to his throne and king David to his grave. Thus the rising generation thrusts out that which went before, and says, "Make room for us.' Every one has his day.
